Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

4th year with the mavs I am currently up 3-0 on SA and looking to close them out at home. I have an all auto generated starting group.

    great point
    solid sg
    all nba sf
young raw pf-nice outside shot though
    rapidly improving center.

I have salmons, young, scola, pryzblla on my bench, young is filled with hate but hey you're behind an all nba sf, sorry he's going to play 43 minutes a game and you'll get his scraps.

all of my playoff games with SA have been close, score not at all indicative if the game itself. For instance, I won in overtime 102-87 outscoring them 22-7 in overtime to make it not look as close, but my pg had to hit a last second lay up to force overtime, after I choked a way a 7 point lead with under 2 minutes to play.

my point guard finished that game with 60 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 5 turnovers. I have solid players but he is my go to guy, and I kind of hate not distributing the ball as much, but it seems that things go south easily and quickly for my team.

I should be able to close out sa in game 4 but this makes me nervous headed into the next round and hopefully beyond.

In the middle of January with Utah. Record is 30-8. D Will is avg. 23 and 13 and is 3rd in the MVP race behind Lebron and D Wade.

Chemistry is 78% and everyone's overall went up 2 points.

      D Will-23 pts 12 assists ppg.
      R. Bell-8.4 ppg
Kirelenko-2.3 ppg (basically in the lineup for defense only)
      Al Jefferson-17 ppg
      Bargani-23 ppg

      Milsap-13 ppg
      Courtney Lee- 13 ppg

#1 in the Power Rankings. I may trade Kirelenko and Raja Bell for a 3pt shooter before the break. I dont want to mess with the chemistry, so I may just keep them and let him kirelenko go in the off-season.
I'm not sure how salaries would match, but you could try Raja, AK47 and MAYBE a draft pick to the Raptors for Peja and Kleiza.

That wouldn't be a good trade for the Jazz, imo.

Peja's an expiring contract, and a very good 3 point shooter. Kleiza's one of the best shooters currently IMO, and though you would be sacrificing defence, you would be getting great shooting. Raptors need defence, Jazz need 3 pointers, problem solved.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Doing a 30-team association with Phoenix. After Denver got off to a 6-10 start, I figured it was time to ship Melo out of there. I had basically planned to trade him to either NY or NJ at some point of the season, but Favors suffered a Broken Back. So with the biggest piece of NJ's bait getting a significant injury, I figured the better option was to send him to NY.

I have each team owning their draft picks as in real life, so New York had nothing to deal. But basically the deal came down between 4 teams through 2 separate trades:

New York receives: Carmelo Anthony, Brian Skinner

Denver receives: Danilo Gallinari, Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry, Michael Redd, Milwaukee '12 1st round pick, New York '12 2nd round pick

Milwaukee receives: Kenyon Martin, JR Smith

              then:

Sacramento receives: JR Smith, Carlos Delfino, Jon Brockman

Milwaukee receives: Samuel Dalembert, Darnell Jackson, '11 2nd Round pick

New York is able to grab Carmelo while retaining Fields and Chandler. Denver gets rid of its headcase JR Smith while getting back two great young talents and two massive expirings, with a future draft pick.

Redd wasn't playing at all, so moving his expiring for K-Mart's makes sense. Milwaukee bolsters up it's post defense for the playoffs. Bogut has already gotten hurt once this season, so Dalembert can fill in nicely if he goes down again. Delfino was performing poorly on the season and with Mbah/Maggette to take over more SF minutes, he needed a change of scenery.

Sacramento clears up a bit of its logjam in the frontcourt while adding a great shooter for when Tyreke moves to PG. Delfino can also give them a bit more scoring as they're currently 28th in the league in PPG.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Decided to play a game to see how my team is, and all I can say is WOW, although the rebounding could be better.

Kemba Walker put up 21 points and 10 assists, double double first game, he just needs some work with on ball defense, and this was with an injury following the 2nd quarter, he still played all of his minutes though

Ben Gordon kept knocking down buckets from downtown and ended up with 18

And Iggy had quite a night too, 22 points and 10 rebounds

Then my front court did...eh...Perry Jones got 13 points, missing 4 FTs, got 6 rebounds and Greg Monroe made all but one of his shots getting 10 points, grabbing 7 rebounds.

And Charlie V brought barely anything to the table, only a handful of rebounds and one bucket and 2 FTs

Austin Daye and Bellinelli gave a 4 point effort missing two shots each

                  Bynum did...nothing...but turnover the ball.

Ended up pulling away in the last 2 minutes against the Spurs and won by 6, it was tough but no one but Kemba came up for the clutch and got the securing three ball.

I am loving my team, just wish it was a little bit more like my first year team...feels a bit too different seeing as it is only the second year...

Glad to see somebody else playing with the Jazz. AK for me, is a blast to play with. I rarely run any plays for him, unless he is being guarded by somebody smaller, than I will post him up, but I can manage to score 9-11 points with him a game. I think he's a great player to have on the Jazz. As for 3 point shooting, Raja is a pretty good shooter. He's currently second in my assciation in 3 point shooting.

Just made a trade with the T'Wolves, I'm the Suns.

                        Suns Get:
                        SF Wesley Johnson (expiring contract)
                        PF Kevin Love

                        T'Wolves Get:
                        PF Derrick Favors (Expiring Contract)
                        SF Jared Dudley
                        1st Round Pick

Though this was pretty fair both expiring contracts might of gotten the slight edge on this trade for next year if both Favors and Johnson decide to walk but the reason I made the trade was just disappointing production from Derrick Favors not only offensively but defensively. He was being man handled by some guys that he shouldn't have been man handled by. I think he had maybe 1 30 point game and 2 or three 20 point games and he should have produced much better than that and that wasn't even what concerned me; his rebounding was terrible. Some nights he could play 40 minutes and rack up a grand total of 2 rebounds. Most I might of seen him get was 11 and even though Robin Lopez took some of those boards, that shouldn't hindered him from grabbing 8+ rebounds a game. I think he was under 7. Also keep in mind I'm in year four here. The reason I got Kevin Love was exactly what Derrick Favors couldn't bring was the boards and also the fact that he can stretch the floor in ways Favors can't. Wesley Johnson can do the same thing but he can also take guys off the dribble in ways that Jared Dudley could not. The 1st rounder won't mean much to me because I plan to make a run deep in the play offs. Last year I was beaten by the Thunder and if I meet them again, Johnson will also give me a better defender to guard Jeff Green instead of Derrick Favors. So my line up before the trade was...

                        PG Seth Curry
                        SG Evan Turner
                        SF Jan Vesley
                        PF Derrick Favors
                        C Robin Lopez

The trade also put Lopez on the bench which I was desperately trying to find a way to do, he was just a liability on offense and on defense we was above average but it was almost like playing 4 on 5 on offense sometimes. The line up after the trade goes as follows

                        PG Seth Curry
                        SG Evan Turner
                        F Jan Vesley
                        F Wesley Johnson
                        PF Kevin Love

Jan Vesley is a liability on defense but many times I can just put him on their weakest offensive player and I'm fine, other than that every one is at least descent on defense, Seth Curry could use improvement but he's very quick so it makes up for it. Turner is my superstar, best defender, best offensive player. Kevin Love is slowly becoming my co-robin along with Johnson. Jan Vesley and Seth Curry are absolutely knock down shooters which opens up the floor so much for Turner and Johnson. Vesley can take it on an open drive too but not as well as the others. I'm having a lot of fun with this, hopefully the trade takes us from a slightly above .500 team to an elite team in the league. If some one wants to tell me what they think about the trade, fair or not, feel free.

Not much probably not at all but he's a bigger body and a better rebounder so get them to miss and its pretty much ours.

You take the role of a GM and by playing games and pulling off trades and drafting players and signing free agents, you try to build/keep your team a contender.
