Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I was thinking that tbh, but Since i do have roles set on and i had another 2 players who required sixth man minutes (west and chandler) it started troubling me on distributing mins.
Dont get me wrong i tried chandler out hes awesome but he seems to stop the offense with him. He doesnt like to pass out and i didnt like that. I figured if i go for evan turner, hes young and he has potential to be great. Only drawback to that was acquiring elton brands contract. But then i got rid off it for trading for poseys contract.
Yeah i get an older sf to back up durant but an older back up who doesnt require so much mins.
Atm since evan turner is taking most mins at sg harden is getting unhappy. Figured id try to sim to jan and see from there.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Timberwolves offered me
martell websterr 71 rating 2 years 10.54 mil left 24 years old
wesley johnson 79 rating 3 years 13.72 mill left 24 years old
For
james harden 79 rating 2 years 10.43 mil left 22 years old
james posey 66 rating 1 year 6.93 mill 34 years old
thunder 1st round pick.
Why i did this.
Yes im losing james harden but i already have evan turner and thabo backing him up. I also get wesley johnson a young prospect to back up durant. Which is nice and martell websterr helps too as long as he doesnt get injured. Which he probably will.
This is how my roster looks
Pg - Westbrook, Eric Maynor (injured season) , Jeremy Lin
Sg - Evan Turner, Thabo Sefolosha
sf - Kevin Durant, Wesley Johnson, Martell Webster
Pf - Serge Ibaka, Jeff Green, Etan Thomas
C - Roy hibbert, Tyson Chandler, And Hasheem Thabeet.
I dont have my next year 1st round and 2nd round for both years. But i do have my 2014 first round. But from the looks of this roster. I wont need to trade again or even sign anyone unless they retire.
This is a good young roster that could be developed.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Phoenix Sun's Association
Mid January and we are sitting 2 games back from the lakers.
The suns are leading the league in 3 pt % and we are playing an up tempo offense. Channing Frye fits well into the suns scheme as it is hard for most big's to cover him out the by the 3 pt line so he gets alot of open looks.
roster
pg-nash
sg-Iguodala ( aqquired for vc and 12 1st rd pck)
sf-Dudley
pf-Frye
c-Gortat
bench
dragic
lopez
warrick
childress
lawal
Up next is the cavaliers to end my 3 game home streak, which saw the suns lose to the knicks by 10 and end a nice 5 game winning streak.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Figured I'd ask here instead of making a new thread. As the Knicks, how can I get enough cap to sign Melo when he goes to the free agency? I trade away Eddy Curry for as little a contract I could, but thats not enough.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Doing a Knicks association. I'm 1-3 thus far; traded Curry & Randolph for Jason Richardson & a 1st at the beginning. I'm having severe trouble scoring right now. Might just be rust (haven't played in a month or so), but I dunno. Gonna play it out.
Just play the season out. You should have around $30+ million in cap space in the off-season, when a bunch of the players' contracts expire. Sign him then.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started a wiz chise. I beat the Magic 113-100 in game one. Then i made the following deals:
I traded:
Gilbert 81 overall sg 4 years 80 mil
Hilton Armstrong 61 overall C 1 year 600k
AL thorton 70 overall sf 1 year 2 mil mil
Mavs Traded:
Brandon Heyward 71 overall C 6 years 52.27
Beaubois 76 overall SG 3 years 4.62 mil
Shawn Marion 76 overall sf 4 years 7. something mil deal
Deshuan Steveson 61 overall sg 1 year 4.15 mil
Then I trade:
Heyward
2011/2012 2nds
Bobcats trade:
Nazr Mohhamd 66 overall center 1 year 6.88 mil deal
That leaves me with a rotation of:
PG: wall/Hinrich
sg: Beaubois/Young
sf: marion/howard
pf: Blacthe/Yi
C: Mcgee/mohhamdComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Well simmed the the rest of my 76ers season and ended up going 34-48 and got the 9th pick in the draft and Selected Kyle Singler. The Wizards offered me there 2nd round pick (#4) and there 2012 1st round pick for Andres Nocioni and my 2012 1st round oick, so i accepted that ands took Kalin Lucas with the pick. Still havent made up my mind who i want to pick with my #9 pick, but i think i made trade that pick for a Center since Hawes is testing free agency and i let Thaddeus Young walk since he hated it PHI.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just started new Clippers association. I figured building around Blake Griffin would be fun.
Traded Eric Gordon and a 2nd rounder for James Harden, Eric Maynor and a 2nd rounder. (Hate playing with undersized players)
Traded Baron Davis and Eric Bledsoe for Jrue Holiday, Jason Kapono and Sixers 1st Rounder. (Wanted good, young point guard)
Traded Eric Maynor and a 1st for Blatche (Needed some quality frontcourt depth)
Traded a few scrubs for CJ Watson
Roster:
Holiday
Harden
Aminu
Griffin
Kaman
Blatche
Foye
CJ Watson
Gomes
Jordan
Kapono
Craig Smith
I'm finding my points in the paint percentage is really low in this game, while jumpshots are really easy to hit (playing superstar difficulty, simulation sliders). I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else on the forum, so does anyone have any tips on getting better dribble penetration since iso moves are much weaker this year? I'm doing well as thing stand (5-2), but don't want to rely on mid-range shots for the whole season.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
(Cracks Knuckles) Where Do I begin...Ok lets start
I control 2 teams in my Association, the Ready Now Los Angeles Lakers and the up and coming Bobcats. Im currently in my 5th year 82 game season, I don't play every game, mostly just the top match ups or Games of the day (Doesn't always include my Teams)
Year 1: The Lakers Dominated the regular season, can't quite remember their record but it was over 60 games, Kobe avg about 33ppg, we met up with the heat in the finals, I remember earlier in the season Lebron torched us for 50 points on 80% shooting so I was itching for an opportunity to get them back, after splitting In LA, we went to Miami and took two games, Gasol was insane in game 5 something like 49 points 12 rebounds, Kobe chipped in 40 on low % shooting tho, game went into OT and we won, The heat took Game 6, set up a classic game 7.
GAME 7 - The heat was up double digits entering the forth, But Kobe brought us back, scoring 56 points, we got to the freethrow line at least 20 times in the forth, Kobe hit the GW jumper to WIn it all.
My Bobcats was my main project tho, I tanked the season we were one of the bottom teams in the draft , I traded Jackson to the nets for their 1st round Pickit was a robbery, I ended up getting the 2nd and 3rd pick in the draft, I drafted a 6'6 sg overall 77 and a 7'3 center overall 78
Year 2:
My sg Avg 25ppg his rookie year, won Rookie of the year, despite breaking his damn ankle and missing the playoffsThe heat swept us, I traded my rookie center at mid season for Bogut. I didn't like his play style for a 7'3 monster (I'll make a trade for him towards the end of his career tho)
My lakers got old on me, Kobe still had a great year but the lakers were bounced in the second round, The Nuggets and heat met in the finals with the heat winning their first championship (Boo)
Year 3: My SG had progressed he finished the season averaging 33ppg leading the league, we once again got to the playoffs and got thrashed by the heat in the first round.
Kobe suffered a brutal Arm injury near the end of the year (6-8 weeks) Bynum and Gasol picked up their play both finished the season Avg 20 and 10. Got the lakers to the playoffs but we got bounceed again in the second round.
Dwight won his first MVP, but once again the heat got to the finals and Beat down OKC
YEAR 4: My SG stepped it up big time, he avg 38.9ppg lol he had a streak of like 40+ consecutive 30 + point games, Had a 82p 10r 10a game aginst a tough Minnesota team(Timber wolves drafted Centers in consecutive years, One a dominant defender, the other a future 20 10 guy) great season overall for my guy, we still won under 50 games tho so no MVP for me. We got to the playoffs and once again got beat by the HeatLiterally, they completely shut my SG down holding him 11 points under is Average (27ppg) on 41% shooting. Took us down in 5
but it was all about the Lakers this year, I let go of Artest, not alot of moves was made tho, i traded for Vince Carter. I switched Kobe to PGand Bynum developed into a beast. Bynum averaged 26 and 10 that year on 60% shooting, Kobe averaged 21ppg and 9apg, the lakers won 70 games. We went on to beat the heat in 6 games with Kobe taking home MVP and FInals MVP that year, It seems Like Phil Jackson will never retire tho, and he should be by my fifth year (But of course he didn't) Vince Carteer retired tho and kobe has maybe a year left.
I am currently in my fifth year, things are going by smoothly, My Bobcats are on the rise, and the heat are on the decline(Lebron broke his back) Wade and Bosh are trying to keep them in the hunt, I have already beaten them three times so far with my BobcatsUPDATES COMING SOON

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Recently started and Association with the Wizards...plan was to totally revamp the lineup and start from scratch in my second season.
At start of first season I managed to offload Hinrich, Yi (needed to in order to get draft picks) and Howard who all had 1.5 star trade value. Shifting these guys with some other bench warmers and my 1st round pick for 2012 meant I was able to land both the Clippers and Cavs first round draft picks for 2011.
I totally tanked the season (almost all simmed) and after the lottery ended up with the 1st, 2nd and 11th overall draft picks
So in the draft I picked up Barnes, Perry Jones and Sullinger - 1st, 2nd, 11th respectively.
Team now looks like this
Wall / Delonte West
Barnes / Gee
Perry Jones / Rashad Lewis
Sullinger / Blatche / Lewis
Blatche / Mc Gee / Sullinger
+ a few others....
Team looks fairly set for a good few years now...will be looking to pick up some experienced FA in the offseason. Main aim this year is to make the playoffs.
I've Started well 13-8...second in the divison behind powerhouse Miami and 4th in conference. Points being shared evenly between Wall and Barnes. Jones has been injured but it just getting fit again now.
Oh and in the first year, Memphis won it all! wtf?!Comment
