Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

After re-starting a few Associations, I finally decided on 12 minute quarters and 82 game season. I'll get through it eventually. I'm a big stat guy and love the 12 minute quarters. I'm playing with the Pistons, looking to restore them to their former glory!

I was blowing out the T-Wolves in my first game and after 3 quarters, I was up 78-57. I hit sim to end of game and quit, but for some reason, there were no stats or score for the 4th quarter. It just ended 78-57. Very frustrating! I tested it my next game and came down and hit a jumper with Rip to go up 2-0 then called a timeout and simmed to end of game and won 106-86 or something like that. It was really weird and kinda frustrating. Oh well, still 81 more games. I'm at the start of the 4th quarter in my 2nd game at home against the Thunder. Durant had 31 at HALF, including 7-10 from behind the arc! He has 35 through 3 quarters. I was down 53-50 and the Thunder went up 9 near the end of the 3rd quarter, but I got it back to 7 to start the 4th. Ill finish up the game tonight.

I'm using mkharsh33's sliders that can be found here:
    http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-jds-base.html
I like the sliders, but I noticed there are a lot of missed lay-ups and the shooting can get a little streaky. It's also pretty hard to lock up your man, unless I'm not doing something right.

They're still the Raptors. I traded the current day Bulls to the Raptors. Let them keep Barbosa,Calderon and DeRoz,everyone else moved to FA. Then inserted the old Bulls into the current day Bulls spot, now made up of low rated players no one would've signed anyway. So Bulls = Jordan Raptors = Rose. Still only says Bulls in the standings, not 95-96 Bulls but it does say 95-96 on the roster screen. Same thing with the "Sonics" who I traded the Hornets to. Sonics moved to Clippers spot,Clippers moved to east,Pacers moved to Hornets spot.

I just hope that you're right dude. I'm not buying for a playoff run this year but if ever we did, it would be a large bonus for our team. Right now, we're trying to find our identity. Once we find our identity, we can easily make adjustments for every game we play.

Regarding the trades. I'm not sure but If I'm right, around 18-20. The trades are quite surprising for me this year.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

The Miami Heat returned home to the friendly confines of the AA Arena. With the Eastern Conference Finals tied at a game a piece the Heat were looking to keep home court advantage. The game was nip and tuck through the first half until 4 minutes remained in the 2nd quarter. That is when Joe Johnson and the Hawks went on a 20-8 run. The Heat was leading by 5 when the Hawks went on a tear to go into the half up by 8. Coach Eric Spolstra however may have finally cracked the code of the Hawks. To start the 3rd quarter his lineup was

              PG - Lebron James
              SG - Dwayne Wade
              SF - Mike Miller
              PF - Chris Bosh
              C- Big Z

With Lebron James at the point the Hawks had no answer. And on defense Miami kept James on Joe Johnson (who still scorched the Heat for a team high 41 points) and Miller guarded the point.

The Heat led by Lebron James (39 points) and Dwayne Wade (37 points) took a 3 point lead midway through the 4th. Again the teams traded baskets when with 8 seconds and the game tied Mike bibby nailed a huge 3. A full timeout the heat gameplanned a play for Mike Miller (24 points) to take the inbound and go to the top of the 3 point line with a pick set by Lebron. It worked to perfection as Miller nailed the 3 to tie the game with .4 seconds left. The game went into OT.

It was there that Chris Bosh (18 points) made his presence felt with a OT high 8 points to lead the Heat as they pulled away for a 6 point win and 2-1 series lead.

              Game 4 is in Miami.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started a Warriors association with the intention of completing several seasons and developing a young team.

Going into the first season, I figured that the current Warriors roster has limited potential. A starting 5 with players like David Lee, Dorrell Wright and Biedrins could make the first or second round of the playoffs at best, so I decided to rebuild. I make trades with the assumption that it's just a video game, so I know that some would never happen irl.

Cannot remember all of the trades, but the key was with the Clippers: Ellis, Lee and a first rounder for Griffin, Baron Davis and a second rounder.

I also somehow managed to get Wesley Johnson through a series of trades (somehow via Caron Butler), and I switched Baron Davis for Jason Richardson to free cap space and get an expiring contract/GSW veteran to play the 2.

Also switched Biedrins for Tyson Chandler to give my team some defense and an expiring contract.

Brandon Bass and Pietrus were acquired from the Magic for some depth.

                Starting lineup:
                Curry
                Richardson
                Johnson
                Griffin
                Chandler

My general gameplan is running pick and rolls with Griffin, running my guards around screens for jumpshots, and kicking out to open shooters when Griffin is doubled in the post. Obviously have very little defense, so I rely on playing up-tempo and outscoring my opponents. Working fairly well so far, am currently 6-3, but my real focus is on developing talent for next season.

                  My first post.
I'm going to be starting out with a Fantasy Draft, using the Knicks team.

some important Settings are as follows:
                  82 games,
                  trade override = off,
                  pre-season games = on,
                  injuries = on,
                  fantasy draft = on,
                  set order = serpentine
                  customize league = off,
                  8 minute quarters.

I got selected 6th in the draft pick...here's who i drafted.

                  1ST. Kevin Durant - SF, 2ND. LaMarcus Aldridge - PF, 3RD. Jason Terry - SG, 4TH. Baron Davis - PG, 5TH. Arron Afflalo - SG, 6TH. Marcin Gortat - C, 7TH. Luke Ridnour - PG, 8TH. James Posey - SF, 9TH. Chris Anderson - C, 10TH. Josh Powell - PF, 11TH. Renaldo Balkman - SF, 12TH. Garrett Temple - SG, 13TH. Jannero Pargo - PG

All in season tasks left to me.

In our first pre-season game, we got trashed by the Nets. 110-86. Melo led the Nets with 33 pts.

                    My stats in the game:

                    PG: M. Williams - 18 pts, 7 ast
                    SG: J. Alexander(R) - 15 pts, 4 ast, 3 reb
                    SF: R. Williams - 15 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast
                    PF: B. Wright - 11 pts, 9 reb, 1 ast
                    C: R. Hibbert - 24 pts, 11 reb, 2 blk, 2 ast

                    PF: J. Hickson - 9 pts, 9 reb
                    PG: D. Gibson - 6 pts, 4 ast
                    C: M. Swift(R) - 6 pts, 5 reb

                    - Adding insult to injury, Mo suffered a swollen wrist and J.J. Hickson suffered a twisted ankle during the game. The trainers told us that they should be 100% anytime soon.

                    Next game:

New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers

I'll update you again later guys.

Anybody here know if you can set your Association to 30-team control after already starting it. I'm starting to see why this is recommended.

Josh Smith got injured when I was playing the Spurs. Out 2-4 weeks. Put out bounties but apprently the hard foul button doesn't work so well. Minor injuries to Manu and McDyess. 25 fouls. Still won but didn't manage to take out any one significantly.

I just finished my first season with the magic and it was a tough one. I lost in the conference championship to none other than the Miami heat. Their offense was just too much for me.

I went into the off-season with a solid first round draft pick and intentions of improving my squad to compete with the heat. I ended up drafting Harrison Barnes (77 Rating) with the number 4 pick but also getting rid of duhon and reddick. I still don't have enough fire power to compete with the heat but I'm sure I'll get there soon enough with a couple moves.

                            Starting Lineup:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Having a blast with my Cleveland Cavaliers Association

After finishing just short of the playoffs 13-16 I consider it a really good first post-lebron era season. I had a great off season and I am quite impressed with the moves that I made lol

My team got the 11th pick in the draft, I wanted to get a big man as my plans were to get rid of Varejao because of my inability to do anything with him. With the 11th pick of the draft i decided to get C Jonas Valanciunas 69 ovr A- Potential. At the 17th pick I decided that he could be someone I could trade and get more value so I made a trade for Anthony Randolph who has fallen out of favor with the Knicks and has tons of potential and the #20 pick in the draft. With the #20 pick in the draft I took Mason Plumlee from Duke, when I was doing workouts he really impressed me I found his shot really easy and he is a block machine. So trading my lottery pick got me two solid potential stars.

In went into free agency looking for a solid SF and my team had enough cap space to offer one big contract. Melo was in free agency but I did not have enough money nor did I want him, the second best option was Wilson Chandler. I offered all the money I could to him he rejected it and went back to the Knicks. I decided to sign the best option after that in Thaddeus Young and I had enough money to sign Shane Battier as well. Melo signed with the Pacers which pissed me off so I traded him back to the Nuggets. Then to spice things up I traded him to the Knicks for Chandler Douglas 1st Rd Pick 2012 2013.

Im in the preseason right now so I can get used to my team and my team is a defensive beast blocking shots left and right.

                              My lineup right now is:
                              Mo Williams
                              Kelenna Azibuike
                              Thaddeus Young
                              JJ Hickson
                              Anderson Varejao

                              Bench
                              Daniel Gibson
                              Anthony Randolph
                              Shane Battier
                              Mason Plumlee
                              Ryan Hollins
                              Chris Duhon
                              Adam Morrison
                              Luke Walton
                              Jamario Moon

Hickson and Gibson are my two best players so I separate both of them so one can lead the first team and the other can lead the bench.
                              will keep you guys updated

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

                                Just finished playing my second pre-season game. Cavs(me) 95 - Knicks 88.

                                My stats:

                                PG: M. Williams - 16 pts, 8 ast, 1 stl
                                SG: J. Alexander(R) - 22 pts, 4 ast, 4 reb, 3 blk
                                SF: R. Williams - 7 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast
                                PF: B. Wright - 11 pts, 10 reb, 2 blk
                                C: R. Hibbert - 26 pts, 13 reb, 3 ast, 1 blk

                                PF: J. Hickson - 11 pts, 8 reb
                                PG: D. Gibson - 6 pts, 6 ast
                                C: M. Swift(C) - 4 pts, 8 reb

-We were sloppy in the 1st half but managed to get it together in the second half. It all started when Hibbert and Wright demanded attention in the paint, it opened the rainbow country for Mo and Alexander.
-On the other side, Amare dominates their offense, scoring 28 pts and grabbing 14 reb. But his dominant play inside wasn't enough to grab them a win. Their role players didn't show the intensity Amare had.
-I'm planning to get another player for the team. Maybe an additional SG or a big man.

                                Next game:

                                Orlando Magics vs Cleveland Cavaliers
