Sucks that you traded Reggie. Advice: Derozan and Barngani progress FAST. Trade Peja, but only if you can get something good for him. And... D. Anderson? Like, David Anderson? TRADE HIM. Colangelo got rid of him for a reason, lol.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
In my Suns association I'm working on an NBA Title right now, my road to the 'chip, wasn't hard to be honest. Started out with a sweep of the Nuggets, Carmelo was silenced by Evan Turner and Wes Johnson, never broke 30 points and there was really no other person on that team who could score against us. In the Western Conference Semi's we faced the Memphis Grizzlies with a defense that really looked like they could lock us down and they did that in games 1 and 2 for the most part however we took both games by only 2 or 3 points each game. The next games we went to their house and lost game three on the road but bounced back and went up 3-1 thanks to some defensive adjustments. Decided to take Evan Turner, our best defender and put him on O.J. Mayo who was stroking from three all game, in game three and he ended up with 1 or 2 threes in game 4. Game 5 we took pretty convincingly didn't see much resistance in the game. Western Conference Finals: facing the offensive corner stone in the NBA with 2 of the best shooters in the league Aaron Brooks and Kevin Martin. Third year high-flier Derrick Williams played the 3, Patrick Patterson played the other forward and Rookie of the Year Adrian Chambers, a 7 foot 3 inch big man played the 5. We didn't match up with this team very well both Aaron Brooks and Kevin Martin locked down Evan Turner and Seth Curry for game 1. It wasn't pretty however the equalizer was Adrian Chambers did not play well due to the constant double teams we threw at him and his god awful pass rating didn't allow for many kicks to threes. We did get stunned at home after Kevin Martin hit a shot leaving 3.7 left on the clock giving them the lead and Evan Turner wasn't able to knock down a game tier. In game 2 there was no mercy as Evan Turner just went bonkers hitting on 5 of his first 6 three point shot attempts. He ended up with 42 points and 8 assists in game 2 tying the series. In this game Kevin Martin went down with a back strain and wasn't able to play most likely the rest of the series. Game 3 we won by another large margin Kevin Martin being out helped Turner rack up another 32 points and in game 4 the same thing went down except this time Turner went for 56 in an almost Jordan like outing also recording 8 assists again. Game 5 was closer but still ended up being a Phoenix win and an invitation to the NBA Finals winning the WCF 4 to 1.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
YES, not only another Hawk's fan, but someone who suffered through this stupid ice storm the same way I did: by playing a silly amount of game's in their Hawks Association.
I love Crawford's quickness and his jump shot's elevation, so I kept him, though just for interests sake I might not resign him. Like you, I couldn't deal with Marvin's horrible offensive qualities and giant contract (though I did him to be a great defensive weapon who shut down LeBron for me), so I traded him away with Teague and got Louis Williams.
Josh Smith is beast mode though, no doubt. I hope, however, I don't get killed in the playoffs
I had the 27th pick in the draft but was able to trade Marvin Williams (good riddance) to the Nuggets for the 15th pick. I guess they needed a replacement for Carmelo who signed with the Suns. I took a SF, C.J. Leslie, who hurt himself in the first quarter of the first preseason game. I traded the rights to the 27th pick for the Raptors' current second round pick and first round pick in next year's draft.
Just finished my third game and I'm 2-1. I lost to the Magic 89-88 on a Jason Richardson buzzer beater 3 pointer that was absolute painful. Joe Johnson gets lost on D sometimesand left him open.
I beat the Heat convincingly after D. Wade got hurt and just blew out the 76ers. C.J. Leslie came back from injury and exploded for 16 points on 7-8 shooting so he's looking like a winner.
My squad:
Starters:
PG: Devin Harris
SG: Joe Johnson
SF: C.J. Leslie
PF: Josh Smith
C: Al Horford
Reserves:
Mike Bibby (6th man)
Jeff Taylor (SF I drafted with the Raptors 2nd Rd Pick
Josh Powell
Zaza Puchilla
Anthony Morrow
Ben Cook (a 7'2'' 275lb slow-moving glacier who gets me a couple of rebounds and blocks and nothing else)
Maurice Evans (currently on the "Reserve" list behind my rookie SFs)
Jeff Teague (I want to get him more minutes, but there's no room)
I feel this team might be special depending on the play of my two rookie SFs. I don't think I can beat the Lakers yet, but I hope I can compete for the Eastern Conference Championship.
Oh...and Blake Griffin blew out his ACL and is out for the season. The Clippers curse survives even in the virtual world.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm thinking of starting my second association in the game. I'll probably begin it after the trade deadline in real life so I'll have the final rosters going in, but I wanted some opinions on what I've decided to do.
I have a hard time staying with an association because I tend to get bored after awhile playing with the same team and start simulating until I get to the playoffs. I started a 8 team association (4 Eastern teams, 4 Western) to see if I could get over it but sure enough after a few weeks into the season I got bored and started simming.
I'd like to do a full season of playing for once, so I finally came up with a rather simple idea to keep my interest.
I'm going to do the 30 team association, and each week in the season I'm going to play with a different team. I calculated how many weeks I would be playing and it's 24 (25 if you include that last week before the playoffs). Obviously that's not enough for 30 teams, so every four weeks I will play as two teams and that last week of the season I'll just play selected games for playoff position. I assigned each team a number 1 through 30 based on alphabetical order of city names and used a random number generator to decided which weeks I would play as which team. My schedule looks like this:
Week 1 (Oct. 26th-Oct. 31st) - New Jersey Nets
Week 2 (Nov. 1st-Nov. 7th) - Charlotte Bobcats
Week 3 (Nov. 8th-Nov. 14th) - Toronto Raptors
Week 4 (Nov. 15th-Nov. 21st) - Cleveland Cavaliers & Oklahoma City Thunder
Week 5 (Nov. 22nd-Nov. 28th) - Utah Jazz
Week 6 (Nov. 29th-Dec. 5th) - Sacramento Kings
Week 7 (Dec. 6th-Dec. 12th) - Orlando Magic
Week 8 (Dec. 13th-Dec. 19th) - Golden State Warriors & Phoenix Suns
Week 9 (Dec. 20th-Dec. 26th) - Milwaukee Bucks
Week 10 (Dec. 27th-Jan. 2nd) - Chicago Bulls
Week 11 (Jan. 3rd-Jan. 9th) - Portland Trail Blazers
Week 12 (Jan. 10th-Jan. 16th) - Minnesota Timberwolves & Detroit Pistons
Week 13 (Jan. 17th-Jan. 23rd) - New Orleans Hornets
Week 14 (Jan. 24th-Jan. 30th) - Miami Heat
Week 15 (Jan. 31st-Feb. 6th) - Los Angeles Clippers
Week 16 (Feb. 7th-Feb. 13th) - Denver Nuggets & Memphis Grizzlies
Week 17 (Feb. 14th-Feb. 20th) - Washington Wizards
Week 18 (Feb. 21st-Feb. 27th) - Los Angeles Lakers
Week 19 (Feb. 28th-Mar. 6th) - Dallas Mavericks
Week 20 (Mar. 7th-Mar. 13th) - Atlanta Hawks & New York Knicks
Week 21 (Mar. 14th-Mar. 20th) - Indiana Pacers
Week 22 (Mar. 21st-Mar. 27th) - Boston Celtics
Week 23 (Mar. 28th-Apr. 3rd) - San Antonio Spurs
Week 24 (Apr. 4th-Apr. 10th) - Philadelphia 76ers & Houston Rockets
Week 25 (Apr. 11th-Apr. 13th) - Will play selected games and sim others
Any thoughts?Comment

Anyone got any ideas on how i could improve either of my teams i will probably simulate most of my games as im doing an 82 game season but ill be hoping to get both teams into playoffs
The magic are 2-1 lebron hasnt been playing badly but has'nt achivied anymore then 26points or 8 rebounds it helps having camby eating up lose boards and odom has a nice outside jumper and mo williams is doing gr8 had 37 in my last game where they had melo,vc and devin harris so he looks like a good pick my bench is a little weak so may need to improve that but with thr likes of camby, james and brewer im the number 1 defensive team in the league so ill work trades around thatComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I have been reading, but I haven't posted in this thread in a while. Keep the association stories coming.
I just recently restarted a Bobcats association. I started out really well with my team but eventually had to trade Boris Diaw. He wouldn't make open shots consistently and Tyrus Thomas started to shine. I made 2 trades after 12 games:
CHA gets: Baron Davis & DeAndre Jordan
LAC gets: Boris Diaw, Gana Diop, '11 1st round pick
CHA gets: Dante Cunningham, '12 1st round pick
POR gets: Dominic McGuire, '12 1st round pick
I had to bring Baron Davis back to Charlotte, although he is my 6th man and is not thrilled about his role yet.
My record is 12-5.-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
haha completely simulated to the playoffs magic had really good record of 60-22 and had 1st seed in east the nuggets had 5th seed on a 49-33 record
MVP:lebron james (magic)
ROY:John wall (pistons)
Sixth man:Louis williams (wizards)
Defensive player:Josh smith (hawks)
MIP:Terrence williams (Raptors)
So to the playoffs magic have simple 4-1 win agaisnt bulls, whilst nuggets pull off shock 4-1 win agaisnt spurs, the semi finals and the magic play 5th seed miami and win 4-1 again, the nuggets hav the 1st seed lakers i expect them to go out but they pull off big 4-2 win and i have both teams in conference finals
(East: Bucks v Magic) Magic and Bucks trade home wins and then we beat them in final match to progress to nba finals
(West:Hornets v Nuggets) Hornets are the 7th seed but are no match for my nuggets who win 4-1 and really hav impressed me in ther playoffs agianst tough teams and a tougher route then the magic
So i hav both my teams into the finals which is gr8 im guranteeed a championship and finals mvp(lebron) im gonna sim the first 3 and if its a sweep ill play as other team and get it to 3-3 and then play half and half of the 7th
After simming first 3 the magic are 2-1 up they blew nuggets out by at least 30 in first 2 games but denver come back with a 18 point win in the 3rd,simmed the 4th and nuggets win again, simmed the 5th and nuggets take suprise 3-2 lead with a 16 point win gonna play the other 2 tomoz to decide champ
Noteable facts in final
*Lebron puts team on his back in first 2 games having 39 and 10 assits and then 55 and 13 assists nuggets getting outplayed in first 2 in very stat column 2-0 magic
*Lebron still dominating having 37 and 14 rebounds and 4 blocks but lose to a nuggets team that had luis scola 23 points and 12 rebounds and billups had 22 and 9 assists 2-1 magic
*Game 4 and the nuggets level it up behind scola's 25 and 15 rebounds lebrons incredbile series continues having 33 and 15 rebounds
*Games 5 and nuggets take lead boozer had 21 and 11 rebounds whilst billups has 25 points and 8 assists lebron still has 37 and 9 reboundsComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
things havent been going well the last week in my suns association. we have been on a slide, losing 5 out of 6 since having both frye and gortat go down. One more road game and we go home for a nice 5 game stretch which is well needed. with the trade deadline looming we are debating making a move to bring in a defensive bigman to help the suns since we have 2 down for the next few months. hopefully our home game stretch will get us back on track and in the run for a playoff berth.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Advanced to the playoffs from 4th spot (16-13), and play with Blazers. I won first 3 games - by 7, 16 and 2), THEN I LOST FOUR IN A ROW AND MADE A NEW NBA HISTORY LOL!!! I lost by 7, 14, 28!!! and by 16 in game no 7. I dunno what happended, lol... I couldn't stop them in any of last four games. That was ridiculous... My bench was f**** useless, and I will trade Okur for some picks in 2011 draft for sure! Miles also disappointed me... but I give him one more chance in next season. I need rebuild my bench, I need some scorer who will consistent score 15 ppg. i didnt do off-season cause I have enough for today after this playoffs. New NBA champion is... Milwauke Bucks lol... They defeated Rockets in 7. They traded for Elton Brand in January for Michael Redd, and he was spectacular in Finals, avg around 20ppg and 8 rpg. Thay also defeated Heat in 6 and Magic in 6 lol. Rockets won with Spurs, Mavs and Trail Blazers, who knocked out Lakers in 6 in WC semifinals. These playoffs was not what I expected, lol...Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I need a team to start with. My idea was the Pittsburgh Condors as a Fantasy Drafted team, but you can't play music in the arena before the game (so I can forget playing Black & Yellow before each tip). I don't know much about the NBA, but I do want a young team. What should I go for?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started one with the rockets:
First move: Traded Kevin Martin, Shane Battier, Aaron Brooks, 1rst round pick for:
Deron Williams, C.J Miles, Gordan Hayward
Second move: Trade Louis Scola and Kyle Lowry for Josh Smith
Signed Gerald Green from Free Agency
Roster looks like this:
PG: Deron Williams/ Ish Smith
SG: Courtney Lee/Gerald Green
SF: Gordan Hayward/Chase Buddinger/C.J. Miles
PF: Josh Smith/Jordan Hill/Chuck Hayes
C: Yao Ming/ Brad Miller/Jared Jeffries
Chase Buddinger is out 4-6 weeks with a broken ankle.
I really wanna move Brad Miller and Chuck Hayes but the CPU hasn't been interested lol!
Also i know i need to upgrade my starting SG but i dont know what direction i wanna go in just yet. Also Gordan and J.Hill are my projects. Im trying to develop them into stars!
Deron has been beastly for me also. Avg 20 15 5 through 8 games
Any ideas from you guys on how to improve the team is greatly appreciated!Last edited by DW3; 01-16-2011, 06:14 PM.Xbox Live- YoKnos
