Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I need a team to start with. My idea was the Pittsburgh Condors as a Fantasy Drafted team, but you can't play music in the arena before the game (so I can forget playing Black & Yellow before each tip). I don't know much about the NBA, but I do want a young team. What should I go for?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started one with the rockets:
First move: Traded Kevin Martin, Shane Battier, Aaron Brooks, 1rst round pick for:
Deron Williams, C.J Miles, Gordan Hayward
Second move: Trade Louis Scola and Kyle Lowry for Josh Smith
Signed Gerald Green from Free Agency
Roster looks like this:
PG: Deron Williams/ Ish Smith
SG: Courtney Lee/Gerald Green
SF: Gordan Hayward/Chase Buddinger/C.J. Miles
PF: Josh Smith/Jordan Hill/Chuck Hayes
C: Yao Ming/ Brad Miller/Jared Jeffries
Chase Buddinger is out 4-6 weeks with a broken ankle.
I really wanna move Brad Miller and Chuck Hayes but the CPU hasn't been interested lol!
Also i know i need to upgrade my starting SG but i dont know what direction i wanna go in just yet. Also Gordan and J.Hill are my projects. Im trying to develop them into stars!
Deron has been beastly for me also. Avg 20 15 5 through 8 games
Any ideas from you guys on how to improve the team is greatly appreciated!
solid overall team. i wouldnt make any moves unless you need more depth at sg. gerald green is athletic but im not sure how good he is ,as ive never used him.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Haha i thought David Anderson was still on the team. I keep Peja b/c he's cheap and can hit a 3 every so often.Last edited by Shield; 01-16-2011, 07:01 PM.Lakers | Michigan | DodgersComment

[2-1 TOR year 1/All-Star/82gm/10min]
Lost game 3 to SAC 96-89, Tyreke lit me up for 37 and i couldn't stop him to save my life. What was even worse was 3 guys got injured, which means more minutes for Bargs and Randolph.
Bayless - Day-to-day ankle sprain
Amir - 2-4 weeks severe ankle sprain
Anderson - 2-4 weeks back sprain [or spasms?]
PG Bayless | Calderon
SG Barbosa | Weems
SF Derozan | Donte Greene | Julian Wright | Peja | Kleiza
PF A.Randolph | Amir Johnson | J.Dorsey
C Bargnani | D.AndersonLakers | Michigan | DodgersComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I just can't get Peja's jumpers down. Also, edit Barbosa so that his secondary posistion is PG, since he plays that about 3-4 times a game IRL. If you keep Peja, he resigns for 480k.Last edited by AC; 01-16-2011, 09:08 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I just won against the Magics, 90-88. It was a close one but Alexander(R), did have a great look on the inbound pass and knocks down the jumper.
Alexander(R) is turning out to be out #1 Iso guy. With a little patience, I can develop him into a better jump shooter, adding more weapons into his repertoire.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just did a draft using the Cavs and got the 9th pick. Here is my lineup:
Rose / Baron Davis / Eric Maynor
Monte Ellis / Vince Carter
AI 2 / backup
Troy Murphy / Matt Bonner
Okur / back up C
I gotta good team. I started out 0-2 but now I am 4-2 in my 29 game association. I have the 5th rated offense and like 19th rated defense. I love playing with this team. Love having Carter and Davis coming off the bench. Love backup up smaller PGs with Davis. Thoughts on my team?
I'm trying to find a decent playbook. I'm using the standard Cavs playbook right now. Thinking of switching to the Celtics since Ihave the same type of players as the big 3. Thougths?Comment

Started my Pistons Association simmed most of the first season dumping salaries and trying to get youth or picks along the way.
Traded Maxiell, Bynum, Prince, Hamilton, and Wallace for mostly cap space only real notable players I came out with was Toney Douglas and Darko.
I ended up being offered Z. Randolph and the Grizzlies 1st for B. Gordon, C. Villanueva and a 2nd rd pick. I wanted to hold onto Gordon but getting a strong post player and dumping CVs contract were too good to pass up.
Ended up with only 23 wins but with almost 30 mil and 2 1sts I was content.
Resigned Stuckey and Randolph before the draft then I got the #1 pick in the lottery.
I ended up trading down in the draft to the Suns for the #4 and #22 picks. Then sent the 4 to the Bucks for the #9 and a future pick. That gave me the #9, 14, and 22nd. I then went and drafted Brandon Knight, Donatas Montajuenas(sp?), and Kris Joseph.
After the draft I targeted a SF and I had a choice between Chandler and T. Young. I spent the extra money and went after Chandler who I signed for 5 yrs starting at 11 mil.
My lineup now is
B.Knight/T. Douglas
Stuckey/T. White
W. Chandler/A.Daye
Z.Randolph/Donatas
G.Monroe/Darko
Only 12 games in and were 7-5 Stuckey is avg 27 and has been worth every dollar it took to keep him. Chandler has been a great second option on offense and he's been a suprisingly good defender. Randolph has been steady and a great compliment to the wings. Monroe has been steady but unspectacular. The rookies have started well Donatas is avg 13 right now but he doesn't do much else but score Kris Joseph hasn't been receiving heavy minutes but runs the floor well and has a smooth jumper. Brandon Knight has been up and down. He has alot of responsiblity in my offense and has a tendency to turn the ball over. He's avg 12 and 6 right now but has been playing better as of late. The outlook looks good and with the potential on the bench if I need to make a veteran move to go to the playoffs ill have that option.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I met the lakers in finals and shaq got reinjured. I ended up playing Glen davis as center and Hickson as starting pf.
Took them to game 7 and barely won. Tried to shoot the 3 with manu and he missed but thabeet came outta nowhere and did a put back dunk that won the series for me.
Offseason now, Shaq retired, made hof.
Had 2 1st rounders both went pick 6 and 7. I figured id make a splash in free agency with a rookie big man so i traded my 6th, 7th pick with 2 2nd rounds for the 1st pick of this year
Draft started and turns out it was a pg draft -_-. I ended up picking a 6'8 sf 3 point shooter.
Free agency started and i saw tim duncan as a fa, was tempted to reunite him with manu but i also saw landry fields. Decided to go with landry fields even though i already had 3 sg's because he is the 2nd best player in the fa but he is the youngest and could have some value.
Also signed raja bell with the waive fee
Trained thabeet, glen davis and jerryd bayless in perimeter shooting.
With my team with a log jam on 5 sg i decided to put newly acquired landry fields with raja bell on trading block and Timbs gave me the best deal
Kevin Love
For
Landry Fields, Raja bell, Tiago Splitter (comp added), next year 1st round pick (comp added)
I do lose my good back up defensive pf and landry fields wiht my 1st rounder but i get a moster defensive big man in kevin love.
I figure i can move him into the 5 and make him start, have thabeet back him up
Also signed dleaguer thunderbirds c Drew Cook 58 rating 24 years old 7'4 height. Figure i can develop some offense into him and hell be a decent project. Signed him for 5 year starting at 487k first year
Signed greiveis vasquez of the grizzlies for the waive fee
So far this is my line up
Pg - Jerryd bayless (newly resigned 6 years, Jose calderon (1 year 10.56 m) Greives Vasquez (1 yr)
Sg - Manu ginobli (1 year 14.11m),Kyle vernie (3 yrs), Cory brewer (5 yrs)
Sf - Byron Terry (3 ys), Jamie Teague (4yr rookie),
Pf - Glen Davis (5 yrs), Jj hickson (new 6 yr) , Lamar (new 6 yr)
C - Kevin Love (6 yr 88.99m) , Thabeet (1 yr 6.71 m) Drew Cook (5 years)
Roster runs at 14 man right now and still has 11.28 of the hard cap left. With ginoblis expiring and jose calderon ill get some cap room soon.
Saw kyle korver still on the market so i signed him to make it 15.
I have no draft picks for the next 2 years. But i think with this team i wont need to sign anyone else or draft anyone else.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
With the newly acquisition of kevin love it made my team have a log jam of mins on the big position, plus my first round pick sf eats up a lot of mins. So odom is unhappy.
I put odom with vasquez and the nuggets offered me there 1st round pick in 2 years and bird man.
I was a bit hesitant because bird man is on deep decline but i figured i could add bird man to be an insurance policy on love and thabeet. Plus i get a 1st rounder.
Jerryd bayless also got injured for 4 months,Decided to sign a pgsaw jeremy lin in a dleague team and decided to sign him to my team for 5 years. Hes another young cat that needs development but the cat is good. Scoring pg.
So new lineup looks like this
Pg - Jose Calderon , Jeremy lin , Jerry baydless (injured)
Sg - Manu Ginboli, Kyle Vernie, Corey Brewer
Sf - Byron Terry, Jamie Teague (rookie)
Pf - Glen Davis, JJ hickson, Birdman
C - Kevin Love, Hasheem Thabeet, Drew CookComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
i agree with him it is a nice offensive team but u need some defensive specialist man, even if theyre old or declining. Birdman of the nuggets would be a nice addition to that teamComment
