Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

My offense has been hot since Deng and Williams joined my lineup. Last game against the Bucks I scored 30+ points in every quarter except the 4th. Probably could have hit 30 that quarter too, but I slowed it down to prevent another melt down. The only thing is my defense allows almost 25+ a quarter. The Bucks were first in the league with the most fouls, so I exploited that and caused Villanueva to foul out. He had to be mad, playing his former team, getting shut down and fouling out. I also caused a couple other players to get 3-5 fouls on them.

So far against the Knicks, I scored 33 in the first, then I saved and quit so I could type this then go to bed. Anyways, they were worse than the Bucks with fouls. They were called with 11 fouls in the first quarter. I am going to keep going to the post because all 3 of their C's have 3 fouls. Shaq and Monroe are unstoppable this game, the first time both have played well in the same game all season. My PG, Williams, has also been hot. 12 points in the 1st Q. Last game he had 22 points, 3 assist, and 4 blocks. Don't know how he had 4 blocks, but he was swatting everything down.

My season seems to be turning around, but I don't know how well that is. I don't have my own draft picks, so me doing better and not making the playoffs only hurts the Bulls since they have my picks, I think. At 3-13 I am down by 8.5 or 9.5 games, but if my team keeps playing lights out, then I may be a lot closer to .500 by then end of the month. I am nearing an easy stretch of games with the Timberwolves and Raptors back to back, so maybe I can grab a few more wins before those games so I can be back in the playoff race.

I just started my official Celtics association. I'm through 3 quarters in the opening game with the Heat. I'm down 5, playing on 10 minute quarters (will bump to 12) on Pro with custom sliders. My stats look about right.

At the end of one I was down 11. Pierce, Rondo, and KG were sluggish but Allen was balling. He put up 9 in the quarter on 3-4 shooting (2-3 3pt, 1 and-one).

Went in at half down five. Nate Robinson provided a spark off the bench, and Perkins and Big Baby were able to take advantage of Miami's weak bench. Rested up my starters, and Pierce came back fresh and got a little mo' going into halftime.

Third quarter, Pierce went off as Allen continued to hit open jumpers. KG hit a few on the pick and pop with Rondo, but I can't seem to get Rajon going. He's got about 8 assists through 3 quarters but only 5 points, three of which are from the stripe. He gets fouled a lot but can't make FTs to save his life.

Oh well, I'll finish the game tomorrow after work. Hopefully it'll end with a big W to start the season.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

just simmed 4 seasons of charlotte bobcats..

2011 i traded around and got david west (who has an expiring contract, or at least i thought so, he actually had a player option i did not check lol).. i also got deng, josh howard and kirk hinrich.. so my starting looked was PG-Kirk, SG-J-Ho, SF-Deng, PF-GWall, C-West.. we werent very good, actually we were pretty bad the first season and finished with 6th worst record.. GWall was named DPOY, LBJ wins MVP (and he will for the 5 years that i sim lol), Miami Heat wins the chip.. Note: John Wall wasn't used much by the Wizards this year and he complains a lot about this but becomes Most Improved the following year..

2012 i drafted Perry Jones and Jared Sullinger both top 10 picks, 1 of the picks i got from a trade (i do fairly good trades only by the way, i did not abuse the cpu).. then i got wilson chandler off FA as my 6th man, and then during preseason traded West for Jermaine O'Neal, so my lineup now was PG-Kirk, SG-Deng, SF-GWall, PF-Perry Jones, C-Jermaine.. We became a very good defensive team, finished as 6th seed.. GWall again is DPOY, LBJ is MVP, and Heat win title..

2013 kirk's and deng's contracts ends and both opt to test free agency.. jemaine's contract also ends and i don't re-sign him.. i get russell westbrook from FA and he gets the "star" role off the bat, his ovr is 87 when i got him.. so starting 5 is PG-Westbrook, SG-Wilson, SF-GWall, PF-Jones, C-Sullinger.. we finish 6th again in the east (prolly should be better but there were a ton of injuries).. westbrook was named an all-star, and at end of season is 2nd team all-nba.. LBJ MVP.. but bobcats win over Heat 4-3 in eastern finals and then win 4-2 against the hornets and wins the championship! at last! westbrook is finals MVP..

2014 the auto-generated rookies of the past couple years are now starting to dominate the league lol.. started slow but got to a good finish and finished 4th in east.. got eliminated by heat who bcome eventual champs.. oh and LBJ MVP..

2015 GWall is now just my 6th man.. Perry Jones has become really good.. haven't finished the season yet but we probably wont be as good as past years..

EDIT: Interesting looking at the awards history, TOR rookies won the ROY for 4 straight years starting 2010 with Ed Davis LOL =))

            ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

Played game #8 w/ the Sixers visiting the AA Center. The 6ers got out to a 19 pt lead at the end of the 1st half, shooting 49% from the field, and getting to the line 12 times...making all FTs. They also turned me over 10 times...My chances looked pretty dim, until I finally figured out how to defend this 6ers team late in the 2nd qtr...wasn't really brain surgery as I predominantly played the 2-3 zone and made Philly beat me from the outside. Instead of playing man to man, which allowed for too much space for the 6ers attack, the 2-3 crunched down their lanes, and they soon went cold. There's your blueprint for beating PHI...

Dallas came back for a come from behind win, winning 110 to 101. A 14-2 run brought me back into the game in the 3rd qtr, came to within 4 of tying it up midway through the 3rd qtr, but PHI pushed out a little bit to regain a 10pt lead. Mavs kept battling, and eventually turned the page around the 8:00 min mark of the 4th qtr taking the lead, and eventually getting out to a double digit lead....

Mavs improve to 5-0 at home, and 5-3 on the year.

Dirk, Caron, and Marion were the only Mavs who finished in double figures. Dirk dropped 37 and 12, Caron dropped 31 and 5, and Marion 13 and 6 w/ 4 assists. Dirk also added 3 steals, and Caron 2 assists a 1 steal and a block. Iggy led all 6ers w/ 23 6 and 4. Philly shot a dismal 1-29 from the arc...Nocioni 0-12 (slider was set @ 50, guess I need to move it up a couple clicks?).

Next up a road game @ Nawlins...still looking for my 1st road win...

0-12 is pretty bad. Is 50 your mid-range setting? I've got, for the CPU, inside and close: 49, midrange: 51, 3pt: 53. Works really well for me. An open 10 footer is almost always going in but contested lane drives pop out on a realistic basis.

Sounds like a great game, though.

Make that 2-1 after an easy trouncing of the Raptors at Arco. No problems there, especialy after watching Borgagnoni fall to the floor in the first quarter clutching his back (out 1-2 weeks).

Tough stretch coming up though, with Nuggets and Lakers...

I'm having excellent games so far. I beat Dallas in a thriller, when Dirk missed a three to tie it with :10 to go, and I got beat by Houston by 8. I was getting crushed by the Rockets before making a great comeback in the 3rd, but fell short in the end. Yao Ming absolutely crushed me with 23 pts and 24 rebs. I had NO answer for him.

I think I'm gonna try and make a run at picking up Jason Terry (for Francisco Garcia and draft picks) - I think he will provide athleticism and scoring that the Kings lack.

I REALLY dig the atmosphere and playing with the surround sound up really loud. Great game.

I've dabbled with the association mode feature quite a bit and its awesome, i have simmed quite a few seasons (just for kicks)

but what im doing, and this prob seems crazy, but i control all 30 teams, with total-complete control over all GM decision making with all teams

its freakin awesome man, plus i got the best draft class from the 2kshare

the obama presentation is cool, actually more indepth that ea's madden11 obama cameo

i currently have 2 assoc.'s going, one with all 30 teams (as mentioned above) and 1 with the heat where im actually playing all of the games, 29 game season, on pro...im mainly doing it to get more and more gameplay practice, but so far i am 3-2 in my Heat season, with constant CPU trade offers for one of my 'big 3' ....lol

                  loving it man!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Since restarting my season, and opting to go with the Pacers instead of the Wizards, I've had a VERY tough start. Lost my first game in San Antonio, due to a very good performance by Tim Duncan. I couldn't stop him. Hibbert did slow him down quite a bit after I made that adjustment. I now know that Hibbert will be my primary defender the next time when I play them. When I did finally slow down TD, that's when Tony Parker reared his ugly head into the game, slashing in and finishing on some crazy layups. I ended up losing by 13 I think, maybe less.

The next game, Stephen Jackson and the Bobcats trounced on me early, and tore me apart. I could not stop them at all. Jax went off for 27 on me. When he passed, he found guys for the easy duece, like Nazr or Diop. I just couldn't contain their offensive arsenal. I was getting pretty discouraged, but I lost to two decent teams.

Coming home for my first home game against the Sixers it was a totally different story, as I led wire to wire for the double digit win. Granger had 43 points in this contest, and Hibbert had 7 blocked shots, to go along with his double double in points & rebounds.

In the second half of the home & home vs the Sixers, I came out and literally trounced them, winning by a 23 point margin.

I'm starting to really learn to play with the team, and have turned them into a quick scoring offensive team, who lets their defense (Hibbert, Hansborough, McRoberts) turn into quick transition buckets.

They're actually a lot of fun. Right now, Granger is leading the league in scoring after 4 games, with a 34.0 ppg average. It's great having a "go to" player, but he's not the overly dominant guy like the LBJ's, Wades, Kobe's, etc that you can cheese to win. He get's his baskets on a variety of slashes, spot up jumpers and step backs.

Hibbert has been great for me, as has Rush. Overall, I'm enjoying playing with them, because its a great challenge, but it's fun. I lose because "I lose", and I win because "I win".

Also, for the fans enjoyment, I also signed James "Flight" White. He was picked up for the minimum, so it wasn't too bad.

I have Dunleavy on the block, and was offered Hassan Whiteside and Jason Thompson for Dunleavy and my 1st rd draft pick. Should have taken it right away, but felt I was robbing them blind.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I just started the Association today with the Nets. I re-did the trade with Carmelo Anthony and made it go as it was successful. Devin Harris is on the Bobcats, Boris Diaw is on the Jazz. Derrick Favors and Andrei Kirilenko are on the Nuggets.

I signed Allen Iverson to be my PG to a 1 year deal, and Jordan Farmar's morale dropped, he is now upset and his rating went from 67-64. Sorry Jordan, but Melo and AI wanted to be reunited.

I have a pretty indepth rotation for Situations, I do not have the game infront of me right now but here is what I remember:

                      Defensive
                      - Quinton Ross (86 defensive awareness, 79 On-Ball Defense)

                      Quick
                      - Damion James (74 Quickness)

I will re-edit this post later for accurate descriptions. And, I might start a dynasty.

I keep hearing that there are tons of issues with this mode and some
player are holding off starting a franchise. But it seems that their are
a lot of players that are playing without waiting for a patch. My question
is are the issues that bad that the association mode is broken until the
patch is released. I still don't understand what the issue with "home court

Take it easy NolesFan, this aint brain surgery or nuclear brinksmanship. It's just a video game.

Go play your association! Enjoy it - have fun! If it aint perfect, so what? You're stressing over something not so important. Worse-Case Scenario? A patch comes out and you have to start over. Big deal.

                            Just go play my man!

6-2 with Orlando, I was messing around with the trade finder and decided to see what I could get for Vince Carter. I got some freakin great offers but there was one I just could not pass up. I sent him to the Knicks for Amare and either a 2011 or 2012 first round pick.
