I was shocked that they gave up Amare and a first round pick but I just couldn't turn down the deal. A young Amare and Dwight combo is gonna be killer for the next few season I play plus Reddick may be able to develop into the starting SG eventually.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

My Kings association is starting take some shape, after a disheartening 100-102 defeat to the Nuggets I managed to recover with 2 back to back wins against the Suns (No Nash, but now with David West) and an OT victory against the Hawks. at 18-12, I'm sitting in 6th place in the conference but I'm not expecting to finish in a playoff spot but it would be an added bonus to have a early post season run. If Tyreke stays healthy the sky is the limit for this team, and if my plan to bring Melo comes to life in the off-season I could have a franchise set for a few years

        PG - Jameer Nelson
        SG - Evans
        SF - Melo
PF - Thompson (love his jump-shot)
        C - Cousins

That's my plan for next season, if it doesn't happen I should have enough cap space to improve in the forward positions to take my team to the next level
        NFL - Giants]
        MLB - Cardinals

          Hedo Turkoglu
          2nd round pick

          for

          JJ Hickson
          Jamarion Moon

I really expected to get something better for Hedo, but this was the best looking deal I got as far as youth and potential. I really wanted Beasley but man, Minnesota wanted the world for that guy(steve nash lol). After 3 games, even though we lost to the blazers, Utah, and LA, we're getting better. Jason Richardson put up 36 vs Utah in a 105-101 lost. Steve Nash is putting up about 19-9 a game but 5 turnovers so far. I went right ahead and put JJ in the starting lineup and surprisingly, he's giving me 15-8. I originally thought him and warrick would fight for the starting spot, but he's 10 times better than him. Here's my rotation.

          Steve Nash
          Jason Richardson
          Grant Hill
          JJ Hickson
          Robin Lopez

          Bench:
Goran Dragic(he's really good this year)
          Jared Dudley
Josh Childress(great in this game as well)
          Warrick
          Frye

          Moon/Clark/Collins
After a few more games, it looks like JJ Hickson just isn't as dynamic around the rim as I'd want, at least not yet. He's definitely a work in progress. I moved him back to the bench as I was 2-7 and started Warrick vs the Nuggets. Man was that a great game. It was a neck and neck, fast paced, high scoring game all the way through.

Down 108-105 after a jr smith break away dunk after a TO, Jrich hits a 3 for me off a Steve Nash behind the back pass. Melo on the other side isolates grant hill on the left side, and hits a leaning jumper at around the Free Throw line. Nash then gets to the line and misses his first FT of the season!! Melo on the other end is isolated on the left side yet again, and spins back the to the FT line area and launches yet another fading jumper. Grant hill contests a little better this time, but it still drops. 112-109.

Jrich hits yet another 3 for me as its tied up with about 34 seconds I believe. Melo takes another jumper and hill is all over it as melo misses, just barely. With 21 seconds left, Nash gets doubled on the otherside of the court, I see it coming and hand it off to Lopez, and maneuver to get it back. I then step back and hit a jumper with Nash for the win...felt great. lol Definitely the best game I've played so far.

          Suns- 51 % FG
          Nash- 34 pts, 13 ast
          Jrich- 25 pts
          Warrick- 20 pts, 9 reb.

          Nuggets- 50% FG
          Melo- 38 pts, 8 reb(29 shots)
          Jr Smith- 28 pts.

I'm now 3-7, and despite my record, I think I'm ready for a run. Warrick is looking to be my starting PF for now, and the rest of my team is set right now.

At the end of one I was down 11. Pierce, Rondo, and KG were sluggish but Allen was balling. He put up 9 in the quarter on 3-4 shooting (2-3 3pt, 1 and-one).

Went in at half down five. Nate Robinson provided a spark off the bench, and Perkins and Big Baby were able to take advantage of Miami's weak bench. Rested up my starters, and Pierce came back fresh and got a little mo' going into halftime.

Third quarter, Pierce went off as Allen continued to hit open jumpers. KG hit a few on the pick and pop with Rondo, but I can't seem to get Rajon going. He's got about 8 assists through 3 quarters but only 5 points, three of which are from the stripe. He gets fouled a lot but can't make FTs to save his life.

Oh well, I'll finish the game tomorrow after work. Hopefully it'll end with a big W to start the season.
            I. LOVE. THIS. GAME.
Beat the Heat on a baseline J by Ray Allen with 2.3 seconds remaining. 92-90 Celtics. Garnett went to the line with 30.6 seconds left and hit 2 big FTs. My heart was literally thumping. What a game.

Then, I blew the Cavs out on the second night of the season. Won by 32 as 7 players reached double figures. KG led the way with 16 and 13. Can't wait to keep going.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Check out my Pistons. I only have 3 or 4 original players on the team. I have two save files of this association, this one, then one with only a few minor changes.

              Starting 5

              PG- Louis Williams (73)
              SG- Rip Hamilton (77)
              SF- Tayshaun Prince (76)
              PF- Luol Deng (77)
              C- Shaq (77)

              Remaining Players

              PG- Avery Bradley (65)
              SG- John Salmons (74)
              SF- Damion James (70)
              PF- Marreese Speights (72)
              PF- Jason Maxiell (71)
              C- Greg Monroe (67)
              C- Johan Petro (56)

I just recently acquires Damion James and Johan Petro, so I haven't played with them on the team yet. But so far since getting Deng and Williams my offense has been lights out scoring an average 30+ points over the past 2-3 games I have had them. My team is 4-13, but I have won 2 straight and 4 of the last 10. I started out 0-9, so my team is improving, or I am getting better at the game.

I feel like my team is a lot better than my record or rating says. I have solid backups at every position. Bradley and Monroe are both in the mid to high 60's, but both are 20 years old and play just as well as the starters in front of them. I'd say the center spot is my most consistent position if not the SG spot. Since getting Salmons too near the time I got Deng and Williams, hm and Rip both are putting up good numbers for me. At the center spot, if Shaq is struggling, then Monroe is there to put up good numbers and vice-versa. Then, sometimes both put up great numbers like my last game and my team dominates easily.

Last game Monroe had 22 points and 9 rebounds while Shaq had 30 points and 9 rebounds. They usually don't dominate in the same game, but this time they did and it was great. With those two doing so well and outmatching the competition I caused Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph to both foul out while Amar'e Stoudemire had 5 personal fouls.

So, does my team look improved, and does it seem realistic to have this roster?

I just traded Al Horford for Greg Odom sweet!!!! Now I have two shot blockers down low, pairing him with Josh Smith. Now im thinking about releasing or trading Bibby and starting Jordan Crawford at the point.
Seems like the only thing that matters when trading is ratings, I was surprised the trade went through.

I'm rolling with the Jazz this year. My team is 3-1 (lost to Durant and his 35 pt massacre).

I traded AK47 and Gordon Hayward for Gerald Wallace and DeSagana Diop (awful contract) and picked up Larry Hughes. My team looks like this:

                  PG: Deron Williams
                  SG: Raja Bell
                  SF: Gerald Wallace
                  PF: Al Jefferson
                  C: Mehmet Okur

                  Bench:
                  Paul Millsap
                  C.J. Miles
                  Larry Hughes
                  Sundiata Gaines
                  DeSagana Diop

I'm takin' Jerry Sloan to the chip before he retires!

What settings do you guys use to get roughly equal stats. Like if I'm playing 5 minute quarters what should I set the sim length per quarter too?

Also what about if I play 8 minute quarters?

I'm getting some great stats playing 11 minute quarters, on all-star default. My only complaint is excessive blocking.

If you're playing 8 min quarters, I'd try setting the sim quarters to 7 minutes, but I can't promise that'll work.

My team is on fire. I think Deng and Williams were exactly what my team needed. Started my season 0-9. I am now 5-13 and getting back into the playoff hunt. I doubt my streak will last much longer. I just beat the Bucks, Knicks, and then the Magic. I am playing Miami next, then the Magic again. Can't believe I actually beat the Magic in Orlando, so maybe I can split my next two games and maybe beat the Magic again in Detroit this time.

Without Amare we played a great game in Boston. It was tied at the half I went on a run to get up by 11 heading to the 4th. Boston made a run tied it, the game came down to the last minute. It was 91-88 and I lost Came down to two plays where Felton missed 2 FTS down 2 under a minute and with 25 secs left down 2 I stole an in bounce pass, but Randolph missed a hook shot in the paint. It was a beast game. Gallo had 16 in the first half but finished with 20. Moz was great with like 18 pts double digit rebounds( or close to it I think) and 2 or 3 blocks. Ant rand. was nice to. I can't wait for Amare to get back! 0-2 now
