Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

After solely playing My Player for the last week I decided to fire up the Ol' Bulls 'Chise. Played the first half against the Thunder on Sim/Allstar, jeez this game is different. Turned on Play Vision, plan to play the whole game tomorrow since today was just experimenting. 12 minute quarters. Shot stick jump shot timing, Real Player FT %.

Enough of that, this isn't the Game Play thread. Now to the Bulls. After playing around I found that is difficult to score since aside from Rose and Boozer close to none of the Bulls can create a shot. This "a play isn't being run so I'll stand in the same spot for all of the 24 seconds of the shot clock" thing is killing me. Hopefully I can get all this Iso-Motion nonsense down sooner or later since I have the Iso king, D. Rose, of course.

Picked up Omer Asik from 2K Share, 63 Ovr. If I plan on taking this association far I'll want him. Assigned John Lucas III to the Bulls and edited his contract to resemble the his real life contract. Also downloaded every CAP Rowe32 has made since the are excellent (D. Ebanks, D. Caracter, L. Harangody, L. Stephenson ETC.) I chose to do auto generate draft class since nobody out here has a good class for the Box. I was gonna use Rowes, but I didn't want to wait and decided screw it.

Fun game though. I'll mess around and look at some trades for a while, see what there is to offer. Around the trade deadline I'm gonna want to pick up a young SG that can score. Not to start, but to let develop for a while and have be the possible other player in the back court with Rose in a year of two.

Now 2-4 with the Sixers I'm gonna get about ten or 15 games into the season before I decided if I wanna make any moves or not.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

Finally! Won my first road game. Win comes @ NOLA as I win the home and home series w/ the Hornets. It was a very good game. NOLA had a slender 5pt lead after the 1st Qtr, but got out to as much as 15ps early into the 2nd qtr. However, the Mavs settled in and battled back to a 59-58 halftime score w/ the Hornets up by 1.

The Mavs scored 7 unanswered to start the 3rd, and would never relenquish the lead after that...getting out to as much as 12pts, and NOLA never coming within more than 4 pts of tying the game. Although Dallas' lead was only at 5pts to start the 4th Qtr, it would get to as much as 12 again in the 4th.

The Mavs went onto win 112-107, a late 3 from Marcus Thornton put NOLA within 5 pts, but it came with about 15 seconds left in the game.

Dirk was huge again, scoring 44pts, grabbing 11 boards, and dishing out 4 assists while securing 4 steals. Jason Kidd had his best game of the young season with a 6pts/18assists effort, and only committing 3 turnovers. For the rest of the Mavs starters: Caron finished w/ 16pts, 5rebs, 4assists, and a block. Marion 12 and 5, but in only 27 minutes. And Tyson Chandler finished w/ 4 and 14 while blocking 4 shots in 35 minutes of action.

Jason Terry provided a spark off the bench with 18pts, and played 32 minutes; hitting 2 3's in the process. Steve Novak also brought some much needed scoring in the 1st qtr when both Dirk and Marion sat down w/ 2 fouls - he added 8pts - all in the 1st qtr, 6pts coming off of 3pt'ers.

Hornets starters were productive, but their bench was not. They again got beat in the paint, and outscored in transition pts which translated to their 2nd straight loss to Dallas. David West put his last horrible game behind him though leading the way in scoring for the Hornets w/ 29 and 7. NOLA also had 3 of their starters finish w/ double-doubles: CP3 12 and 15 w/ a stl, Ariza 15 and 10, and Emeka Okafor 13 and 18 w/ also 2dimes, 2steals, and 2blocks. Marcus Thornton was NOLAs 2nd leading scorer w/ 20 pts, 12 coming off of his four 3's.

Next up is Chicago, then on the road again...

I should be getting Haywood back in 1-2 weeks. It'll probably force me to move DeShawn Stevenson or Brian Cardinal to the IR since I like using Steve Novak at the 3 and 4 for some instant offense. DeShawn Stevenson has no role on my team, and would only see significant minutes if I suffered an injury to two backcourt players. He's got a $4.5million expiring deal which makes for some good trade bait. A deal that interests me is moving Stevenson for Charlie Villanueva. It would basically be a "get out of jail free" card for the Pistons who have Charlie V locked up 4 the next 4 yrs (3yr+1player option). Thoughts?

Yeah that seems realistic, hopefully he's not always injured like last year in your association lol

Gonna start one later today with my Lakers. Hoping to finish out the "Kobe Era" and see how many rings I can win. Then I plan on rebuilding around Bynum and see how Shannon Brown progresses.

Im the Nets and in 2 games i blew 4th qtr leads, both my fault. since they usually only have 1 deep threat on the court at once, i think they are an easy team to defend. i dont even show wade any special treatment because i think lebron being on the court makes him irrelevant. if you play a 2-3 defense it negats alot of their athleticsm. it does help in my case that i have a 6'9 sf, 6'10 pf and 7' center though.

Anybody made any good moves with the Sixers that have worked out well? I am currently 2-4 and am trying to hold out on making moves but I don't know how many more games under 500 I can get before I have to shake some things up.

Wow, intentional foul is broken. I was down 15 points to start the 4th qtr. Got it down to 2 with 20 seconds left and intentional fouled never worked. I tried the sprint plus clicking the right stick, pressing it in every direction, towards the player. I tried the back button. I even tried turning late game fouls on. It never fouled Miami, so they just dribbled the remaining time off the clock. Made me so made I actually threw my controller. Had they never switched it from the back button I wouldn't have had this problem.

I like simming quite far ahead just to see what kind of team I can build, and roll with them once I get excited with a squad.

I am the Nets, and simmed the first season hoping for a shot at Carmelo in the offseason. I was terrible and in last place around January, so I decided to start dismantling the team. I traded Harris to the Suns who were just out of contention, and looking for some talent to make a push. I got their first rounder, thinking they are likely willing to give up a 1st for a great replacement for Nash down the road and instant offense now.

Lucky for me, Nash and Harris both had serious injuries and the Suns tanked along with the Nets. I got the 1st and 5th overall picks, and nabbed Harrison Barnes and a top5 SG prospect. I also got Marcus Thornton to be my 6th man and made Terrence Williams my PG.

I simmed the next season, and we were just as bad unfortunately. I wound up again with the #1 OVR pick, and had traded Thornton to a playoff contender for their 1st overall pick (21st or so in the draft). When I got to FA, Evan Turner had decided not to continue his career with the 76ers and took his talents to North Jersey.

Heading into year 3 which I will play, my lineup is

PG Austin Rivers: #1 overall pick
SG Evan Turner: #2 overall pick
SF Harrison Barnes: #1 overall pick
PF Derrick Favors: #3 overall pick
C Brook Lopez: #10 overall pick

                        Bench:

                        PG Jordan Farmar
SG Alec Burks #5 overall pick
                        SF Terrence Williams
                        PF Lamar Odom/Kenyon Martin
                        C Lucas Nogueira: 7ft #17 overall pick

Just had a crazy game in my hornets franchise(made a trade for granger).

Lost to Utah 107-106, Thornton hits an open 3 to go up by 1 then Al Jefferson sink a mid range shot to give Utah a 1pt lead 10 seconds left. I wanted to go an open shot to either Thornton or Granger or CP3 driving if there was a lane. I hit Granger on a screen with 4 seconds left to go back up by 1, but then Deron Williams hits a long range 3 with CP3 all over him to win the game

Started an Association with the Cavs. Simmed the first year, then had an incredible offseason. Released everyone except Daniel Gibson, JJ Hickson, Varejao, and I think Brian Skinner. I traded Mo Williams and my #9 overall pick for the number one overall pick, and Tyrus Thomas. I released Thomas. Then I drafted Harrison Barnes.

I had an incredible free agency period, going in with 35 million dollars to spend and came out with Zach Randolph, Aaron Brooks, Jamal Crawford, Samuel Dalembert, Larry Hughes, Maurice Evans, and a couple star D-Leagers. Just finished playing against The Rockets in Houston. I lost thanks to a Kevin Martin 3 pointer with 0.2 seconds left. It was heartbreaking, I lost 67-66. But Harrison Barnes was a beast with 17 points, 6 assists, and 11 rebounds. The future looks very good for me and the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers.
