Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I was able to get Melo with the Nets through 2 possible deals. First, I must recommend trading Ross and using trade override to get the picks the Nets actually have. The Nets have a total of 10 picks over the next 3 drafts.

The first scenario that worked for me was

Favors, Murphy, and 2 1st Rounders for Melo.

The Nets end up being a 77 overall, but have horrible big men (Lopez is the only 70+ rated guy.. and he's an 81).

    The second scenario was:

Harris, Favors, Humphries (or Ross) and a 1st Rounder for Melo and Afflalo.

The Nets end up being a 75 overall which surprises me. The point guard situation isn't very strong with Farmar and Ben Uzoh, but Terrence Williams can be a point guard as well (I edited him correctly, his natural position is a 2, and his secondary is a 1). But the Nets will still have be okay in the front court since Murphy is the starter (much better than Kris Humphries or Joe Smith).

I definitely prefer the 2nd option, and will probably pull it off mid-season once I start my Association after the patch with good rosters.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just started y Nets association and i wanted to make a big splash. Since Chris Paul was rumbling about leaving the Hornets (...somewhat) here's how i pulled off a somewhat bockbuster.

      Nets get:
      Chris Paul
      Andray Blatche

      Hornets get
      Gilbert Arenas
      Derrick Favors
      Nets 1st round 2011

      Wizards get
      Devin Harris
      Troy Murphy

Overall i think its a decent trade. Hornets get a young big to take West's place eventually and a first rounder, as well as Gil to take the scoring load.
The Wiz get 1 mil off the books and until then a decent rebounder along with a shooter at the 4, and a decent option at the 2 with Harris. MAde the nets an 81 overall. Bench is kind of weak but i'll run with this team for the time being and see if any offers for some quality depth comes along, maybe even for a pick.

Also I think i have some space in the offseason to make a run at Melo if he goes into FA. Off to play my first game against the pistons and see how it goes.

Wow! Nice job on snatching both those guys, and probably Melo as well.

I'm actually just gonna pull of a Melo trade, and wait for Chris Paul.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Things are getting interesting in my Wizards association.

I easily beat the NY Knicks 90-71 but the victory came at a price. John Wall was injured and will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks. Prior to that game he had a streak of 7 games of scoring at least 16 and getting at least 12 assists. My offense was finally coming together.
Next game was against the Lakers.

I was fully expecting to get blown out again, as the previous week I lost to them 113-95. And this time I was without J. Wall.

And that is how it started. Down 14-6 to start the game. But then...Kobe got hurt 7 minutes in. In those 7 minutes he had 7 pts, 1 stl, 2 ast.
After that I stormed back in the 1st quarter ending with a 30-21 lead. 2nd Quarter saw the Lakers outscore me 23-20 by relying on Gasol.

In that 1st half Pau finished with 21 pts and was carrying the Lakers. Gilbert was making up for the loss of Wall by scoring 17 in the half and dishing 4 assists. After the half it was me ahead 50-44.

2nd half I focused on stopping Gasol and forcing the shooters to beat me which they should have. LA scored 62 pts in the 2nd half. But the Wizards scored 63

It was easily my best performance of the year. With the loss of Bryant the Lakers had no one to play the 2 spot. Phil was trying to stop Young and Gil with Walton, Blake, Brown, and even running Artest at the 2. At one point the Laker's court was Bynum, Warrick, Gasol (at the 3, lol), Blake, and Fisher. Quite simply LA could not stop my backcourt.

Andray had 20 pts 14 boards. Hinrich had 8 pts 10 ast. Young had 27.

And Gilbert had 37 pts with 9 ast. He took over in the 4th and my crowd started the MVP chant!!

Sadly my next game saw me have my worst performance of the year, losing to the F'n Nets 101-85. My offense was out of rhythm for the entire game and I ended up shooting below 40%. I missed Wall running the O and forgot to adjust my playbooks to reflect Wall's absence and having Gil start at the 1.

My record now sits at 11-13 with games with Miami, Charlotte, Chicago, SA, and Hoston. Then 2 straight with the Pacers.

It looks as if it will be a struggle to reach that 8th seed as I am guessing I need to be right at .500 to sneak into the playoffs.

Hey man, the Nets are actually better this season. Last season was the past, only 3 players are left from that team, even the coach is gone!

Good luck on getting those wins though. Hopefully, Wall will come in after only 2 weeks.

I know, but to beat the Lakers only to turn around and get beaten soundly by the Nets sucked.

I like how injuries and length change sometimes after the actual game. After the Nets game Wall was projected for 1-2 weeks but it should have still been 2-4.And in the game against the Lakers Kobe was said to have suffered a lower back strain and be out a few weeks (That is what Dorris said anyway, lol) but after the game I checked the injury report and turns out it was just back spasms and he is listed as day-to-day. That is a nice touch.

Wall needs to come back. He was averaging 19 pts and 9 assists and I cannot replace his production and defense.

Started a Cleveland chise first year made it to playoffs and lost to heat first round , made a few moves during the season that got me 4 2nd and 1 first round pic that ended up being a 2nd overall I drafted Perry Jones out of Baylor and made major off season moves so team looks like this
                Shaun Livingston, jrue holiday
Jr Smith, Courtney Lee, James white
Richard Jefferson, hedo, Josh Howard, Perry Jones
                Charlie villanueva, hakim warrick,jajuan Johnson

So I'm 8-1 right now playing every 3rd game. Just came back to beat the hawks by 12 in ot after being down 7 with 2 minutes left, barnes and who else kd took the game over, westbrook on an inbounds play with 2 seconds left got a pass as he was cutting to the basket for the game tying lay up as time expired. Then I put the boots to hotlanta outscoring them 14-2

After what may have been westbrooks best performance I traded him to the sixers for kyrie irving and louis williams.

I have been trying everything to get mcgee, and I just can't do it.

Somehow we are a 94 overall

Made a big move in my Lakers chise, since Fisher is getting old and I noticed he is slower than most of the younger PG.

                    Cavs get:
                    Lamar Odom (PF)
                    Shannon Brown (SG)
                    Steve Blake (PG)
                    12' 1st Round Pick

                    Lakers get:
                    Mo Williams (PG)
                    Leon Powe (PF)
                    11' 1st Round Pick
                    Joey Graham (SF)

Needed a back up SF since Matt Barnes went out for the year with a torn MCL. Mo will be replacing Fisher, who will become my Sixth Man. Leon Powe, Joey Graham, and Sasha Vujacic will be coming off the bench as Role Players.

                    Starting 5

                    Andrew Bynum (C)
                    Pau Gasol (PF)
                    Ron Artest (SF)
                    Kobe Bryant (SG)
                    Mo Williams (PG)

Stromed out of the gate 15-3 and with the Thunder. Then I lost Durant(strained back 1-2 weeks) at half @ New Jersey, still beat them and the Raptors, then dropped two straight to Golden State and Chicago. That makes it a sweep by the Bulls on me since they also took me opening night at home. I have no answer for Boozer and their D is tough, best team I've played, but Miami and the Lakers are still to come. Record now stands at 17-5 tied for 1st in the West.

My Favorite team is Toronto Raptors. I really was angry when Bosh left the team but thats life. Well i decided to start with my team(it must be the worst team in the game) and with the writh trades i must say im going pretty well.I use nogster roster and js sliders which ,by the way, are great. Started the Asocciassion really bad but im ok now.

                              Just started my Suns chise...
currently 4-0. Destroyed the Spurs in my last game. Richardson was all over the place as he was nailing shots from everywhere as he tallied a game high 29 pts while Nash was also hot in the assist dept with 15. Robin Lopez looks to be the new Amare. currently notching a double double.
The current team standings in the northwest division are a wee bit unrealistic as the Twolves are 4-1 and their wins have come from good teams. And in their wins, Beasley has been a beast.
The Knicks also signed AI while the Wizards signed Larry Hughes back. While looking at the stat sheets it seems Agent zero is back to his old ways as he notched 46 pts in a recent game.

this is exactly the only complain I have with this game. There'll be a lot more, and big names after big names too. The game is perfect for me aside from this part of the game. Can't turn off the CPU trading though, just wouldn't be realistic. I hope the 2K devs notice is at tweak it a little. Other than that I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

Back to topic, im in my second season simmed the first 10 games and went 4-6. Will play the next game against Houston but then Portland offered Rudy Fernandez for Xavier Henry straight up, went to see if I can ask them to add a 2nd round pick and they okay'd.

Now Rudy will get the playing time he's asking.
