Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I did my Association with the Nets. I traded away some pieces for the Cavs first round pick, wihch paid off. They were the worst team in the league, and were awarded the 2nd pick. I picked Perry Jones, and he's an 81 OVR PF. In the 2nd year, here's my team.

    PG: Harris - 79
    SG: Evan Turner - 81
    SF: Wesley Johnson - 79
    PF: Amare - 86
    C: Brook Lopez - 85
    6th man: Perry Jones - 81
    PG - Farmar

I don't remember the other guys, but I'll check back. I traded for Turner and Johnson, obviously, getting rid of some picks and Terrence Williams and Anthony Morrow and I belive Travis Outlaw. It doesn't look too much like the Nets, but I made sure to keep Harris and Lopez. I might try to trade Amare soon for a good SF and make Wes Johnson my 6th man. Last year my team was somewhere around 22nd in the league, but progression and PErry Jones have moved it to the 4th best I believe. I'm 3-1 so far in 2011.

Now 0-2 after losing to the Warriors 102 - 88. Bad 3rd quarter again......This could be the potential bug I'm reading about.

Griffin beastly again though 21 pts 17 rebs 5 asts 2 stls and a block. I just need to get some wing scoring and I might be able to record a win!

Problem is my next 5 games are Dallas, San Antonio & OKC at home and then Denver & Utah on the road, including two back to backs.

It could be a long season........

Griffin for Rookie of the year though!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

Love me some JET. Having that guy come off the bench is surely a luxury. Terry propeled my Mavs to a BIG road win over the Spurs, the first game of a back-to-back (@ Spurs then vs MIA). Caron Butler started off the game 0-4, and was benched midway through the first in favor of Terry.

Shawn Marion also had his best game of the season, and was a difference maker early on when it seemed I could only find offense from him and Terry.

The Spurs through most of the 1st half maintained a 10 pt lead, but late in the 2nd qtr I finally broke through. There had been 3 seperate times where I had broken through that 10pt lead, gotten it to 6, only to miss an opportunity to cut it to 4, and then watch the Spurs jump back up to a 10pt lead again. But finally late in the 2nd I got and1 from Dirk, and managed to cut the deficit to 5 making it 55-50 at the half.

In the 3rd qtr I managed to hold the Spurs to 18 pts while scoring 24 myself, and took a 74-73 lead into the 4th qtr.

In the 4th qtr I was able to get out to a 7pt lead, and the game turned into a real battle. Had the Mavs playing some good D, and playing tight on TP, McD, RJfeff, and Manu. SAS took what the D was giving them, and went to George Hill but he was cold and shot SAS into a hole.

With about a 1:40 left, Manu hit a BIG 3'pter to tie the game at 93 all. Then Jason Kidd, having only scored 4 pts through 3 qtrs, made two clutch baskets. One ended up being the go ahead basket, a layup slicing through the lane, that put Dallas up 99-97. However, there was still 10 seconds left, and the Spurs called a timeout to draw up one last play to tie or win the game. The shot went to Manu, but it bricked off the right rim and Dallas came back to win a close one in San An-tone.

          Pts: 99 DAL -- 97 SAS
          FG: 47% DAL -- 43% SAS

I am. Currently sitting at 4-4, playing 9 minute quarters on All-star. I made a couple trades but nothing too major. Deron Williams is averaging aroud 22.5 PPG and 11.0 APG. Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap are combining to make a good low-post duo. I'll have to go more indepth later.

also i dont like not being able to extend or renegotiate player contracts during the season

besides that, the game is perfect!
You can extend people during the season, but it has to say under their contract status that they want to sign an extension with you, or something along those lines. The option will then pop up. If they don't want to discuss it with you, the option won't pop up as they are not currently interested in negotiating an extension. For example, I started an association with the Heat and 8 games in James Jones said under his contract status he wanted to discuss signing an extension, I then signed him to another 1+1 deal, giving him another year with me for the minimum. I do like how the contracts are realistic in this game.

Started a Nuggests franchise. Probably going to wheel and deal my way into trading Melo for Lebron or Durant, I just can't be good with him.

Meanwhile, I traded JR Smith and a pick for Darren Collision from the Pacers. Put him at PG and now Billups is my SG. Currently rolling on this 29 game year. Beat Cleveland by 20 (those uniforms are atrocious) and am currently 4-3

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

Thinking of making a move on James Posey. He's got the size I need, won't be losing any outside scoring that Stevenson would've given me had I been giving him regular minutes, and he's a vet whose won before.

He's got a 2yr deal, the Pacers are at 4-10, and Posey's been played sparingly. Indy has more than enough swingmen (Granger, George, Dunleavy), and they'd be getting $4mil in cap relief. Problem is, giving up Stevenson isn't enough cap-wise, and adding someone like Steve Novak doesn't offer enough cap-relief either. Guess I'd have to offer Cardinal, but he's actually someone I'd use. Don't want to offer Mahinmi either because he's played well as Tyson Chandler's backup (due to Haywood being injured) + has a 2yr deal.

                    Thoughts?

I do. In 2nd year now, after 2-2 start I won 8 straight and bumped lvl to superstar in my last game vs Celtics. I signed Troy Murphy, Aron Afflalo and Carlos Delfino in offseason. I traded Millsap to GSW for Reggie Williams and 1st draft pick cause I couldnt do anything with him and I needed SF as AK signed with Philly. Cause of this move Big Al avg 26pt, 12rb and I hope he will be one of main candidates to MVP award.

                      My roster:
                      Deron (24pt, 11asst)
                      Afllalo
                      Williams
                      Murphy
                      Big Al

                      Jordan Crawford
                      Anthony Morrow
                      Bryant Richards (rookie)
Memo (hopin for 6th man award)
Big Fes (beast under the def board)

The Association mode is broken!! I got through about 6 games in my association with the Raptors, then realized I could use the Jordan shoes to help my players out. I put the 3 pointer shoes on Bargnani and the dunk shoes on Ed Davis, the next game Bargnani had the 3 pointer icon beside his name when he had the ball, an Davis had the dunk icon beside his. So, after the game I went to check the roster ratings, and Bargnani had a 97 3 pointer rating and Davis had a 94 dunk rating (his real dunk rating is below 70 I think). I changed the stats back to normal and played a game, and it happened again! I'm also having problems with the weekly practices increasing the player ratings way more than they should and setting the player trade values to 1 star! This has completely ruined my experience with the Association! I'm going back to My Player mode (which I was bored with because of the lack of play calling). I might just stop playing for a while until they get these issues fixed!!!

Just played @ miami for the first time in 2k11. Lebron KILLED ME...dropped 46 and had some amazing plays. DWade added 23. Ended up losing by 11. Only reason I hung in there is because CP3 played out of his mind, and Ariza was hot.

                            humbled.

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

Won a close one vs the Heat 107-102. Mavs protected their home court to go 9-0 at home, and outscored Miami 32-22 in the 4th Qtr. Dirk dropped 32 adding 5 boards and 2 blocks, shooint 14-29 from the field, and Jason Kidd finished 3 rebounds shy of a triple double w/ a 16/7/12 line in 33 minutes. Caron Butler added 17, but shot 5-15 from FG range. While Shawn Marion got it in on both sides of the court dropping 14, grabbing 8 boards, dishing 2 assists, and nabbing 4 steals.

Wade was 10-24 in the game w/ 20 pts, and Chris Bosh...once I put Shawn Marion on him for good, was shut down w/ only 12 and 11. Lebron though was unstoppable, he was doubled, and slowed down some, but he still managed 30 and added 4 boards and 4 assists.

The big deciding factor in this win was FTAs. Dallas got to the line 27 times shooting 77%. Joel Anthony committed 5 fouls, and the rest of the Heat were committing them too.

Next was visiting Houston...this was the "Hold the Fat Lady" game...as I came from behind down 10 to start the 4th, and eventually down as much as 14 early in the 4th, to win 101-94 and unlock that achievement.

                              Keys to victory?
                              1. Houston shot 29% in the 4th qtr.
                              2. Houston was held to 18 pts in the 4th qtr.
                              3. Yao Ming managed only FG in the 4th.

Kevin Martin (24pts) and Aaron Brooks (16 pts -- 4 3pt'ers) finished the game a combined 13-34. They shot Houston out of it in the 4th, but in the first half both guards were on fire. Yao was a monster finishing w/ 27pts/20rebs.

For Dallas Dirk lead the way w/ 29 and 7 adding 4 assists, 3 stls, and 6 blocks. Dirk was also a cool 14-19 from the field.
