i normally play out atleast 3 or 4 yrs in association mode.. i simmed a few seasons just to test it out.. 2k has a lot of work to do for the patch.. roles n morale suck!!.. guys who are normally set as 6th men demand trades because of lack of PT although in real life they are perfectly fine with being the 6th man (i.e. Lamar Odom or Jamal Crawford).. or teams start guys who rated higher although they come off da bench in real life (i.e. JR Smith or James Harden).. come on 2k!.. one of the best things about rebuilding a team is getting a great mix of starters n bench players.. in 2k10 i kept having to trade my 6th man away cuz sooner or later his morale would drop cuz he wanted starters minutes.. even when he was winning the 6th man award!!..

and the lack of trades n FA activity sucks too.. teams are constantly changing in the NBA.. trying to improve or rebuild or get younger or find that one missing player to win it all..

n it really makes no sense that every team in the NBA has become unbeatable at home.. one year da Bobcats went 37-4 at home.. really??..

i hope this gets fixed soon..

Completely agree! However, the morale issue can be worked around by just turning player roles off and morale/team chem off as well. That's no biggie t me.

The road records being so bad for every team HAS to be addressed. As far as the FA and trades...I really haven't noticed lr looked into it. I can deal with lack of trades honestly, but I can see how some wouldn't like it.

Lack of trades and FA signings is easily fixed by downloading a customized draft class from 2KShare or editing the draft class you have and bumping the skills and potential down. The reason this fixes it is because with the rookies coming up so good (3-5 80's, 20th picks and sometimes later were in the 70's) teams didn't need to trade or sign free agents as they were building through the draft and acquiring young players.

Run a test where Rose average 9 ppg in 30 mins

infact check the metric stats within the game to see if all those players u listed were productive or not

Also the game doesnt look at 2009....

Have KD average 30 ppg in 2010 then edited him back to the bench the next year so his production stinks and watch how progression works.
alright i will test this tommorrow.
im not opposed to these guys progessing by any means, i'm just worried they will progress to fast.

like irl in the off season its not uncommon to hear guys say, "i've been working on my outside game, or been working on ball security or i'm going to work on my defense"
rarely a guy improves in that many different areas in one offseason, let them develop over time.
i want to see all of these guys develop but not so fast.

Also I think that assigning the right role, potential and personality to the players will help to prevent strange trades and complaints.

if you turn of morale, roles, and chemistry what does this do to the number of trades? last year turning off roles / chemistry created havoc where there was an insane number of trades each month with players being traded numerous times, sometimes from one team to another multiple times.

I'm worried they spend too much time on other parts of the game, and didnt' thoroughtly test out the association mode.
Very disheartening. Just when I thought I would stick with this game for the long haul.

How long do you guys think it will take for them to address this?

Haven't tested that out, but I turn trades off until Feb 1st anyway, so there's not that many period. The problem with one player being traded over and over thru the season I believe is fixed though.

And I played with all that stuff ON last year(2k10), and the trades like u are mentioning were happening.

Rarely would you see a 60 guy if so, he's undrafted....

75 should be max for rookies...

there is no room for improvement in this game which has a great progression system

                    Thank god for customization!

I dont think its a bug, I just think its the AI using logic and building thru the draft...

not much to choose from if the rating range is on 75-99 among players...

It needs to be 50-95 with a average starter being in the low 70's (70-75) and rookies coming in between 50-75 with variety at the potential rating
It's funny how 2k games have always had this potential problem. I was also someone who simmed deep into Association and every time I'd find super teams and players that became way better than they should.

The question is, what ratings are changing that are making them so high rated? I don't remember watching the progression of players on a rating by rating basis unless they were on my own team...

Do players get more athletic? Not enough to matter. They shouldn't even become that much better at shooting. It's almost like instead of growth potential (that doesn't seem to ever cap) they should have a cap for each individual rating. Like say a rookie SF comes into the league and his 3 point rating is 77, the max it can ever reach would be 83. But just depending on the player and his play style impose a cap on each individual rating so that someone can grow, but that they stop. An A+ potential would just reach their caps more quickly...

Awareness is the only stat that should grow uncapped, but even then it needs to grow correctly... and certain players should still have a cap (Like Zach Randolph... heh.)

                    Just my 2c...

2k told us in assoc. mode insight that teams will now play differently, but if the coaches get fired guess what. they take the coach sliders with them and the new coach hired in setttings will take effect.

think doc rivers style with the knicks or gsw style with lakers, whatever.
                      its important.
But isn't this SUPPOSED to happen? Whenever a team hires a new coach, that coach brings their own style with them, unless the coach is very similar to the last one. I think it's realistic that if you're in your association and fire a coach (or one of the CPU teams does), then you're going to get a different look and feel.

                            PC is different from PS3.

In the first simmed association season there were a few sweeps in the playoffs, closer scores in general, and better teams winning more often on the road.

In addition the touches setting doesn't seem to dominate in simmed games.

The Hornets traded a draft pick for a SF (can't remember who) and still had Ariza, Pondexter, and Stojakovic.

So far I've run one test sim. Some red flags I saw:

                                - Homecourt advantage is out of control. Everybody dominates the schedule at home, then is absolutely putrid on the road.

                                - 9 of the playoff series' went 7 games and there was an 8-over-1 upset.

                                - Houston was the #1 seed, Dallas did not make the playoffs even though they had no major injuries and traded for Bogut. You're telling me a rotation of Dirk, Kidd, Bogut, Butler, Marion, Terry, Haywood and Barea is not a playoff team? And the Clippers are?

                                - Bogut was traded. I forget who he was dealt for, but I'm pretty sure it involved Tyson Chandler as the centerpiece. Which is pretty ridiculous. Other than that though, I will say that the rest of the trades weren't too bad.

                                - Morale system needs work. It's literally impossible to use the Celtics, as Shaq, JO, Delonte and Nate all demand 6th man roles or better. Shaq's morale was ok after I raised his mpg, but the other 3 demanded a trade. Lamar Odom was mad. Crawford ended up starting, as they moved Joe Johnson to the 3 even though his secondary position is not SF.

                                - Devin Harris was All-NBA 1st Team, putting up 30 a night. CP3 averaged like 14/8.

I'm gonna run a test sim with morale off, and see what happens.
