Also since they had the adidas Crazy 8s in last year I'm hoping they remain for this year, because that is the shoe that the 1997-98 Kobe Bryant wore.

Re: Attention to Detail in NBA's Greatest Mode

This is my first post about key player traits.

This is one of the reasons I asked for an Off-hand passing and Off-hand shooting tendency for players in the wishlist thread.

        Kendall Gill (1992-93 Charlotte Hornets):

He's ambidextrous. Despite shooting right handed, his dunks were almost exclusively performed with his left hand. He loved to drive left and throw it down left handed.

          The hairy guys...

I will start with the 1990-91 Golden Sate Warriors.

          Chris Mullin:

          6'6" 1/2
          Point-Forward

Noticed on the Dr J screenshot that they still have the NBA logo on the Sixers jerseys. Much like the 85 Bulls Ervings sixers should have no NBA logo on their jerseys....

One thing 2K must also include is the old school referee uniforms and the old Spalding ball.

                Referee 1970 to 1996:

                Referee 1950's and 1960's:

                Old Spalding

The old backboards and old rims would be a huge addition too for the older teams of the 60's (70's just the rim)

                60's backboard:

Would be cool, don't know if they can get them all. Most important I think are the coaching tendencies and playbooks in order for each team to mimic their real life counterparts.

I don't think they pay much attention to these things but they should! If nothing else, sweatbands on the elbow (and higher... bicep). People have been campaigning for this for years. You could do it in games from 90's so it shouldn't be so hard in 2011. It's essential for someone like Penny. That was his signature look after his rookie season.

Would be nice if they could customize it with "Penny 1" on it too.

I'm really hoping the rims in the early era games are not breakaway. For some reason though, I feel like that won't be able to happen. I just have this feeling that some dunk animations are completely set around the rim breaking away and it won't be able to be adjusted or something like that.

guess we won't find out till the game is released...2k did say they did a lot of research for the classic teams but i think in the term of tendencies and individual player packages...

i really hope to see classic courts as well...

Cover Athletes signatures, traits and mannerisms

These are the small details, that make the game more unique.

Magic's and Bird's signatures: layups, jumpers and passes.

Passing should be a main focus for both of these players, as they deserve heir own passing packages.

Bird: Behind the shoulder pass, overhead pass, different touch pass animations.

Magic: Cross court bullet pass, bullet bounce pass, off the drive kick pass, off the dribble no look pass.

                              Magic

He's most noticeable mannerism was his big SMILE . He was smiling almost all the time on the court. He made those kick passes and layups look beautiful. He had this tendency to play with his back towards the defender from way up the high post when playing one on one and direct the offense, because of his size. Eventually when he got to a mid post position, he would start posting up.

Most of all, he was a true sportsman, the team leader and always shook hands or hugged his opponents at the start and end of games.

The famous pre-game kiss routine with Isiah Thomas

                              Bird

Despite not being athletically gifted, Larry had an arsenal of quick moves and his play was lethal starting in from a triple thread position. He was a great post up player, he could play with his back to the basket, he could shoot, he could pass, he could ball fake and dribble past defenders. The one trait that most stands out in Larry's play was his hustle both on offense and defense. He always had this focused, cold look in his eye and like Magic he could make long range passes and also added some flair to them, especially in his touch passes.

                              Jordan

NBA 2K11 certainly was a starting point for this with their cover star Michael Jordan:

First and most noticeable with "the tongue" and one handed palm ball-fake . They also included that sort of bubble gum chewing gesture on him on some instances (random) and his characteristic stance while looking on the free-throw shooter (grabbing his shorts for a small breathe, although he doesn't actually grab his shorts  ).

His pre-game routines are also spot on, be it his powder toss to the commentators or touching his feet with his hands before the tip-off jump ball.

Now going back to Jordan, it would be nice to see more of his mannerisms. For example, he did not only palm the ball for faking shots, but also for faking passes and protecting the ball:

Also there was a very characteristic stance he had as much as the grabbing the shorts and resting on his knees one (maybe even more) which was with his hands on his waist, either on a normal position or with his hands facing his lower back.

Another thing he did sometimes when directing the offense wasuse his non dribbling hand to direct players and point into positions:

Something he always did on the court and in pre-game was SMILE . As determined & focused MJ could be, he also smiled a lot in the court, be it having a little chat with a teammate, opponent, referee, fan or coach... or after making an awesome play or just plain simple being on the court. He actually smiled frequently.

For some reason I see him and every other single player in NBA 2K11 making way too much hyped/pumped-up and sometimes "angry" gestures. There has to be a balance in this.Last but not least, he should have a 90's dunk package as in the 90's he dunked differently than in his early years. He didn't rocked the cradle or made reverse dunks. His dunks were more one handed tomahawks, one handed and two handed flair or his famous tomahawk leaner dunk.

He had a great leap to block shots, I would like to see that in the game. He had this signature block were he came from behind and blocked shots.

                              <object width="420" height="345"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KxobkzWpvQo?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KxobkzWpvQo?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="345" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Also please no free-throw line dunk in game please. He has dunked from that same distance in games but from the side of the free throw line, not like the 1988 dunk contest. It would be nice if he could sneak in the lane to to make a putback dunk of a missed free-throw as he did this a lot in his career.

Amazing stuff, aloncho! And as you and I already agreed in the past, it was actually a FT-line dunk, since he took of from the corner (which makes it further away than it seems).

And that MJ mix was awesome! I can watch these all day long!
