actually I copied your OP and put it on my iPhone last night before I tried the Create A Legend.

First I saw that there were only the default teams available for CAL. So I followed your steps:

1.Start new season mode with number of teams you plan to export

I started a new season with only one I had just unlocked: the 94 Rockets. I replaced the Sacramento Kings with the 94 Rockets.

2.Once in season export the team(s).(Important you must click the right stick on the headlines menu to what team you want to export)

I exported the team from the Season (saved the file and named it King Hakeem).

3.Leave season mode.

I went back to the main screen.

4.Load the exported team(s)

Under what option/feature can u load the team?

5.Trade the legends you want onto the CURENT TEAM you want them to be on.(ex. ORL Shaq to new Lakers for Bynum or any other player)

this is where I got lost. I couldn't find any way to trade players unless I was in a season.

6.Save Roster and Start up NBA:CAL or MY PLAYER

I'm sure the previous point is my stumbling block. I couldn't see any way to trade a player through the roster option. Since I hadn't played NBA 2K in 7 years I may be slightly behind the curve here.


Had no trouble in exporting the team from the regular season. But had trouble figuring out how to trade anyone in the default menu.*

Sooooooooo.. did you get Hakeem (I'm guessing you were trying to use him in CAL mode) in the mode lol?

having a major issue guys i have played the jazz vs spurs classic game won twice (lol played 1 min and then again a 5 min game) but its showing i didnt win the game therefore im not unlocking the teams (default settings pro 1st game rookie 2nd game) am i doing something wrong (oh and its 2k cam when i play)

Ok, let me know if I have this right.
I want to replace current teams with their legend teams. Then I want to take the good players from the current teams and add them to the legend team that replaced them. This will create a superleague of teams.

To do this I have to unlock all the legend teams. Start a season with the legend team and the team I eventually want it to replace and then trade between the two teams. I then export the legend team.

I have to do this for everyteam and then I can start the Assocation Superleague I want?

Is this correct? Did I miss a step?

Yes 1st unlock all the teams.
Start a season and make the changes in season mode or in the main menu.
Export the team(s)
Load them and put them in your association.

If you do it this way the exported teams will have the correct uniforms but generic courts

Ok, I am better off trading legends to current teams then. So same steps, just trade to current teams and export. Correct?

Yes but there is a way to get the correct uniforms w/ correct arenas.

You can put the players you want into the free agent pool
Start an Association controlling all the teams and pick the players up from the FA pool

Sounds good. Why does the 2k team have to make things so complicated this year? They have to know alot of us want to use these teams and players in franchise. It was so easy last year.

Not trying to insult you or anything, nut are the directions not clear enough.. have you even tried the steps I said for getting legends into the FA Pool?

Yea, I'm glad their is a workaround but it is very time consuming and very stupid they would take out the options to assign,trade,and release legends

How am I not having problems when I go back and do the steps that I put...

Anyway instead of releasing them once you export the legend team(s) trade them to a current NBA team

No unfortunately. I'm still stuck with the trading players OUTSIDE of the season.

Hence your instructions still require some elaboration.

Did you load the exported team once you left the season mode and was back on the main menu?

I know you exported some teams already and I was wondering if you can tell me the overall for those teams that you exported?

I traded Clyde Drexler to the 94 Rockets for Otis Thorpe in a season then exported the new 94 Rockets team with Drexler on there. I looked at the overall rating and it was 92 but the defense was 98 and the offense was 99. A 92 overall would make them worse than the 94 Rockets who had a 93 overall. Yes I know that the 94 Rockets had a better record than the 95 Rockets but Clyde was a much better player than Thorpe, and the defense and offense overalls were much lower for the regular 94 Rockets than for the exported team yet the exported team was at 92.

Also I downloaded a full roster for the 83 76ers team online and that team had a 92 overall. The 85 76er team also had a 92 overall. I wonder if its because its essentially the same roster?

But can you look at the teams you exported to make sure they do not have a 92 overall. I hope the exported teams are not set to having a 92 overall only.
