Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Played my first game last night. 14 mins, 3pts/0rebs/2asst/0stl/0TOs. I should've spent some time practicing first, I was way outta sync. Knew nothing about the plays or how the Sixers work. Definitely a different feel from 2k11.

Anyone else get a Jordan letter after the first game? Is that pretty standard or do I have a reason to get excited already?

Bucks are now 3-2. Requested a trade to Boston because I want to play for the Celtics. We will see if it happens though. Had my first 20+ game against the Pacers.

Played my 4th key game against Detroit with the Pacers. I'm very upset from the trades made recently. Haven't checked the details of it yet but I noticed that we gave up Roy Hibbert, George Hill, & Danny Granger and recieved Al Horford, JaVale McGee, Rashard Lewis, & Jordan Hill. Game was down to the wire at 109 tied. We could've won the game but Dahntay Jones insisted to pass to Darren Collison only to botch the lay up when I was wide open for the easy two. We had to foul and sent Ben Wallace to the line as he only made one. Dahntay inbounded the ball to me at the perimeter as I attempted a 3 to send the game into overtime only to miss. We got swept by detroit & i wanted to fight.

I heard it wasn't a team up 2k12 aka crew mode on 2k12, is that true? I HOPE NOT!

Drafted by the 76ers. We not only can't win a game, we get blown out every game. I'm talking 30 point losses to the Clippers blown out.

CPU never misses. My player is barely involved in the offense. I feel like the awful kid on the playground that just gets to run up and down the court. And when a play does get called for me, I can't run around the court without getting suctioned into other players. Running a play where my player is supposed to cut through the paint for a curl? How about I stop 14 times on my trip to try to post up Blake Griffin for literally no reason.

Not only is it frustrating, I'm not finding it nearly as much fun as last year's.

I feel your pain. Fight back from 59 down against Minnesota only to have the CPU obliterate me. I'm so asking for a trade to a team like...well...Phoenix. They seem to be good this year.

EDIT: Okay, anyone explain how I get two blocks on a single shot? I'll point the finger at physics for that one. I got my two blocks on a single Kevin Love shot. That's crazy...

Have anyone found out to move around defenders when they box you out?

I swear i can get more rebounds if i knew how

Welp, if you could get around them then they wouldn't really be boxing you out now would they?

P.S. I play on Pro, and I turned play calling off altogether. Personally, I much prefer just freeballing and was pretty disappointed in 2K11 where, if you weren't a PG, you'd HAVE to conform to the plays the CPU was calling. Very happy I can be a SF now. If anyone's struggling to win games, try not letting the CPU call plays and just do your best to get open and set random screens (at least on Pro difficulty) -- that seems to work wonders for me and my Jazz.

Increasing the respective rebounding skill will decrease the chances of getting boxed out like that. It happens to me all the time on the offensive boards because my off. rebounding is only a 50. Rarely happens on the def. boards, 83 rating there.

6'5 scoring PG for indy
just requested a trade to the Hawks, and got it done!

basically i was swapped for another scrub, but D Granger was also traded for Al Horford.
not a bad trade for me i guess
we got 3 swingmen types in D. Granger, J Johnson, & J. Crawford.
but suck at C position.

at least i finally got to start.

10 ppg 3 apg 1 spg 2 tpg so far playing at 5-7 min Qs

Thanks for the tip. I'll try this tonight. Hopefully it'll save what is otherwise a tremendous mode.

I played my first 18 games as golden states shooting guard. I finally overtake Ellis qnd my first start is on the road at ok city. Durant goes for 44. We battled back from 10 down twice. curry hit a late 3 to send it to overtime. And we lose as harden makes a 3/4 court shot.

now, my team looks like this.

Sf-George
Pf-pops mensu-bonsu
C-gortat

Ellis, lee, udoh, amondsun all traded.

I asked for a trade to Chicago

That was basically how I played my PG in 2K11 and managed to get from 45 OVR to 90 by the end of the season and led the Warriors to a ring over the Heat. I never manually called a play, so it's very do-able.

So i finally cracked starting line up with my athletic sf. Thougt i would replace fields at sg. Nope instead im starting sf with melo at sixth man with 23 mins per game smfh. Now i gotta gO andntrade myself cause im not gonna have melo benched so i can play
