Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I did another showcase and ended up going #7 to the Kings (also interviewed with the Bucks and Pistons). I'm really happy because I fill a position of need (6'9" SF) and get to grow with Cousins and Evans. I think this is the save I'll play going forward. Also, the highest I've been drafted.
For those who are wondering, playcalling is NOT broken and works great. It's not realistic for a rookie in the low 60's to drop 40-10-5 regularly and dominate the game. Something like 15-4-2 is a good game for me off the bench at a 62 rating. Most plays go through Evans or into the post. People want sim but complain when they have to set a screen for a star and don't get to take every shot. SMH.
However, those who want to dominate, and have every play ran through them, I'm sure turning playcalling off works wonders. For those who like playcalling, but still like to pick and choose their spots, LB/L1 once again works to call a "quick screen" which cancels the play, and you can then call for the ball. Personally though, I like playing to my skill level for once. In 2k11 I averaged a triple double for the season. It's much better this year, and I'm not looking for workarounds to dominate.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Aye man think about it if the team is terrible this year, you get a good draft pick and you guys can get better together. When I get the game I hope to go to the Rockets and if we do horrible my first 1-3 seasons I'm great with that because we'll get good picks and I'll turn into a beast! Dont ask for a trade just yet keep gutting it out brother!Comment

I like Playcalling. With K-Mart, I know he will get most of the touches. But, I know once I get better, I will get more touches. Alot of there plays have me as options, so once I get my Teammate grade up, they will pass to me.
I like it this way. Last year, I was already avging a double-double. This year, because of low vertical, Im notComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Not sure if anyone has really paid attention or if it has already been said but in the my player draft all the created rookies that get drafted are the same weight and height as the actual rookies. So I'm assuming whenever the lockout is over and they put the rookies in the game, they will be the ones drafted and playing in the rookie showcase'Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" - Kevin Durant.......................... Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Kevin Durant
6'9" 230 lbs.
All-Round SF/SG
Play 1: Mid-Range
Play 2: Isolation
Play 3: P&R Ball Handler
Play 4: 3PT
LeBron James
6'8" 250 lbs.
All-Around SF/PF
Play 1: P&R Ball Handler
Play 2: Isolation
Play 3: Post Up Low
Play 4: Mid Range
So either way, you're going to want to make your guy all-around if you are modeling him after either guy. I'm of the Durant mold being tall (6'9") and skinny (227 lbs.). I got my dunking up to 50 so I can jam and am now working on my mid-range so I can create mismatches and shoot over shorter defenders like KD. My plays are similar to LeBron though. I have the same four, just 3 and 4 are switched.Comment

I play as a SG, and when the play calls for me to cut across the paint or along the baseline, any defender I run near I automatically try to post them up. It takes 2 or 3 seconds to disengage, and then I get sucked back into them.
By the time I get across the court, the play is broken, shot clock is dwindling and the possession is ruined.
As far as "not wanting a sim" "wanting to score 40 points as a rookie" "wanting to take every shot" that's couldn't be further from the truth.
With playcalling on, I got maybe 4 looks per game. With it off (my one game last night) I took 9 shots. I scored 13 points - again, career high. I'm more than happy with that.Comment

Does the AI run more than 3 plays this year? Does it recognize when we are having a good game to give us more plays?
Because if it doesn't, then it's one more year of broken mess.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
man the other team don't miss, don't matter who the player is and everyone is lights out for three. If anyone on the other team is a little open, it almost automatic points. And let me get started with ray allen for some reason he is jordan, miller, bird all in oneComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I just had a pretty awesome game against the Lakers
12 pts (6-18), 8 reb, 6 ast, 2 stl, 2 blk, 2 to, A- grade.
I was jacking up good shots, they just weren't falling. Luckily I was able to contribute in other ways. We shut down Kobe (made 12 of 32... such a chucker) and won 99-101. We're 2-2 on the season.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I have a question since a lot of people are having various complaints about the gameplay in my player. If I start a My Player now and a gameplay patch comes out in November like usual, will the gameplay differences affect a My Player that is already started? or would I have to start a new one?Comment
