How can I be leading the league at effiency (30.1) and yet still have like a 20th rated PER (23.1)?

Also, how can I cut down on my minutes? With one of the best teams in basketball, with three All-Stars (me, Carmelo, Amar'e), playing in the 4th quarter with 20+ point leads is sort of boring. I'd love for our bench guys, especially at guard, to get some more playing time...they're playing behind my PG who's All-NBA First Team last season and averaging 22/6/13 averaging 40 MPG...What can I do beside committing fouls that don't result in FT.

So we have a lot of confidence going to the playoffs, anticipating a matchup in the Eastern Conference Finals.

I do worry that adding Noah to the 76ers addressed their biggest weakness and turned them into an even stronger contender. Since the trade, Noah and the 76ers lead the league in individual and team rebounding. We have not faced them since the trade, but since they're sitting comfortably in the #4 seed, we will probably not have to face them in the playoffs unless they upset the Heat.
Well, my concern about the powerhouse 76ers was unfounded, as they were swept out in the first round of the playoffs.

My Bulls just landed a spot in the NBA Finals -- the first appearance for second-year center Nate Jackson. We knocked out the #1 seed Heat in 5 games. (I'm only playing key games, but I might change that for the Finals). In the series-clinching victory, Jackson carried the load with 29 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl, and 2 blk. I unlocked the milestones for both 2 steals and 3 steals in a game. The team's defense is a strong point, and we shut down Lebron, holding him 6 points on 2-9 shooting. Lebron drove the lane looking to make it a 4-point game in the final minute, but Jackson rejected him hard and rookie SG Kyle Jackson got a breakaway dunk to put the nail in their coffin.

On to meet Golden State, who swept the defending-champion Thunder & MVP Russell Westbrook in the Western Conference Finals...

THEY HAVE STOPPED AT GAME 50!!!

The Boos are consistent with asking for a Trade, but generally a Trade is executed in 11 games, however, my very 1st myPlayer it took 3 weeks (of booing) for my request to be granted (whoever they traded me for was hurt at the time I asked).

That being said, here is an weird theory.

          1. When it started Myplayer was asked @ a press conference did he know that the team was trying to Trade him....I didn't know anything ...so I answered the question that way then I noticed on the Rumor Mill, that my Free Agent status was discussed.

Well the Press never asked me ANOTHER question about my Free Agent status, so NO TRIGGER was in place to STOP THE BOOING, w Trades there is an END RESULT!

          2. Meanwhile, I kept answering the questions in my boring Team oriented way to boost my TMC, LFSup and LWPop, it got to 100,97,100 at one point during the BOOING.

After my last post, I mentioned my "TMC: 100 ; LWPop: 80 (-20); LocFanSup: 77 (-20)" dropped by 20 points, the same action that occurs when asking for a TRADE. Now I did NOTHING to warrant this drastic drop.

That being said, once the Booing started, If, I would of answered a few questions like an ARROGANT FOOL, I may have been able to avoid this crap by lowering my Buzz as if I had actually asked for a Trade!

I checked just before this post on the OS Bug/Glitch thread, FB and nba2k.com, no one has responded to my question or the video of the booing.

p.s. - If you are in your last contract season at the same time you are about to reach "Star" status check the Rumor Mill before every game so you CAN LOOK for an answer that will thwart the booing.

I do not remember if one of the Answers was hypothetically, "No, but I don't have any intentions of not re-signing with the team" OR; "After the season I have every intention of seeing what my services are worth on the open market!"

It's risky, but, try cutting down some of your Stamina. I think I did that when I trimmed some "Skill Points Fat" to gain some abilities and I think my playing time has been cut a bit. I think I am playing 41 instead of 46 minutes.

I hear ya; its a bit too easy for me also at this point. We are putting the beat down on everybody. We just smashed the Bucks by 30! 106-76...

I will probably move on after this season...thinking about going to the Trailblazers they just traded Raymond Felton and have no PG.

But, I want to finish my Abilities before getting the itch and of course I want a repeat title and hopefully this time I won't Glitch and actually see the White House scene.

I do have a PG/Scoring for the Jazz in storage, maybe start over with my new found knowledge of skill point distribution?

The Heat are next. I have about 10000 SP, but need another 7 to get my post fadeaway to good. I want this because PGs D me up all the time, Chalmers especially, which makes it harder for George and Arenas. If I have a go-to post move, I can demand a sizable defender, then work on quickness to get around them.

Problem is getting 7000 points before we get rocked. I'm tempted to put the 10K into attributes right now- maybe bump up on ball D (at 82), quickness, vertical, and/or dunk (still can't dunk). Also considering upgrading the shoot off dribble.

            Decisions....
The playoffs are so intense, you will do anything to help your team. I chose to spend my points on the 3 pt and Dunk in the Finals. And at this point I will not put my 2 cents in it, Do what you think is best short term or long term...with no regrets!

Got my first shoe deal, pretty sweet. Anyone know how many shoes you can get to create? About 5 key games left before the post season, need to win out to secure our seed. After the season if I can I will be testing the FA the Pistons are god awful I have to put up massive numbers in order to win.

Couple things that really irritate me about My Player mode is

                  1) I can hardly run plays because im always sucked into the defender...really hard to get to my spot..how can I stop this from happening? Offensive aware?

                  2) On defense I can litterally have 3 guys with an arrow that im supposed to guard at the same time ..the ball is passed around the open guy hits the basket and I get deducted a lot for my man scoring when I was on the guy closest to me with the arrow...im sure theres nothing I can do about that but hope its made better in the future

It's 50/50 in here. I like Pro/Sim because I like the "difficulty" that my team endures. And honestly, IMHO, nobody cares, we are more interested in sharing ideas and helping each other get better at this addictive SIM (the 300 + page thread proves that) !

You are doing very well, your long stat line shows that you are trying to succeed in all areas!

However, Yes, you are going to have to change up your "Tendencies" (player card) to go to the next level in your game play.

You are Hopping & Popping off picks and burying open jump shots aren't you?

The 40% FG was the giveaway, you can do alot better and you will.

The first hurdle is stop playing ONE Dimensional. I found this out the hard way with my first player. It is very hard to tell at first when your shots are contested other then the falling down animation after a shot.

                    1. Learn to use Pump fakes, Fake Pass, Fake Pass & Pump before shooting.
                    2. Don't always shoot off picks, pass occasionally, set a pick and roll for a drive or a better shot
                    3. Take a quick dribble left or right and shoot
                    4. Take a quick dribble left or right, pump fake and shoot, etc

The easiest way to confirm that you have become one-dimensional other than reviewing your player card tendencies is to watch what happens once you get the ball on offense. If the defenders are running to get into your face, then the AI/CPU defender knows you are not going to drive to the basket or pass!!! Your defender should always give you a cushion (give you some respect)!

Go into the Play Now - Shootaround and practice pump faking/fake passing and shooting to get this down and it will do wonders. Remember Bad Shot Selection will stop a hot streak or induce a shooting slump!

Penetration in this game is NOT EASY.

                    1. I recommend you have the Plays On
                    2. You want to increase your Off Awareness skill to the 90s over time (this makes your player smarter on the court on the offensive side.
                    3. Slow down your movement on the court; STOP trying to TURBO while handling the ball. The AI compensates when you Turbo! Turbo should only be used for a QUICK BURST or SLAMMING!
                    4. Then pay attention to the court and player movement, OBVIOUS, BUT not so easy to grasp or do while playing with a defender in your face. I have found there are at least 7 opportunities to drive to the basket w/o dribble moves if you just pay attention to the action in front of you.

                    4. Here are 3 very crude videos I made to help a friend and my cousin. Read the description FIRST, then view the video. I am about to consolidate these very soon and enhance them with SLO-MO and voice so they are more helpful.

But I think watching them will give you some insight on what I mean about "paying attention" to what is in front of you on the court.

You don't need to subscribe or comment, and there are no commercials in the vids since I have no intentions of becoming a YouTube video king, LOL

                    4. Upgrade your Low Post Shot and start posting your matchup in the low post -- this is a superb weapon if properly used by a Guard

                    5. Use the Euro Step to weave thru traffic occasionally and add some Strength to your PG so he can push thru defenders while driving and take hits at the basket (Skills: Layup, Strength, Shoot in Traffic, Ball Security)

                    6. Scoring: Taking good shots equals a higher FG% = more points. Get easy buckets means high FG% (layups). Driving equals getting Free Throws or layups(easy buckets), good post ups mean easy buckets close to the basket. Crash the boards get some rebounds and easy putbacks! ,,,,,, etc...In a nutshell, you can't consistently score big numbers relying solely on your jump shot!

DON'T WORRY IT WILL ALL FALL TOGETHER FOR YOU SHORTLY!!!

                    Yes, AWARENESS for Both!

Bumping: Strength helps you push off the bumps and Awareness (makes you smarter on the court) keeps you from getting sucked in! On the PS3 if you hit the L2 it will release you, DO NOT TURBO, also on the PS3 the "Triangle" will disengage the suck to Post Up! I hate to tell you this but in the Practice Mode, the Larry Bird tutorial (Off Ball Offensive Moves) is the teaching tool of how to deal with this crap!

I can deal with it now, but, next year they have to fix the "humping", there is no way a player can lock or push you from behind and you can't move. Oh, wait the "hip check" while driving is my personal favorite!

Defense: On-Ball Defense keeps you in Front of your matchup. Awareness leads you to the RIGHT assignment on rotation (switches) it also helps you "slide" thru picks! Hustle helps you recover when you screw up (Bad Steal Attempt). The more you have of both reduces the amount of "Ice Skating" your player will suffer!!!

Personally, this drives me crazy, so EVERY myplayer I have created since my first, I have always developed his defensive skills first. The leave assignment and your opponent scoring will drive your Grade to rock bottom in a matter of 40 seconds of gameplay if you have one of those "senior moments"!

But once you get your skills up and learn how to avoid picks, you can really gets some serious REVENGE and terrorize your opponent! AND TRUST ME YOU WILL GET THERE!!!

TIDBIT: No matter what you do, an A+ Teammate Grade GUARANTEES 1000 Skill Points!!! It is much easier to shut down your opponent then to drop 30 points!

Thanks. I play on Superstar and we typically beat non-playoff teams by 10+ points. The only teams that can hang with us are typically the Top 5 seed...there is a few teams who can beat us (Bulls, Heat, Hawks, Thunder, Nuggets, Lakers, Pacers) and almost none who will beat us in a playoff series (Heat, Thubder, Bulls)

How do you guys draw more fouls? I'm only attempting 4 per game.

How do you guys draw more fouls? I'm only attempting 4 per game.
I just take it to the rack strong, I posted some pics way back in this thread I think I average between 20 and 30 every key game I play.

So something happened to my My Player as I hit the 20 game mark.

I went to save after a game like I always do, and up pops the menu 'Are you sure you want to blah blah blah'. I can't remember whether or not I pressed the button on yes, either way the save process had not yet begun, but my xbox froze.

I'm thinking no big deal, I'll just load it back up. Well, get the xbox fired up again and hit the main menu, and My Player is still in his feature spot in the lower right hand corner, same ole, same ole. Click on it to load it, and it says that the file is no longer available.

I went and checked on my hard drive and on the in game save list, and it is literally nowhere to be found. In my past experiences, if a save is corrupted, it will show up as a corrupted file. Here's the thing though, it no longer exists, period.

Anyone know anything or any tricks to try? Or am I just ****ed?

You sound ****ed, you dont keep multiple save files like everyone is always suggesting in this thread?

If so just load it manually, dont use the quick play box in the bottom right.

so this game is so realistic...

made the playoffs with the knicks as 5th seed. played all 4 games as we swept orlando in the first round and got miami in the second. i decided to only play key game and we are down 3-1 so if we lose its over. start of good, both teams, its even. then with about 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter they lead by 11, 32-21. i get my 4th foul and is taken out the rest of the half. well this is what suddenly happens. we're down 72-38. so they scored 40 points the last 7-8 minutes of the quarter. seriously 2k? seriously?? 40 points in half a quarter, a bit more.. its not a freaking all star game, its the second round in the playoffs!!! i just turned it off, got so ****ing angry!!!!

another thing, i just noticed i have no more paydays.. whats the deal there? dont we get paid in the playoffs?
