I play on Pro, and have since 2k12 came out. I played All-Star in 2k11, but this year AS is broken so I play Pro and I have no problem with it.

I think Pro is perfect for my player. Obviously in like association or quick play when you control the entire team, Pro is way too easy so you use Superstar or HoF. But in My Player it is perfect.

I have tried all the difficulties on My Player. On each difficulty I was able to easily put up 40+ points and 10+ assists. The difficulties played no difference in my personal performance and my ability to score.

The only difference the change in difficulty made was the higher ones made my teammates brick almost every shot, and take contested shots. And it made the other teams CPU drain 65-70% of their shots no matter how good of D I played.

On pro both my team and the cpu make anywhere from 40-55% of shots, which is pretty realistic. While on HoF your team will usually shoot 30-40% and the cpu will shoot 60-70%, both of those are unrealistic to occur every game. Sure some nights a team will have a horrible shooting night and shoot 35% or they might have a great night and shoot 65%, but its not something that happens everygame like on HoF.

My PG is on the Magic now and played on the Knicks last season. And on those teams we almost always beat the teams we were supposed to like the Cavs, Bobcats, Bucks, Wizards, etc. and lost to teams like the Heat, Bulls, Celtics, Thunder, Lakers, etc.

Don't get me wrong, we lost games here and there to bad teams we should have beat, we lost twice the the Nets last year that i can remember. And we did beat the Bulls, Heat, and other good teams a few times. But for the most part it was pretty good about who we beat and who we lost to.

Of course this is all just my personal opinion. If you wanna play HoF and carry your team on your back and have to cheese the whole game just to win, then be my guest. It's just in my personal experience with the game, you get a more realistic team basketball experience on lower difficulties in My Player. But based off of some peoples posts on here, they have no desire to play realistic basketball and would rather cheese and score all of their teams points(I'm talking to anyone who averages more than 35 ppg on a season).

I definitely plan on continuing my PFs career. I remember that I was boosting Off and Def Awr so I can boost OVR. But, I boost Hustle from 75 to 86. I will max that out. Then continue with Off/Def Awr maxed.
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of playstyle did you go with on your PF, and what team are you on? I'm interested in making a PF myself. That's my favorite position in the NBA. :b

From what I've seen, no they do not. I got drafted to PHX, played there for 3 years, and while I was there, maybe in my 2nd year they slowly started trading away anyone with a big contract, so by the time the offseason came, we had $22million in cap space, and they didn't use any of it, not a cent, team stayed the same. I mean, granted by the time I left, they signed Brandon Jennings and Ty Lawson, but they play my position and I was leaving them anyway, but yea, that's my experience.

That is the reason I don't play on those higher level's it isn't realistic as far as team play. I can deal with All-Star Sim only because I don't have to go crazy every game as far as high number of shots due to my team not producing.

i key gamed for a WHILE on my shooting guard. currently in my 5th year I believe.

what i did notice, the lottery picks are realistic and develop into great players, one on my team is currently 89 OVR.

also, bad teams will eventually make moves, but not all of them do and it'll take a while. a lot of random stuff will happen, though

for example, in my myplayer, chris paul and james harden are now on the cavaliers through free agency, after 3 seasons lebron signed with the celtics, i went back into a save for 1 game to see if he'd do it again, and he did.

amar'e stoudemire signed with the magic, bogut to the bobcats etc etc, eventually it gets crazy but no blockbuster trades have really happened for me, but if you plan on playing long-term with a struggling team, top 5 draft picks will eventually be 90+ ovr usually, or at least 85ish, and your team will most likely end up signing a key free agent eventually bro

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Just had the best game of my PFs career against SPurs in a win. I passed only record of 54 pts. I had 56 pts, 8 rebs, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. I wasnt even trying to pass my previous record. But that record was the teams franchise record. It was a dynamic goal and it got me 1000 pts alone. I had 7332 pts from that key game along with 1st 3 steal game.
I maxed Hustle. I was going to continue boosting Off/Def Awr, but at 85 FT I was missing key FTs. I will get that to 90, then continue with Awr

For some reason, I am not getting all my XP. It said that I get 7332 XP from that game and I got 1st 3 steal game. I should have gotten about 8000XP, but I only ended up with 7000.

i try to facilitate with plays off, because they always end up breaking and the CPU passes too slow, im a 6'10" athletic SF on the wizards and when the ball is passed to me i do dribble moves towards the paint and pass it to a cutting teammate or an open shooter, i play on superstar and doing this i can win most games, you just have to play good defense. help your teammates contest shots with the shotclock running down etc, box out for your rebounders. ive beaten the heat already early into my 1st season, which isnt THAT hard but with the wizards its a nice accomplishment. depending on what team your on sometimes your stars can do work themselves from time to time but they'll mostly just take bad shots, you have to set them up

The higher difficulties demand good/excellent Defense and tight ball security (don't commit turnovers). You can win if you make a difference in the number of EXTRA possessions the opposing team gets.

Simply you need to grab as many rebounds and steal the ball from the opposing team as much as possible. Also when you can't steal the ball make sure your matchup doesn't score and "disrupt the plays" of the opposing team. I have won games on Superstar/sim scoring in the high teens.

I always play with the Plays On; for me it's just part of the process and difficulty...however, I do use the "Call for Pick" command and "Call for the Ball" much more often when I am not the PG.

The difference in height for a PG is his ability to shoot over his defender and keep from getting his shot blocked and or contested. Shoot in Traffic, Vertical and Strength (driving) are important for getting your shot off!

Practice the "Runner" this is a better weapon than trying to drive all the way to the basket. Make sure you use your "Dribble Move" to give yourself some space for shooting jumpers!

You will need the 3 pt Shot at this height so prepare your plan (adding skill points) around this expensive skill set!

p.s. - He will have to be fast; Speed (95) & Quickness (95), so if you have to -- compensate by getting help on Defense by adjusting your Controller settings on Defense!. Once you get his speed & quickness skills up you can go back and re-adjust the Controller help on defense setting back to Zero. This is the only slider in MyPlayer!!!

                                PG/ATH/ROOKIE/KINGS/64 OVR

Well, in my last game against the Mavs (my second game as a King) there was yet another heartbreaking loss. The final score was 92-72, and I did as much as I could that entire game to keep us relevant, but that didn't matter. Hahah.

                                My statline:

                                M. Rieb - 38 Minutes (First off.. I didn't even realize I played that much. I'm the 6th man, yet I got the most minutes on the team.) 28 pts. 2 Reb. 5 Ast. 2 Stl. 0 Blk. 5 TO. (I need to raise my ball security & ohd) 14-26 FG. 0-1 3pt. (Shot clock.)

This game leads me to have a few questions, so I got the most playing time on the team, yet almost every minute of mine was at the 2, pushing Tyreke Evans down to the 3. Because he was pushed down to the 3, he was overpowered. He had 34 minutes, and shot 1-11.

So my question is; although I am an Athletic PG, I get all minutes except for maybe 4 as a SG. Which I don't mind, I love playing SG. Is it possible that when I become a starter, they'll place me as a SG? Or is it only possible for me to start at the position I created my MP as?
