Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
PG/ATH/ROOKIE/KINGS/65 OVR
Well, we very desperately needed a win. We went up against the 8-0 Spurs, playing in San Antonio. Since the very first bucket we held the lead until the 2nd half, where there were 6 lead changes. The score was 93-85 when I was taken out of the game. The final score: 100-85. So being the 6th place team in the West, it was definitely nice to knock a loss into the undefeated, first place team.
Here are my stats:
M. Rieb - 28 Min. 26 Pts. 1 Reb. 2 Ast. 1 St. 0 Blk. 2 TO. 13-25 FG.
Tyreke Evans is still struggling at playing SF, so I wish I could have more minutes as the 1 so that he can be bumped back up to the 2. It's tough having Evans as the 3, and Gerald Wallace as the 4. My assist totals suck right now, due to the fact that I play all my minutes at the 2, and as soon as I'm passed the ball I've got an open look to shoot.NBA - CHICAGO BULLS

Dribble Moves: Here is a video I found that may help you on the PS3
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/61xl42f8ch4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Go into Play Now --- Shootaround and Practice
Runner/Floater - (high arching shot primarily used to shoot over taller defenders) (Steve Nash/Suns performs this move quite often at the Pro/Sim level...all guards perform this move at the advanced Difficulty levels)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/wumike/3682970775/" title="Steve Nash's running jump shot by MikeWu, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3599/3682970775_44a64aee34.jpg" width="500" height="417" alt="Steve Nash's running jump shot"></a>
Run in between the 2 semi-circles of the lane and just push up on the shot stick and the player will perform the runner. Shot Close is the skill attribute that controls the "range" of this shot. Also there is an Ability (Runner) that will increase the effectiveness of this shot.
Attributes are direct skills that allow your player to perform basic moves
ie; Shoot in Traffic; Vertical, Shot 3-pt, Consistency, Speed, Quickness
Abilities are advanced skill sets that allow your player to play more efficiently/effectively.
ie; Fadeaway, Crossover, Layup/Hopstep dunk
W/O sounding judgmental; the game is difficult at Pro/Sim for beginners, at the higher levels you must be reasonably good at executing advanced controller moves (Dribble moves) to achieve success on a consistent basis.
Player Build: The other difficult part is creating a plan to distribute your skill points earned while playing. I am sure by now you have seen the tons of info posted in this "super" thread on how we "build" our fictional superstars. It's not as easy as it looks, alot of trial and error by forum members have gone into this process regardless of the position (PG/SG/SF, PF & CEN). Not all player skill sets are exactly alike and we all play different once we fire up our consoles.
So you may want to think about trying to master the game at a lower Difficulty level first.
Nevertheless, we are a very helpful bunch here so don't be afraid to ask ANY question.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Since I've been playing so many minutes at the 2, I realized that I really enjoy it. And rather than having to play the 1 when I begin to start, and have to worry about assists rather than points, I decided I'd just go ahead and make a new MP.
SG/SCORING
Rookie showcase, I had a phenomenal game.
M. Rieb - 25 Pts. 8 Reb. 1 Ast. 3 St. 2 Blks. 2 TO. 10-18 FG. 1-2 3PT.
Three interviews:
1. Milwaukee Bucks (I really don't want to play here. They've got a good Guard set-up right now, and I'm not all about taking the spot from someone who's great at their position.)
2. Detroit Pistons (I've never actually played for Detroit. It's worth a shot.)
3. Utah Jazz (Another team I'd love to play for. They don't have a very established SG, so it's definitely worth a shot as well.)
Drafted by:
Detroit. Let's hope for the best! :b
Edit: Completely forgot about both Stuckey and Gordon. I may end up requesting a trade, seeing as I can't play much 1 or 3, pretty much strictly 2.Last edited by TheBadMammaJamma; 03-25-2012, 06:15 PM.NBA - CHICAGO BULLS

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Im also considering putting the Cavs as a preferred destination. Could make a nice 1-2 punch with me and Kyrie and I would get more touches than I would in OKC.It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Since I am closing in on All-Star break in my PF's 3rd yr, I am thinking on what teams I am interested/hoping in going to. I dont want to go to a team with another good reb. Playing with Marion is good and he provides versatility. But, I hate seeing him steal my rebs away from me. I want to go to a defensive team. That is really it, besides a team not having alot of rivals. I dont know which team that is. It could be with Cavs, Hawks), Nuggets
I am 25th in league in scoring(19ppg)Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I play on Pro, and have since 2k12 came out. I played All-Star in 2k11, but this year AS is broken so I play Pro and I have no problem with it.
I think Pro is perfect for my player. Obviously in like association or quick play when you control the entire team, Pro is way too easy so you use Superstar or HoF. But in My Player it is perfect.
I have tried all the difficulties on My Player. On each difficulty I was able to easily put up 40+ points and 10+ assists. The difficulties played no difference in my personal performance and my ability to score.
The only difference the change in difficulty made was the higher ones made my teammates brick almost every shot, and take contested shots. And it made the other teams CPU drain 65-70% of their shots no matter how good of D I played.
On pro both my team and the cpu make anywhere from 40-55% of shots, which is pretty realistic. While on HoF your team will usually shoot 30-40% and the cpu will shoot 60-70%, both of those are unrealistic to occur every game. Sure some nights a team will have a horrible shooting night and shoot 35% or they might have a great night and shoot 65%, but its not something that happens everygame like on HoF.
My PG is on the Magic now and played on the Knicks last season. And on those teams we almost always beat the teams we were supposed to like the Cavs, Bobcats, Bucks, Wizards, etc. and lost to teams like the Heat, Bulls, Celtics, Thunder, Lakers, etc.
Don't get me wrong, we lost games here and there to bad teams we should have beat, we lost twice the the Nets last year that i can remember. And we did beat the Bulls, Heat, and other good teams a few times. But for the most part it was pretty good about who we beat and who we lost to.
Of course this is all just my personal opinion. If you wanna play HoF and carry your team on your back and have to cheese the whole game just to win, then be my guest. It's just in my personal experience with the game, you get a more realistic team basketball experience on lower difficulties in My Player. But based off of some peoples posts on here, they have no desire to play realistic basketball and would rather cheese and score all of their teams points(I'm talking to anyone who averages more than 35 ppg on a season).
may i ask what sliders you play default or sim? and can you edit sliders in nba 2k12 before u make a my player?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Created a 7 Foot Athletic skill set Center, 265lbs. My version of a dwight howard basically.
12pts, 10 boards, 3 TO's in the showcase. Shot abysmal in the 2nd half. Couldnt make a simple freaking layup at all to save my life. Ended up going 5/13. Ended up with an A grade.
Interviewed with the Rockets, Jazz (told them to buzz off) and the 76ers (never interviewed with them before). Told Philly that I would love to play for them.
Come draft time I am projected to go 14th to the Rockets. And I get taken by Philly at 16th.
I NEED to build my shot up on the inside, hell my post moves are my go to moves.Xbox Gamertag: mryaz88Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
That was my issue as well. It's extremely difficult if you're a big man to get the ball passed to you, unless you've got a very favorable size match-up or you're open in the key. That's why I usually have to stick with playing a 1, 2, or 3. That way all you have to do is step outside the 3pt line, and the ball is like automatically passed to you, so you're free to do what you want with it. :bNBA - CHICAGO BULLS
