Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Choose athletic, slashing or scorer. Athletic starts with 75 dunk (put lebron shoe on, +5 dunk so u get 80 dunk meaning u can get special dunks but poor abilities) OR slashing/scorer (they start with average abilities except post abilities)
Athletic: easier to dunk
Slashing: easier to slash
Scorer: easier to score
For me I chose athletic for dunking
stats to raise first:
1. max medium (easy mid range shots, easy points), use shoes if you
have them
2. max layup (hit inside shots on breaks or drives)
3. max steal (steal the ball from other team)
4. max str (force field, great for offensive post or general defense)
5. max on ball defense (great for defense)
If you want to score inside, work on layup.
If you want to score from mid-range, work on medium.
If you want to be a defensive small guy, then work on steals, strength,
and on ball defense.Last edited by free24ride1; 04-02-2012, 05:35 AM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
EDIT: I found a video on Youtube and in the comments the uploader says the hold LT (for XBOX) without holding turbo and I guess pressing X, he didn't mention that part lol.
EDIT EDIT: On Yahoo Answers someone else said to hold RT and let go and right as you let go move RS in a circular motion. I'm honestly confused right now so I'm going to go to practice mode and if I figure it out I'll make sure to tell you. You do have his layup package unlocked right?Last edited by KSOR24; 04-02-2012, 10:11 AM.GT: assassinK24Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I played the most thrilling/wack game ever. We played the Mavs and during the 2nd quarter we were down 3 and I had 2 fouls and being on the other side of the paint got called for another and at the half we're down 13! I worked my butt off and eventually led us to a comeback where both teams would vigorously change leads. In the final seconds I panicked once again. Zach Randolph had a mismatch with Vince Carter on him but I took a step back fade away at the buzzer and missed it! Overtime was just as intense. The game was all tied up and on a 3 on 1 fastbreak I try alley-ooping it to Randolph whose hands rating must be at like a 20 because he couldn't secure it and they scored on the other end. Final possession for us, down 2. I did what I found success doing the whole game - I sent Gay on a cut who got an easy layup with about 7 seconds left. They don't pass it to Dirk and I'm guarding Jason Kidd. He dribbles out the whole clock and at the last second he took a leaner and I was called for a FOUL!!! He made both free throws leaving 0.4 seconds so I was thinking: alright we need an alley-oop. Nope. Without even calling for the ball they pass it to me near the three point line the instant the whistle blew without giving me a chance to try and send it into double overtime. Freaking Hall of Fame cheese. My stats were something like this:
23 points
25 assists
5 rebounds
7 turnovers
Grrr, this game pisses me off so much! D:<GT: assassinK24Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I hate how on Superstar/HoF, you have to be the best guy, or having close to the best game stats-wise and in terms of impact, (out of all 24 players in the game) to win against the better teams, even when I have a star-studded team in NYC (me, Melo, Amar’e…all All-Star Starters). Just like a recent game vs. Bulls, (who is surprisingly 4th in the East), I had triple-double #5 on the season against my “individual rival” in Rose:
32 points<O</O
11 assists<O</O
10 rebounds<O</O
5 steals<O</O
13/21 shooting (4/4 FT)
<O</O
And yet, we still only won by 9 points, being the number 1 seed in the East. I don’t mind, and having to put on these super-man Rondo+LeBron performances every game is boosting my MVP campaign, it’s the same for Carmelo and Amar’e, who have to put in near double-doubles, and sometimes ridiculous Kevin Love performances (like Amar’e’s 30-15 outbursts) combined with my near triple-double play every game (averaging 24/12/6 this season). Our bench is completely useless to say the least, and if we’re down in the 4Q, it’s going to become the Big 3 show, and it’s only up to us to carry the offensive load. <O></O
>
However, I find in Superstar/HoF, the most key thing, is limiting opposing possessions (blocks/steals/defensive pressure) , and gaining your own, and making good use of them (good quality shots/free throws) and that whoever wants to try HoF, and can’t really play “right” on offense, will lose more.
<O</O
Being better on defense, and applying pressure has been winning us games, when our stars don't perform some nights.Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Also, has anybody had any stand-out rookies in their MP? This year (12-13) rookie class has been pretty poor, with only two real "standouts": Jamon Rivera (Bobcats) and Drew Karl (76ers). Both are SF/PF and Karl is great when we play against the 76ers. He's averaging 16/6 on the season. Rivera also plays well when we play them...perhaps taking advantage of Carmelo's defense lol. He averages 14/7 per game, and both shoot over 48%.
Any great rookie seasons? I think Karl's for me is pretty decent, but any real standouts, maybe not like guys like Duncan, or my MP (Rookie Season: 23/10) but maybe like a season Wall or Irving had?Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
We overcame an 11 point deficit in a win over the Hawks. Everything was coming easy for me but they went on a little bit of a run taking a 5 point lead and when I got subbed out it extended to 11 with over 9 minutes in the 4th. I struggled a bit with the second unit but once the starters came in we wrecked. I had probably 10 alley-oops to Gay that game, one of them he did like a 360 and slammed it hard with one hand, should've saved the replay. I finished with 19 points and 24 assists. We have 4 games left in the season and I can't wait 'till next season, I don't know where we went wrong in winning only 20 somethin games but I guarantee a good playoff run next year. So far I'm a 79 overall with all the stats I want at least at a 90 though I'm currently upping my dunk. It's at a 68 and now costs 1000 SP just to upgrade by one point. My three point rating is at a 75.GT: assassinK24Comment
