Here's a little question for you guys -

when you create your My Players, do you create them after yourselves, or after a fictional character, or something else?

I usually create mine after myself, although it does get awfully annoying hearing them not being able to pronounce my last name. For that reason, I'm tempted to create one after a fictional character. Although, when I've tried that in the past I've never stuck with them for as long as I have the ones created after me. I'm not sure why.

I create a PG every year and I create him after myself. My PF is created based off me somewhat.

My SFs are based off me since thats the position I played. All other players are purely fictional.

On another note, I'm so sick of losing. Even when I bring it back down to pro. The only way we ever win (with ANY of my five players, regardless of team) is if I score 35+ points and hog the ball. I hate playing that way, its not fun at all. I'd rather score in the 20s and focus my other energy on rebounds and defense.

I think I might start over and foul out of the showcase instantly to try to get drafted by a better team or something.

What team are you on? I got drafted by washington and we were losing too much so i requested a trade to the clippers.
Our team was CP3, billups, butler, my 7'2 center, and Mcgee at C.
we dominated and even simming game we would win.
Just request a trade to a better team?

Too bad you're a SF. If you wanted it super easy, all you'd have to do is request a trade to the Heat. We went 71-11 in the regular season. Changing difficulties didn't seem to affect anything. However, here'a random tidbit of information - every single time we played the Bobcats we got blown out. It makes absolutely no sense.

I have two MPs on the Rockets, one on the Timberwolves, one on the Warriors, and one on the Sixers. The Wolves have the worst record in the NBA by a huge margin nearing the end of his rookie season. The Sixers MP is doing the best with a record around .400, and the other three are down around .300.

My Wolves player has a teammate chemistry around 95, but no player can get buzz above 50 for the other two. And two of the players are even heading towards Rookie of the Year awards.

I must just be a terrible team player or something, or too much of a one-trick pony when I play. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've never had such a hard time learning a sports game.

I think I'll create a new SF (the position I know best) and make sure he's on a top 5 team either by draft or trade.

You could try playing a C. When I started in 2k10 I tried PG but found it was way too hard getting A+ team mate grades. But with a big man you just pick and roll all day and you'll get A+ in no time. Also with a big you can camp at the basket and call for the ball to get easy dunks/layups or get fouled in the process. IMO C is the easiest position to play.

I might also suggest trying a player-lock association game. With this mode and a good roster/slider set, your teamates play more realistically, you can turn-off or turn-down the cheesy clutch factor and enjoy a game where you don't feel like throwing the controller at the screen.

You may loose the easy player development aspecs of MP, but a Player-lock association has done wonders for my anger management and the vastly improved gameplay has put the fun back in the game.

                      Thanks

I thought they HAD to pronounce your nickname. How do you get it so they pronounce your actual name? does it have to be a simple name?

I do mine as a fictional player. Partly because the last name not being pronounced and partly because I'm only 6`2 and would really only be able to be a point guard

If your name is in their database the announcers will pronounce, otherwise they will use your nickname.
