Does anybody have any tips on how to get more assists? I struggle at getting any, and you all seem to get them like they're nothing. I've been experimenting with various positions all week, and the PG (one which I've done before) is one of my favorites. I'm going to see how far I can take him in, but I average like.. 4 assists per game. I can play with Run Plays on or off, but it just doesn't matter. Plus, I don't know how to properly run the pick & roll, which probably would help me a lot. I play on the ps3. :b

Depend on your position and your teammate.
I have a SG rate 99 who average 9.1 apg with 3.4 topg. (My passing rating is maxed out at just 85)
I also play with Derrick Rose in create a legend and got 12.5 apg with 3.4 topg.
I use icon pass all the time. Manual pass is not quite accurate for me.
When I'm a SG, you can't call a play if u r not PG so that is ur huge disadvantage. Knowing ur teammates is the key. I have Lebron and Anthony Randolph as my main scorers. Spending the time with them enough to know their strength and weakness, u will know their tendency and notice what situation they gonna shoot if u feed them the ball and what situation they not.
For one thing, if u feed ur teammate the ball in the paint, they will usually shoot. Try driving to the lane or entering post play, as soon as CPU double team u, pass to the open man. Don't force shot clock by feeding ur teammate when shot clock is run out unless it is necessary.
On fast break, even being a SG, I always be the one to throw the ball to my temamate (if I didn't do a cherry pick myself). When my bigman gets rebounds, I will call the ball from my teammate and throw it to my another open teammate for fast break. (My PG is not a star so usually Lebron or me will run the offence. If u build ur team chem enough, ur teammate will give u the ball with not much complaint so i don't have much trouble asking for the ball to initiate the offence)
I barely run pick and roll for getting assists since the rollman seem not to position properly.
As a PG, it is a lot easier. Besides the tip above, I use quick play (puting > on your d-pad for quick play and usually put square or O to get my teammate open 3 or cutting to the basket)
The quick play option will look like this.
-Your PG iso.
-ur best shooter get open: Press square: For me it is Luol Deng or Korver, call for this play and just give them the ball at the right time. They may be able to shoot the open 3.
-Call for your SG or SF to cut to the basket. (Depending on who are on the court with you): Press O to call for this play. When your teammate cut to the basket, just give him the ball at the right moment. This is the most easiest assist for me. Ur teammate'a ability is huge factor. For example, when Brewer on the court, he will be the guy to cut to the basket. He is pretty athletic and has hi shot close and shot inside rating so it is easier. However, when CJ Watson is my SG, evern though he cut to the basket and I feed him the ball, he usually miss or getting block due to his height and low rating.
- Ur PF or C post up: Maybe nice way to score but not nice way to get assist. ur bigmen usally did too much before hitting the shot so u will not get assists.
- Run for best play: Not use this much.
I didn't call play manually so I can't tell you that. I also didn't turn the play on, I just use quick play or the tips above.
Here is my best game as PG:

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
30 games into my PG career, finally got frustrated with Utah and requested a trade, and viola ended up getting traded to the Celtics along with a 1st round pick in exchange for Rondo.
First game with the C's I dropped 47 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists to go along with 3 steals and 2 blocks. We beat the Magic 102-91.
I love playing for this team. Guys actually shoot 3's (Allen and Pierce are monsters) and we're fantastic.
Got ~4900 skill points and used them all to raise my dunk from 73 to 76.
Currently sititng at 68 overall.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Just lost a heartbreaker to the Spurs with my SG on the Warriors. I had 41 but we couldn't stop the 4th quarter run. Made it up though by dropping 55 on Kobe in the next game.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
After 10 games with my center, I'm really starting to have fun with the position. Becoming quite a force to be deal with.
The 76ers are 5-5 right now. Im averaging 13 pts, 5.8 boards a game. (trying to boost rebounding abilities.) I regularly go to the line probably 3-5 times a game as well. This is still coming off the bench.Xbox Gamertag: mryaz88Comment
