In generating a CAL player, you can award yourself any contract you want. A good salary should make up for the team and Jorden snubbing you on endorsements. How does $4 to 6 million a year sound for a new undrafted prospect with decent abilities and skill's? You can also just sign for 1 year and play the field after your rookie year.

I finally threw down a couple of dunks today, one against the Clippers and two against the Kings, and put up 20+ points in both games coming off the bench. Now if only Curry and the rest of the Warriors would hit their shots when I pass to them. Assist goals are tough.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
What do I have to put up so that I can make shots when I drive? I drive a lot but always miss easy shot like layups. Do I need to put up my shoot in traffic, close, inside what is it?
ThanksComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I tried an experiment with the CAL game mode. Started a new Center with a 1 year contract and, by just playing key games, simmed through the first year. At the end of the year, as in MP mode, he was offered nice long term contract options from a variety of teams. However, despite finishing mid way in the standings, the 76ers still got the number one draft pick. Unfortunately, it looks like the draft bug is in effect for CAL mode as well.

I do love having access to dunk and layup packages from the get-go though. That's really nice. Plus to keep it realistic, I still aim to create my guy to be around a 64 overall, it's just nice to adjust the beginning stats to how I'd like them to be. For instance: less 3pt, more shot medium, etc.NBA - CHICAGO BULLS

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
every time my PG goes coast-to-coast and finishes off with a big slam. It is just too much fun and I am sure the guy guarding me on the other team is shaking his head and saying "how the hell did he do that?"

I just played my best game as a Small Forward against the Toronto Raptors. I had 34 pts, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. After playing a month and a half, I have played every single position except the center position. I even played as a PG once against the Grizzlies. Well our next game is against the 13-9 Dallas Mavericks who are in 5th in the conference. While we are 13-8 and in 2nd in the western conference.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Hello everyone,
this is my first post. I am quite impressed with the size of this thread. I have managed to read through most of it, since I just two-three weeks ago started playing the game (which is my first basketball game ever).
As a non-american it took me some time to catch on and so I struggled a lot initially with the MP mode (still do at time of course; especially when the game seems overly scripted; like when I have uncontested shots in my hot zone and a shot rating of A+ and yet they do not fall...even if i made a dunk or layup earlier...of course the opponents will drain contested shots...ah well...).
I created an athletic PG (height 6'6; as I didn't know a taller height could have disadvantages skill point wise).
Initially I upped his shooting skills...
In my second season now (just got him to 90, and shoot from dribble to good). Was drafted by the Jazz and hated it there...no matter what I did, we lost...and I am no fan of loosing...requested a trade to (Heat, Lakers and Warriors (studied in SF, so there teams are always my favorites) and ended up with the Heat. Boy playing with them is fun most of the time...
although Bosh seems to get caught for easy mistakes (like sleeping in the paint a lot), Wade seems like a major ball hogger (keeps doing that thing where he looks like a kid jumping up and down moving the ball from one hand to the other) and Haslem is just NOT a center...boy we get destroyed at the boards...
aaanyways...if I had a say I would happily give up Wade and Haslem for someone who can get some rebounds...
So we played our first Conference Final against the Magic...I (play on Pro-Sim 5 minute quarters) had a pretty good game...started with four quick assists within the first few minutes; ended up with 35 points (was rested most of the 4th quarter due to our 20 point lead - which SURPRISE - we actually managed to sustain, 7 assists (for the rest of the game LeBron and Wade literally missed the easiest shots right under the hoop up and including Alley-Oops...it was a nightmare), 7 steals AND (and this put the biggest smile on my face) a BLOCK against none other than Howard!!!
(just wanted to share...)

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Been on a Madden spree so I really haven't played My Player in a while.. decided to just start over since the file I had didn't even have the Rookies on it ha ha ha.
Made a 6'10" Athletic PF who went to Boston College and got drafted by Philly after purposely tanking my pre draft interviews.. sorry Phoenix, Golden state and Houston! Will update as I go on and get those minutes!Comment

Rake Wormichovsky-SF-6'7"-280lbs-Slashing
I only played a couple games with my SF after I created him and he was drafted by the 76ers. I was excited about where I got drafted, because I really like the sixers. But then I remembered the draft glitch, and was worried it might feel cheap to stay with them. I will probably trade away after my rookie season.
I've had some issues getting used to not playing as a PG, with my SG or this guy. Not being able to call plays will take some getting used to. After my first few games, I'm averaging: 12 ppg, 5 rpg, and shooting 43% if I remember correctly. Still the sixth man, only getting about 21 mpg. They keep subbing me in as power forward because of my size, which is frustrating because I am slashing and have no paint defensive skills.
The Beasts first dunk:
Also: what ability upgrade effects a leaning jumpshot? The kind where it is essentially a fadeaway to the side? Is that technically a fadeaway, even though you aren't jumping backwards?"You honestly don't really feel it when the shots are going down. You don't ever get the goose bumps until the fans start to appreciate what you're doing."
