Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Wow... we get a starting line-up change:

    G- (me) Jackson [22.0 PPG]
    G- Douglas [13.6 PPG]
    F- Brown [4.3 PPG]
    F- Anthony [21.8 PPG]
    C- Stoudemire [19.4 PPG]

I don't know why Mike D'Antoni took Ilgauskas out of the starting lineup. We brought him back like 5 years in production, and he was averaging 10.0 PPG on a league-leading 70 FG%...We're playing a game vs. the T-Wolves now, and Ilgauskas hasn't played a minute yet. We're in the 3Q, and Brown has 4 points and 4 boards.

Our bench is still awful as he*l, and Bogans is our leading bench scorer...6 points.

I'm 4th in All-Star East guard voting, but will probably get in as the 6th man, like my rookie season. Averaging 22/7/12 this season. Carmelo is 2,000 votes ahead of LBJ, and Stoudemire is only 17,000 votes behind LBJ.

    (me) Jackson: 22.0 PPG/6.7 RPG/12.4 APG
    Carmelo: 21.8 PPG/8.5 RPG/1.8 APG
    Stoudemire: 19.0 PPG/10.9 RPG/1.8 APG

Best "Big 3" in the leauge. Put any 2 of us together, and it's the best duo in the league.

    ===

For my Center: I'm averaging 19.3 MPG/18.5 PPG/5.0 RPG...what is the best team for a [back to basket] center?

What difficulty is everyone playing on?

Pro or Superstar? I can't decide which one to play on...

I've tried out PG and SF a little bit...but thinking of making a big man. How are PFs in My Player?

              Advice?
              You already are!!!

              1. This position is awesome if you ignore the aggravating "bumping/locking" that is required for Low Post players.

              2. Continue to work on your Teammate Chemistry by answering the Questions in a team manner

              3. Yea, I know you are doing all this work, setting picks/trying/getting to your low post spot and they are hoisting 3s, don't get frustrated, very soon every 3rd play down the floor and when they really need a basket they will get you the ball!!!

Remember because of the "bumping" it gets more difficult to get to your spot as you become more dominant. (Don't forget to upgrade your Strength & OFF Awareness to reduce to bump/locking)

4...LEARN TO CALL FOR THE BALL...

              <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sGIGc0eN8r0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

As soon as I got close to the key I seen the open lane and CALLED FOR IT, sure he was slow with it but the lane was so wide open it didn't matter.

              - that nuisance PG keeps bumping you and you can't get across the lane to get to your spot...POST HIS BUTT UP AND CALL FOR THE BALL RIGHT IN THE LANE, and due a quick low post move on him for 2!

-after setting every GOOD pick, ROLL, and if you think you got an easy mid-range (60+) jumper, call for the ball and pop it or drive and slam!

-plays at the Top of the Key - don't always pass to the wing player (especially when the defender is close to the SG/PG)...slowly drive to the paint and dish to the PF in the paint and sit at the top of the key, when he gets stupid call for the ball and pop the mid-range/close jumper at the top of the key! (roll to the other side when he shoots for the off rebound)

-plays at the Top of the Key & Inbounds - Pay Attention to the defense - look for that open key/lane and drive and slam on them! Video:

Nowitzki turned his back on me with the baseline wide open...

-Smart passing and setting picks leads to better looks that support the plays and teammate chemistry ,,,.once you get the "feel" this gets to be AWESOME!!!

Matchup Centers are Horford-Hawks, Bynum-Lakers, Noah- Bulls, Mavs-Nowitzki, Lopez-Nets, Howard - Magic, Nene-Nuggets...others like Bogut-Bucks, Jefferson-Utah, Hibbert - Pacers and Tyson Chandler - Knicks are pretty good centers that you really don't want to replace...(need thing, plus u want more key match-up games for SP)...the Trailblazers have old Camby and hope he doesn't get hurt Odom...after that anywhere is good, IMHO!

I can't tell you how much I like playing for the Kings (very young team).

If you can get to the Warriors you will be sitting pretty for a playoff run w backcourt of Curry & Ellis next season!

If you want a trade DO IT EARLY!!!

P.S. - Your shooting (67%) every game will end soon, (those fingers rolls you have been dropping like cake), LOL, it will get harder to score in the low post (you will not get fouls) and you will have to learn to pump fake, spin, and drop the Fadeway, so make sure you pay attention to our mid-range jumper and of course foul shots.

This is a difficult question since the Difficulty is applied to the ENTIRE TEAM instead of just your myPlayer.

IMHO and the experiences posted by others and myself its really hard to give you PERFECT advice.

The higher difficulties are GREAT if you are looking for a challenge to your PERSONAL performance but the poor teammate play can be exhausting!

For example, while playing on All-Star, EVERY GAME, my rookie Center lost 25 consecutive games. While playing on Superstar, my rookie SG, we lost 5 consecutive games before pulling the plug. I really enjoyed the personal challenge, but, I can't take long losing streaks!!!

Personally, I like Pro/simulation, 12 min, because I do not emphasize scoring in my personal play and PLAY EVERY GAME. My experience on Pro has been that there are more close games where down the stretch MY performance greatly influences whether we win or lose a game.

On the higher modes I never got this experience as I was always trying to "bring my team back" ...baiting me to drop team play and look to score first.

That being said, all difficulty levels have the (bamagrad03-"Catch up mode" strikes again.) , so if you think you can just breeze to a win on the Pro/Sim level you are mistaken.

Now, more experienced (masters) myplayer mode players, like to play the higher Difficulty levels, but they only play KEY GAMES, and during the SIM of games their teams pick up a few wins...avoiding the long losing streak. (You only earn skill points for Milestones while SIMMING games)

Mind you these forum members are very good at accumulating Skill Points during short seasons. Also some of these players like to SLOW DOWN the progression of their players, stating it gives them a more "realistic" player progression.

Higher difficulties mean the more your teammates will fail to perform to expectations. Offensive plays collapse routinely and the rotating defense weakens subsantially which is very difficult to overcome at the start-midway thru your rookie season while your Teammate Chemistry is low.

Any Difficulty is Great, you just got to find one that supports your personal style of play and the type of team challenge you want from the SIM after dropping $60.00!

                  Hope this helps, Enjoy.

...The perks of earning "Star" status...

We win 11 straight and somewhere in the middle of complaining....

I actually thought with excellent skills this season I could relax a bit; but I soon realized A-Train's performance mirrors his playoff experience (rookie).

That got me to thinking...with the game intensity ramped, I used all available SP to fix deficiences immediately...what's not right about his performance now...

                    1. I have lock-down D perimeter defense, why are you getting beat on those stupid floaters in the paint?

                    2. Since I am a "Star" now; why is it still so difficult to score consistently?

Well, I have not been upgrading KEY attributes to my game! (Too busy saving for Abilities)

Once we achieved the "Lock-D" icon; I just ignored my On-Ball Defense (was 85 boosted to 90), Defense Awareness (was 80 to 85) and Hustle (was 83 to 85).

Since I rarely have to deal with the "bumping" as a PG we also ignored Off Awareness (was 90 boosted to 97). More intelligence should give me more easy looks...

A Big Change (AI/CPU): So busy complaining about the shooting slump, I have not noticed that A-Train is being PUSHED to score MORE. The team scoring hasn't changed, we and our opponents are just scoring more! No more 70s-80s, alot more 80s, 90s and over 100 pts scored in games.

Over his career his scoring average has progressed from 17pts, 24pts, and now its moving to the high 20s to low 30's with the same FG % despite slumps!

In a strange way this is good, BC, the "booing" has really been a nuisance and if it continues into the playoffs, we will move as his contract will be up (Free Agency) and go to a team that truly needs a "Star" performer.

"Star" Booing (PS3): It has not fully stopped at the 36 game mark; despite the removal of Free Agency talk on the Rumor Mill board. I have not played my Center, hoping that sooner or later I will know what will "trigger" the Bug to go away.

I get so frustrated with the bumping when I try a Euro step with my PG.
In real life the Euro step is one of my favorite moves and I really want to be able to pull it off in the game.

Can anyone give me advice on how do a Euro step successfully or what ratings to increase?

P.S. Right now my Euro step ability is at "average". Is it worth it to save up skill points to make it "good" or "great"?

this year the eurostep only works maybe half the time you try it. most of the time you just get a weird bumping animation and shoot a horrible looking layup. much better off to do a hop step or spin layup, or even just a simple finger roll than to use the euro

I haven't had a endorsement in about a season. However, I am one or two games away from 80 overall. Other than the achievement, is the any endorsement associated with reaching 80?
