Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Great!
Just reloaded the first Mp i started when i bought the game. athletic pg with the knicks. overall 69. have 12 drills though to use so i'll do the dribble course trick now. get my speed and quickness to 90-95 then use the rest of the sp on other things. what do you think i should use it on?
my abilities now:
shot inside 74, shot close 74, shot medium 74, 3pt 65, free throw 74, layup 81, dunk 51, shoot in traffic 81, off hand dribbling 81, ball security, pass & hands all 80, steal 71, on-ball D 71, hustle 75, speed 88, stamina 85, vertical 91, durability 96, quickness 86 (will equip the cp3 shoes, gives me +5 quickness) def awareness 70, off awareness 75, consistency 66
only bad thing is that the save was started before any patch so the crazy trades still here, my knick team is: my player, melo, joe johnson, nene, ty lawson, michael redd, jordan hill, turiaf, balkman, walker, shelden williams & rautinsComment

Anyone get double points for milestones? Obviously I'm happy about it but was wondering if it happens to anyone elseComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Doess anyone else get stuck into post up animation without the ball? This hapens to me a lot. I will get sucked into the post up where they call for the ball, and then I'm not able to get out of it. It really pisses me off, because I am constantly getting called for 3 sec violations. Maybe my strength rating has something to do with it.
After my rookie showcae game, I was projected 9th to the Bobcats. For some reason, I slid all the way to the Celtcs at 23. I figured it would be a good fit, because I'm sure Ray Allen will probably retire after a year or 2. Well, they are all pretty much ball hogs. I don't even really want to be a starter right now anyways, but I wanna go to a team that will actually pass me the ball with more than 3 sec left on the shot clock. Should I ask for a trade?
Yes, into 2nd season, PG/Center, very frustrating but don't let it get to you. On the PS3 hit the "Triangle" to disengage the Post Move and hit the L2 + (move directional stick in the direction to free yourself) to push off the "suck/bump". USE THE L2 as much as possible (all the break free stuff is in the Practice Mode-Off Ball Offense Moves- the Larry Bird one everyone hates)
Yes, "Strength" give you the ability to PUSH OFF and Offensive Awareness makes you player smarter at the offensive end of the floor (he will not get "SUCKED IN" as much.
I will just assume you R a SG, try not to run (turbo) to your next destination THRU TRAFFIC, take different routes.
Are you playing all games or key games. If you are playing all games wait until you get to 25 games before getting antsy. As you build your Teammate Chemistry you will get the ball! Ray Allen will either retire or move on, so that spot is yours!
My first MyPlayer was (SG/Sixers) so I can tell you from personal experience Shooting Guard is not an easy position to play in this mode...kinda like being on an island.
You always have a tough assignment on defense and everyone is pushing and shoving you on offense. This position requires alot of patience and very good basketball team play!
Hang in There!
This is a tough question;
Teams that need a PG: Grizzlies, Hawks, Heat, Hornets, Jazz, (Knicks-pre patch w/o Jeremey Lin @ 75 OVR), Lakers, Magic and Pacers.
But realistically the Rookie Showcase will probably drop you here, if;
Jazz (11th Pick) - Score in high (17-20) double figures, with a few assists, rebounds and steals
Rockets (14th Pick) - Score in med (14-17) double figures, with a few assists, rebounds and steals
Pacers (15th) - Score in low (12-14) double figures, with a assists, rebound and steal
Knicks (17th Pick) - Score in below double figures (6-10) , with a assists, rebound and steal
However, any of these are good assignments for a PG, the Jazz and the Rockets being the toughest. The Pacers are a good young team to grow with even though you will be pushing Darren Collison (not a Star player) to the wayside. The Knicks when healthy are very enjoyable with Carmelo Anthony & Amare Stoudemire to dish to on a regular basis.

Star status is achieved @ Overall Rating of 85, I think my Boo problems started at 83/84. I just can't remember, I have two players currently at relatively the same level of progression and experience. My PG is probably 6-8 games ahead of my Center in the video.Comment

But it won't be enough to upgrade and Ability (8352 SP)
IMHO, I would take tackle Consistency and On-Ball D first, see if you can get them both to 80, anything left over would throw into Shot Medium.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
got my speed to 92 and quickness to 93 with the drills. then equipped the cp3 shoes to add +5 to quickness, then reduces speed from 92 to 90, and quickness from 98 to 90 so i would have more SP. had more than 20000. got my on ball-d, consistency and shot medium to 80, also raised strength from 45 to 50. decided to wait with the ability.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
all damn day i read about how rondo can't shoot, rondo has no jumpshot, been waiting for years for him to develop a jumper and more. well he sure as hell can shoot on 2k12... hits every damn shot he takes, no matter how contested. and so does every opponent in the game.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Wow, my 2nd year PG is tearing up the Association, and may be one of the most all-around players in the league. This season, I'm averaging:
40.0 MPG
21.5 PPG
14.1 APG
7.0 RPG
1.0 SPG
1.5 BPG
.525 FG%
.463 3PT%
.967 FT%
I'm close to the lead league in most metric categories too: Efficiency, TS%, EFG%, WS, PPWS, EWA, Game Score, etc.
I feel like a LeBron, or Dwight Howard, statistically speaking, but should I move up the difficulty or not? Because I read in a thread I created, that you can still drop relatively the same amount of points. But your AI team-mates won't be as good? Meaning I won't be getting Stockton-like assist numbers, but still enough to become a 24-12 player? Any recommendations on the jump between difficulty levels helps. Thanks.

I'm considering making another MP to play, along with my PG. I'm thinking Power Forward, or Center? I don't really want to play the Rookie Showcase, and I really just want to foul out of it, but what team would a center/power forward benefit most from? And what team should I consider playing for? I don't really mind playing in the East, with D12, because, just like my PG, I like the challenge of working to become the best in the league, on a higher difficulty level. My PG scores well in the post, rebounds, and blocks shots and shoots a high FG%, so bringing those skills into a PF/C player would be really fun to see.
Should I play Power Forward or Center? I'm sort of leaning towards Power Forward, because I can play the PF and the C, but I want to be a C because I get to really work on the low block.
Also, what height and weight should I make him? I don't want to be like a 7'2" player, but I don't want to be a 6'9" PF, for example. Weight too...I don't want to weigh like Shaq.Last edited by K.So; 03-01-2012, 09:03 PM.Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Just won a key game against the Knicks 90-81. I played probably my best game so far, 19 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists, but defensively I just shut my guy down. I even hit a rare 3.
Got my first A+ rating of my career so far.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment
