Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
My career on My Player mode has been slow to develop but at 76 nearing the end of my 4th season, I feel optimistic. My career started on a great note in year 1 as a shoot-first "scoring machine" PG (a la Allen Iverson) drafted by the Sixers and ending up winning NBA Rookie Of the Year. Year 2 was a disaster as I was in a crowded backcourt with great depth but not enough minutes to go around, thus I sat on the bench a lot in year 2. By the end of year 2 going into year 3, I was fed up playing 12 minutes a game and asked the Sixers to trade me to either New York or L.A. They traded me at the start of the 3rd season to the Knicks in which I was a Sixth Man and helped the team make the playoffs as an 8th seed that knocked off the #1 seed in 7 games before getting swept in the next round. The end of year 3 was the end of my contract and as a free agent that left NY. I had options after having done so well in the playoffs; The Los Angeles Lakers mad an offer I couldn't refuse with a multi million dollar offer and starting spot. I accepted and became an instant fan favorite and well respected among the team. Jordan gave me my own shoe and we went on a 11 game winning streak to open the season. Now here I sit with a top 10 scorer with buzz of 80 with the team, league wide, local support and a #3 seeding heading into playoffs with on of the most famous NBA franchises in history. I sure have come a long way from Philly! The moral of the story is: if you are playing for a team that keeps you on the bench ask for a trade in your contract year and watch how many teams come running with a starting spot and a million dollar contract..

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I am use to losing with the Hornets, but my most recent loss had me frustrated. We came back back against Denver and had a 10 pt lead in the 4th then eventually loss by 9. I had fouled out Lawson because he played the entire game. He was the only PG on the team and I was determined to get him out. Not to mention it was my best game of my career. It was my 1st triple double. I had 46pts(16-16 FT), 15 assists, 12 steals(team record and career high), and 4 rebs. I got over 10K XP for that game, but It felt wasted blowing a big lead like that. They scored 38pts in the 4th. My teammates couldnt make any shots.
After that game, I was able to max Steal. My OVR is 79(started the season around 70). I am in December or mid Feb. So, I got plenty of time to get it to my target range(88-90). I will now max Off/Def Awr. That should get my OVR to 85. My Def grade is 87. It should be at 99 when I max Def Awr. My Off grade is 79. After that, I will add another element to my offense. I will boost Shot Med and use dribble course(by decreasing speed and max it back) to boost 3pt. I didnt plan after Off/Def Awr. After shot, I will boost consistency, Dunk, and Stepback dribble.
I am avging 18pts, 6.4 assists, and 1.7 steals. I am closing in on my 1st All-Star appearance. I think I am 7th or 8th on the list for Guards. Eric Gordon is right in front of me. The way he is playing, I will pass him very quickly. He misses a ton of shots. I try to get him the ball alot( he takes about 15 shots a game). But, it is no use. If it wasnt for Kaman and Landry, I would wish the season is over with it already. Landry is reliable and Kaman is my go-to-guy. The way I been getting him involved in games, he might go to the All-Star game.
Magic is looking like my choice in FA. Because I cant rely on a SG to be my go-to-guy. I played with Paul George, Gordon, and Stuckey and none of them were reliable. I will go to a team with good big men. The only problem with Magic is that I see the Ryan Anderson just asked for a trade. Even if he doesnt get traded, It would suck if he gets traded next season. But, they are still my 1st choiceLast edited by illwill10; 05-17-2012, 12:41 AM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I think there is a glitch when it comes to current teams. I think they only offer you 1 year 2 mil contract.
You can ask for more money, longer contract, and player option. But, you cant ask for less. You have to watch what the team is saying. If they are frustrated and you ask for more money, they will drastically drop the price.
My Mavs team is pretty old, and Mark Cuban has done NOTHING to improve the team though unfortunately....Attached FilesXBOX 360 GT:TOOinsane89Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I just had a great game in a loss against my former team Wizards. It was a back and forth game. We had a big lead early, then it diminished. Then they had a big lead late, and it diminished and we were able to tie it. But, my go-to-guy(Kaman) was off the entire night(4-13) and miss 2 easy crucial close shots and I gave up a 3pt shot to Wall that proved to be deficit of the gam(loss by 3). I went off after that 3pt shot given up, but that 3pter proved to be the eventual game winner. I had 33pts in the 2nd half. While Kaman was inconsistent, Eric Gordon(who has been inconsistent the entire year) hit a 3 to bring it within 3. But, he missed a full court shot to tie it up(aint mad at him.). He has a green light to shoot any shot besides mid range shots. But, he passes up alot of shots. I ended up with 48pts, 14 assists, 5 steals and blocks(1st 3-3 game). I even won player of game in a loss.
After that game, I got a magazine, shot up the all-star list, and landed on most improved player list. I went from 10th in guard list to 6th(only 3 PGs in front of me). I am 3rd in Most improved Player list. I went from avging 13pt and 3 assists to avging 19pts and 6.5 assists, and 1.7 steals. I am 2nd in Blocks (.8) for PGs. I won my 2nd Player of Week.
I was able to get Def Awr to 82 and Off Awr 81. It got my Ovr to 81(bumped by 2). It got my Def grade to 94. I will max both Off/Def Awr. It should get me to 85-87 range. After that, I will boost Shot Med and Consistency. Which should get me to 90. I want a 14 mil+ contract.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I'm new to MP and have a quick question:
Is there a point where you can ask management to trade for a player? Not ask for a trade for my guy, but ask the GM to trade for another guy. Like if I wanted Cole Aldrich on my team, at what point in my MP career could I go to the GM and ask for them to go get him?"Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
A tip for you:
Dont rely on wing players or make choices for a team due to wing players.
I notice that unless they rely on abilities(like post moves or special shots like fadeaway) they will be useless at times.
I had my SF sign for the Pacers to team up with Paul George, I am current a teammate of Eric Gorden and Stuckey(2 different MPs). And all of them have been disappointments. Especially George. He gives up a lot of points and passes up a lot of shots.
If anything, look at their tendencies before you ask for a trade. So at least you will know who will be around you.
Big men are you friend. They are reliable. My offseason decisions for my PG will be based off of the frontcourt and depth.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I've been messing around with college hoops 2k8 for a long time and finally my buddy told me I need to get with the times and get Nba 2k12 and try my player mode. Now I haven't owned an nba game since Nba Live 2000 for N64 so needless to say i was a little scared, skeptical of jumping in to an nba game. Man was I wrong. Just picked it up and I'm already addicted.
I created a PG 6'2 185 lbs and man did I suck. I got drafted by the crappy Bobcats and I averaged about 7 points off the bench. I went back and did some of the legend tutorials and my guy is now averaging about 15 points a game. This is the most fun I've had in a video game since...well my college hoops dynasty. Now if we could just have 2k make a college football game...KaBoom

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I just had my 1st win a while and it was against a good team(Clippers). We were down early then came back. I was in foul trouble early and only played 9 mins in the 1st half but we were still up by 14 at the half. But, I played the entire 2nd half. I had 20pts, 7 assists, and 3 steals in the 2nd half. The big thing about this game was keeping the lead late. My teammates were missing shots and they werent. They went off 1 with under 10 secs. I was able to get fouled and made 2 clutch shots to win a game. I ended up with I think 34-36 pts, 9 assists, and 7 steals. The best stat I had was getting Chris Paul to foul out with 5 mins left. I targeted him hard in the 2nd half. I was thinking if we are going to lose, CP3 wasnt going to be the reason.
I am 5th on All-Star list for Guards(3rd for PGs). As long as I continue doing what I am doing, I am a lock for All-Star game. I am 2nd in Most improved Player.
After that game and a set of drills, I was able to get Def Awr to 93 and Off Awr to 92. It got my OVR to 84. After I max them both, it should get my overall to 86-87.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
made a pass first point guard was drafted 12th by the Jazz really enjoyed playing for them. Had a double double in 3 out of 8 games but for some reason i requested a trade to the knicks and completely sucked couldnt get anything going lol
so recreated my pass first point guard
rookie showcase 11pts,2rebounds,11assists,6steals,3blocks was drafted 8 to the Pistons so hopefully can play well for them even though brandon knight is somehow on the Pistons stillComment
