Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I normally buy the NBA games towards end of season after a price drop, pretty much just for my player. Rented it this weekend for PS3 as 360 version wasn't in. The load times on the PS3 are horrible, 45-60 secs to get into games/drills. Is the 360 version this bad as well? Just trying to figure out if I want to continue my career on the PS3 or start over on the 360. Is one version that much better then the other?

    Thanks,
    Jeffrey

Yea, load times are pretty brutal, you need to hear that stupid song once thru, then when it starts to loop a second time usually your loading is finished.

I never tried installing the game to the 360 hdd so I don't know if that helps.

The loading times may be brutal, but it's worth it, despite all the glitches.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Had a great game against LAL in a win. I almost broke the record for Steals a game. They moved Kobe to PG because they dont have any PGs on their team. I knew I was going to have alot of steals because I knew even if he was going to pass the ball he would get the ball back. I had 31pts(average shooting, but not bad or good), 14 pts, 4 rebs, and 15 steals. I wasnt mad even though I had a full quarter to get 1 TO. It isnt a milestone or a hall of fame goal. My name is on the record list. We were blowing them out big time for most of the game.

We are hot. We are on a 8-2 run in March. We are 11th in conference, but only 1.5 games back from 8th spot. We have a great chance of making the playoffs after starting poorly. I have 4 key games. I dont care if we get swept in the playoffs, as long as we make it.

I got Consistency to 93. I am 21 assists away from 1000 career assists. I have 2 back-to-back key games, so I wont boost consistency. I should have at least 20K+ XP and a set of drills. I will use it to get Fadeaway from Poor to Good.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I've never been cheesed so hard in my life in My Player before this game.

The game before, we blew the Warriors out by like 20 (on Superstar difficulty).

I decided to turn the difficulty up to Hall Of Fame but I was not prepared for the level of cheese I would experience in this Game 4 of the first round of the playoffs.

My teammates don't box out or jump for rebounds..at all. Kevin Love was dominated on the glass by a 55 rated overall bench player who averaged 1.6 rebounds in the regular season. He grabbed as many offensive rebounds and Kevin Love grabbed total rebounds. It's not the fact that we lost. (Hey, it happens. Teams have bad games. I had a terrible game.) But it's how we lost. All of a sudden, my teammates stop guarding their men, and when they do guard them, the Warriors still make highly contested, low quality shots. Tayshaun Prince is dunking like 'Nique in '85 over 2 and sometimes 3 of my teammates...in traffic. The CPU's traveling and backcourt violations aren't called, etc.

2K really needs to learn how to translate difficulty better. They don't have to cheat us to challenge us.

What camera angle do you guys use?

I want to see if I can change it to a vertical view of some type to get more rebounds.

Do you guys use the view that I see a lot of YouTube videos on? What view is that called? Also what distance, etc etc?

I play on Drive, 7, 5 on, off, on. Since you're talking about rebounds for it, my 6'3 PG averages 8 rpg.

I got so used to the realistic camera (the side to side view) that I really don't know what all of those numbers mean. Could you please be a bit more specific for me?

I want to really try that view everyone on YouTube uses. I hate how it looks but it seems the game is easier (especially for rebounds) that way.

I think I use "Turbo" camera. I like to what is in front of me and it doesnt flip on possessions.

I had a foul-troubled game against Clippers(barely played the 4th Q) but almost had a triple double and still won. Then I blew out Cavs after a 32pt, 17 assist, 5 steal game. We have been winning alot of games lately. Ever since I got steal maxed, I have been beating teams. We are one of the hottest teams in the league. We are 15-3 of our last 18 games. We are in 9th place and 1 game back. I think we have 5 games left. I have 2 key games left. We actually have a shot at the 7th seed. If we beat Suns(7th seed and non-key game ) and end up tied up with them, we will have the tie-breaker.

I got my 1000 career assist. I got Fadeaway to Good and got Consistency to 97. I havent played a game since then, but tried it out in Shootaround. Shooting the Fadeaway from Mid range(maxed at 99) is deadly. I am closing in on 250 steals in a season. I should get it next game(4 away). I should max Consistency next game. After that I dont know what to boost, I have my OVR at 92. I want it to be 93 when I sign my contract. I dont think Maxing Consistency by boosting it only twice will get it there. But, the other ratings arent ratings that will boost my Ovr. Like I said before, I will boost 3pt next season. If anything, I will boost Dunk. I havent missed many dunks(probably just 3) in my 3 seasons at 50. Other ratings would be Hands, Hustle, Off Clutch, and Vertical

Imagine my surprise when I start the 2nd season of My Player athletic 2 guard with the Knicks and see coaching the team:

None other than the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama!

What's most interesting to me is he's using the Philly playbook. Figured he'd run the Chicago one, right?

30 games into my first season as a faceup PF on the Suns and we are TERRIBLE. Had a few blow out losses, but most of them are because of the crazy CPU cheese. I started the season off slow, but then I had to start taking way more shots because my teammates were making stupid plays. I'm averaging 25 PPG and 6 RPG while shooting 50% FG. We're still only 9-21 so far and it's incredibly frustrating. I'm just going to have to keep demanding the ball and try to will us to some victories until we make some sort of trade to give us some help.

The Heat are 26-4 so far. DWade and Lebron are both averaging 28 PPG.
The Spurs are the best in the West at 22-9. They made some crazy deal with the Rockets and basically got Goran Dragic for NOTHING.
Kevin Durant is averaging 37 PPG (yeah..you read that right). A few games ago he dropped 58 on Orlando. Just thought that I would mention a few things going on around the league.

Is anyone else having a frustrating rookie season? I'm not going to demand a trade, but damn...I want to be in the playoffs.
