Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

    PG/SCORING/KNICKS/YEAR 2/80

    K. Jackson [MP] is the Next Jason Kidd!

Putting up Rondo numbers, after settling into a new offensive role for my PG. Shooting less (13 FGA), but shooting a good %, because I try to cut down on how much USG% I take up. Shooting high % from plays ran for me, isos, post ups, transition, transition 3s. Starting to notice that my team-mates would rather give the ball to me when I'm on the floor, if there's 5 seconds left of the shot clock. I got the Ginobili jumper, and 3s are almost a lock. Shooting .472 this season on around 80 tries.

Assisting a ton, and utilising Carmelo and Amar'e more, and letting them settle into natural roles. Now they're consitently putting up 25+ PPG. I'm only scoring on the cusp of 18-20 PPG this stretch, but that's fine. Assists are high the past few games, at near 15 APG.

Rebouding well, 6 RPG. I'm focusing more on defense, as my on-ball is horrid, and for some losses, we lose because I'm doing a horrid job defending the other team's PG. D-Will decided to put up 30 shots on me recently...luckily he only went 10-30 that game. Getting the knack of steals; post-entry passes are the easiest to pick off, and if you have a PG against you who can't shoot the three, I can shade off and anticipate the pass.

vs. UTA: Playing Utah (16-5) currently, at home (teacher strike in our province). Really just want this game to be over, even though it's a top team vs. top team, and I want to start the games vs. the Heat which is after.

2x Player of the Week this month...December 13th, 2012 and we haven't got an announcement of the November Player of the Month. Hopefully me after dropping 3 triple-doubles and averaging 22/6/13.

Carmelo and Stoudemire are both 100,000 votes ahead of LeBron

Big Z is out until the start of February. Shame because he was averaging 10/6 on .800 shooting. He was going to set an all-time record...

I was able to get open looks by setting screens and raised to fit my playing style from there but THE MOST IMPORTANT STAT to raise, if you want to carry your team is Team Chemistry. Just back your teammates in every press conference and soon you'll be seeing the ball a lot, giving you many opportunities to make or set the play.

        ^^ I have a Team-mate Chemistry of 90, and every-time I call for the ball, I will get it...what will happen if I get to 100?

        PG/SCORING/KNICKS/80 OVR/YEAR 2

I also do not understand how my Knicks PG is first in the league in Efficiency (30.1) but I'm only sporting a 23.1 PER. It may be because of the high pace that we run in NYC, leading to more scoring/assists and maybe my possessions (FGA+TO) factors into it, but I'm using just under 1/4 of our team's possessions, according to the 2K12 MP Metric Stats. Not taking too many shots per game...I'm currently averaging:

        40.0 MPG (1st)
        22.1 PPG (12th)
        13.1 APG (1st)
        6.4 RPG (1st GUARDS; 34th OVR)
        1.6 SPG (16th)
        1.4 BPG (18th)

        .532 FG% (8th)
        .472 3PT FG% (7th)
        .920 FT% (5th)

I'm not showing off or anything, I just want to know why having such a high Efficiency (30.1) leads to a somewhat low PER (23.1)

        Can anybody tell me why?

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

When I was looking at my Player Card, I noticed the attribute "Shoot off Dribble." Mine was a staggeringly low 55, which I feel contributes to some of my shooting woes.

What I further noticed, was there is no direct way to increase this skill via skill points.

What does this attribute affect, and why is it included if there is no way for us to improve it? Seems unfair if it affects your shooting without any chance of increasing the skill...

            Another few random questions:

Does Hustle affect how fast your guy can run around the court? I know it helps on loose balls, but does it cut down on slugishness around the court?

Will increasing Offensive clutch increase my chances of knocking down an open 3. I know you have to play with the default settings, so I assume you are playing "MyPlayer" with clutch factor on. I am at 99 3pts, 99 consistency, 90 Off Awareness, but still miss more open 3s than I should, and watch way too many CPU 3s going in with great defense.

hey, i am not new to nba2k game but its my first time i try the "my player" thing, i didnt had much time whice now i have plenty.
ok, so i must say i think i suck badly - please tell me how i am comparing to other starters, so i created a pg all around player(duke), drafted 16th by 76ers, after 20 games i was sick of them i asked to get traded and i moved to dallas, now(mid-season) after 40 games i have very lame numbers(i think, i dunno tell me..) 15 ppg, 4 rpg, 2 spg, 0.9 bpg, 40 fg% (play 5 min quarters).
so - how is this for start? any one can give me tips to get easier assits to my team mates? tips for defence? any general tips? (i find it really hard to steal).
ps, sorry for the lame bad englise - thanks in advance.

Bit of a surprise. I just finished the all-star game, and my minutes are the same(41).

And I'm in my 4th season, so my minutes have gotten diminished 3 years in a row.

Also, I was glad to finally see a different Arena for the all-star game, the game was in Orlando.

created an all-around 6'4" 190lb shooting guard, got drafted tenth overall to the bucks (no real life rookies cause this is from the original rosters when the game first came out)... my first year after bout twenty games we traded captain jack an bogut to the lakers for bynum an metta world war (an also somehow got shannon brown an dudley from the suns but i forget who/what we gave up for them) the team finished 4th in the east (45-37), beat orlando 4-1 in the first round, then lost 4 in a row to the knicks after taking the first 2 in NYC ( i led the league in scoring/steals/an minutes at 32ppg, 3.2spg, and 39mpg (also avg 6.5apg, 5.4rpg, 48% fg and 37% from 3pt land, oh an also set the nba record for to's in a season lol... won ROY, named an all-star reserve & 1st team all-nba and 1st team all-defense)... im now in my 2nd season and our record stands at 24-6 (1st in the entire league) and my averages have gone up across the board pretty drastically while ive managed to cut my to's in half (2.4 a game)... im an 83 ovr, and bynum and jennings are an 84ovr & 83ovr respectively... im sitting on 40k sp at the moment (my step-back jumper is good as are my crossover, hesitation & size-up moves, everything else is average) and im only gonna spend my points on abilities from now on so im wondering which ones i should make great an which ones i can afford to leave as average or at best good, any suggestions?

i think the way to increase the shoot off dribble rating is to increase the pull-up dribble ability, can anyone confirm this..(mine is average for right now and in attributes its a 65)

Yes, only way and it is expensive and caps out to a certain number depending on what you made your player I believe. Example; Athletic, Defensive, etc

I have just got this game after not playing a NBA game since about 2008.

Like the myplayer feature, but its rough!

                            I created a 6'8" SF Point Forward.
Got Drafted by the Suns..moved into the starting lineup after 10 or so games ( Grant hill was hurt, he came back and I was still starting )..they moved hill to PF.
                            Lineup
                            c-Gortac
                            PF- Grant Hill
                            SF- MyPlayer
SG- Vince Carter ( not sure how I didn't get latest rosters aren't they automaticic every time you sign in ? )
                            PG- Nash

Myplayer ratings are terrible and he can't even dunk. I have been spending every point on increasing Dunk. Which probably isnt helping because it does nothing yet so I still have to struggle like hell to do anything in the game.

Record 21-13 2nd in western conference .5 back from LA
Just beat Miami and LA back to back ( Destroyed LA! and Kobe got hurt mid game )... also had my First dunk was a pass that got tipped bounced off derek fishers head and two hand slammed it ( dunk is at 72 or something now trying to get it to 80 at least before I start fixing my other stats it started at 30! wtf. )

PS Aaron Brooks needs to go away, I cringe every time nash goes for a rest and that guy comes in. Never passes wastes the whole shot clock and throws up ridiculous garbage constantly.

What stats should I increase as a Point Forward? Ball handling and passing seems decent but my guy can't make a shot to save his life anywhere on the floor. I pretty much post up every time and that seems to be my best option at this point but its a constant struggle and not much fun.

Profile http://www.nba2k.com/nba/profile/0/9398065 ( the crazy dunk off fishers head is in there )

Got my first couple A's finally takes me all game with almost no mistakes at all to get up there.

                              PG/ATHLETIC/76ERS/66 OVR/YEAR 1

Currently 17 games into my career, sitting at 9-8.

NJ: 12 points, 3 boards, and 13 assists. Really started to feel it as a PG in this one, found the open guys and put them in great position to score, and it paid off as we knocked off the 11-3 Nets. This was my first game as a starter.

NO: First career triple double. Ended up with 29 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists, and accomplished multiple other milestones. I got a lot of my points by just running on the fast break and slamming it home before their defense could really get set. Ended up getting 10k in skill points that I used to bump my passing from a 65 to an 84, bringing up overall up to a 66.

CLE: Wow, first quarter and I can tell definitely tell the difference in my passing rating. I ended up with 10 assists in the first quarter alone, and finished with 21 overall (tying the 76ers team record). Ended up with 23 points, 7 boards, and 21 assists, had 4 blocks for good measure and hit the game winning shot with 0.6 remaining to seal a 96-94 win!! I did end up with 9 turnovers though (stupid passes to get to 20 assists and got my pocket picked a couple of times so I'm going to focus on ball security).

Just got the 2k mag cover after that one!

                              Important attributes:
                              Speed: 90
                              Quickness: 90 (+5 shoes)
                              Shot medium: 85
                              Layup: 91
                              Pass: 84

My 3pt SG already up all abilities (including dribble pull up) from poor to great and I think my shoot off dribble rating still be the same. Just checked my old save file at 1st season. (in 7th season right now)

Another glitch that u cant change ur shoot off dribble?
