Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Only milestone my SG can accomplish this year is 1000 rbs. But, that might not be until late this year. I think he is 130 away. I doubt he can finally make All-star. But, I will try my hardest. Like I said before I have alot of key games in Dec-Feb and with higher Off Grade, I should be able to score more. I barely gotten any endorsements, no shoes. After getting Shot inside/Close/FT to 85 and getting Steal and Vertical to 93, I will focus on Abilities.
But, I might continue with my PF. I didnt play with that player probably in a week or more. He is still in early 2nd year.

For a Scorer (speed & quickness) attributes are outrageously expensive to upgrade. However, with the Athletic set, upgrading the 3 pt is outrageously expensive! So its a trade off. Then again, if you are excellent at ball/pass fakes and dribble moves then you can probably get away with the lack of speed (assuming you do not plan on driving to the basket) to consistently get open shots.

If my memory serves me correctly there is a 20 point difference in speed & quickness between Scoring and Athletic. And of course the Scoring skill set can't dunk. However, if you plan on being a hop and pop scoring machine that drops 30 a night from long range then this is the easiest way to get there is the Scoring skill set.

YES, ATHLETIC SKILL SET, SHOOTS BRICKS TO BEGIN!!!

My mistake with choosing Scoring was he was too short, 6-5, he couldn't shoot over DBL teams and I waited too long to upgrade his Quickness and Off Awareness which would of solved the problem of consistently getting open looks at the hoop after the All Star game Break. Also 27/40 shooting style I use is technically pure but a "slow" release of the ball.

However, the one that really turns me off is the All-Around, he can't anything of value to start, LOL

Sorry if that's my mistake, I heard it not experienced it myself. I guess "scoring" is still faster than "3pt" anyway. I compared the speed to 3pt sg (which is what I choosed and I think have the worst speed among SG) For upgrading, I just use dribble drills to upgrade my speed and quickness. If I didn't get speed or quickness, I reload and try again.

If anything, try to work on boosting other attributes associated with dribble course.
After maxing quickness, ball security, off-hand dribbling, quickness, stamina, I only get speed and layup as a reward. Since I maxed Speed, taking 1 off and maxing it again is what I do. I get almost 2500 XP for it. so, I have a chance to get over 5K XP every time I get a paycheck.

In all honesty if your intentions are shooting for a scoring title as a career goal I would go with Scoring over Athletic for a SG. The fact that you have at least 10 seasons to get faster and be able to dunk makes it a no brainer....

Great Point, illwill10, the Dribble course drill is an excellent source for a SG to upgrade his speed and quickness along the way. BC the rating starts for SG/Scoring is so low --- the course will reward you for a long time with speed and quickness...UNLIKE my Athletic PG who is at the point where he only gets Stamina or Durability!

That's a great method for remax your speed by dribble drill to get extra sp. I never do that and cant think of that method. Earlier in my career, when my speed wasn't maxed out yet I just try to get as much as speed as possible so I reload and retry dribble drill a lot. Sometimes, it took me 5-6 reloads to get the speed I want. When my speed and quickness were maxed, i just use dribble drill to get whatever I got. Never taking it off and remax again for extra skill points.

Right now I hope I can exchange my SP to money oi that I can buy cap boosts. I have around 200000 sp sitting in my account right now since I already maxed out all of my abilities and attributes. If I wanna upgrade my cap from 90 speed to 95 speed. I need $7.5m just for one +5 attribute cap. (I bought 2 cap for speed already so right now my speed is 92) That's really expensive. I get many skill points and there is no place to use them anymore.

Im considering recreating my PF. I havent played with him in a while and I want to play with newer and edited rosters.
I might create a 6'11 260 All-Around PF. I chose Face-up PF last time, since it started with high Med and Close ratings. But, I rarely face up.
I want to create a PF that starts off with abilities not all at poor.

Due to the PS3 freeze glitch, I decided to trade it in for the xbox 360 version. I am forced to recreate all my players. I already had plans to recreate a PF and possible PG since they were early in their career. But, my SG was in his 5th year. So, I have to do that All over again. This time I will focus on getting League Pop up 1st before teammate grade. Instead of a SG, I will do a SF. I will just play key games, so I can quickly get back to where I was at.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

As the PG, do you guys have "go-to" plays for your My Player's team-mates to run? These plays seem to almost always get wide-open looks, or good looks inside. Especially the "NYK Horn Flex Cutter" and the NYK PnR plays, like "NYK 4 Punch" "NYK 1 Chest" and "NYK Fist". But the AI seems to pick up on the plays if you abuse them too much, so, whenever we need a quick score, I'll try those plays and even if the original purpose fails, the defense seems to collapse anyways.

Superstar is getting on the brink of too easy, as my MP Rookie PG is becoming a walking double-double, and getting triple doubles around once every 15 games or so, even with a maxed out 65 rebound rating. I'm switching to HoF I guess, to get more enjoyable play, because we're (Knicks) on a 16-game win streak, and we've dismantled every team, including the No. 1 Heat.

Which are the best for All-Star Sliders and HoF Sliders?
Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Been playing on Pro with the Suns at PG. Last month of the season I switched it up to All-Star difficulty. First game was against the King, and have 7 Turn Overs. *facepalm*

                        My Player
                        6'7" Point Guard (because w/e)
                        Kain Krauthammer
Drafted by, and still playing with The Suns
80 overall rating by end of the regular season
                        4 Best Offense Stats
                        - 90 mid range, 90 layup, 90 shoot in traffic, 90 pass
                        4 Main Defense Stats
                        - 90 man def, - 70 steal, 65 def rebound, 80 def aware

Still. We have the number one seed in the East, I got rookie of the year (didn't make an All-Star Team), and quickly took over the starting spot from Steve Nash. The only real issues I've had is with my Coach and my General Manager.

We are making a run for the Playoffs, and he makes literally no changes to a team that has(before updated roster):

3 point guards, who need the ball in their hands to be most effective
                        - Me, Steve Nash, Aaron Brooks

                        3 low post players/Roll Men
                        - Marcin Gortat, H. Warrick, Robin Lopez

                        6 3 point shooters
                        - G. Hill(F), Mikael Pietrus(F), V. Carter(2), C. Frye(F), Steve Nash(1), Dudley(F)

                        3 Consistent defenders/rebounders
                        - Me, G. Hill, Ma Gortat, R. Lopez

Basically, too many forwards that just shoot the ball, and not enough defenders/rebounders.

                          Center/7-2/272lbs/ATH/Bucks (10th)

My Player, "The Eraser", will be modeled after David Robinson (HOF-Spurs), rebounder and shot blocker who can also score efficiently from the low post and mid-range. My goals are to lead the league in shots blocked and rebounds. David Robinson: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Robinson_(basketball)

20 GAMES into the season and having a superb time playing for the Bucks. Gone is the stress of handling and passing the ball (PG/KNICKS)! Well at least for a few hours LOL; then back to my FULL-TIME Job!!!

However, I use FOUL LANGUAGE much more playing Center as I fight my way thru picks and watch 6 foot point guards steal rebounds from me ... FOR NOW! On top of that brain cramps trying to get into position in the paint allow me to scream when I am granted the 3 Sec Violation (turnover)!!!

Bucks: Nobody overly impressive on this defensive minded team with a strong bench. PG Brandon Jennings (79) and streaky shooter - SG Steven Jackson (83) are the primary scorers and they have moved Andrew Bogut (78)(former No 1 pick) to Power Forward to make room for My Player.

The Team Chemistry is GREAT and we have the 4th best record in the Eastern Conference!!!

The commentary centers around the Bucks lack of a consistent scorer which for My Player is ideal, BC, I expect to concentrate on Defense and guarding the paint while dropping between 15-20 points per night from the low post by the end of the season! Yes, I am going to be dunking on folks in the paint!!!

After getting his Shot Inside to (80) and Hustle to (90); I have been concentrating on getting his physical and rebounding skills to a high level and ignoring shooting for now. Off & Def Rebounding, Dunk, Standing Dunk, Low Post D and Low Post Shot.

I also have been throwing some points into Free Throws BC he always shoots at the low post and in traffic and gets fouled alot. And of course I am throwing a little in Consistency when I have a big game.

Once I get to 30 games (i play all games) then I will start paying a little more attention to his shooting skills. For now he is a card carrying member of the Bricklayers Union!!!

I have been reading rumors that All-Star difficulty (and higher) is un-playable in My Player Mode.

After reviewing a few threads lately I noticed a few of you have been playing at these levels of difficulty, so what is the difference in your opinion.

The primary compliant appears to be that the shooting percentage of your opponent is outrageous...the runs and comebacks via 3 pt shooting lead to rage quitting!

That being said, I also noticed that folks playing at the higher levels are putting up big scoring numbers....the other rumor is that you got to drop at least 30 per night to win.

I think I can handle the tightening of My Player play but a constant barage of successful 3's by my opponent maybe too much for me to handle.

Someone in the know pls clarify....
