Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Hi I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to score more effectively. I'm an athletic SF with the bobcats (we're terrible) and I've noticed that I get blocked a LOT. I thought that maxing my midrange j would help (95), but I still miss a lot of open looks. So I've started driving more, but I: 1) turn it over a lot, and 2)get blocked a lot. So if anyone could give me some tips, it'd be much appreciated! Thanks

For turnovers, bring up ball security. For getting blocked, I usually work on shot in traffic, close, layup, etc

        PG/ATH/KNICKS/Soph/OVR: 86
The A-Train - Defend the Title!
        Knicks: (19-9) , 1st Atlantic Division, 1st Eastern Conf, Power Rank: 2

        <img src="http://media.nba2k.2ksports.com/screenshot/aa38b556.jpg" height="475px" width="710px" border="0" />

Jrue; It's going to be tough tonight; I bought tickets for my whole family!

        Key Game(s) - Star Matchup - Jrue Holliday (Back-to-Back)

@ 76ers: Not much to complain about, Amare Stoudemire (35pts, 7 Rebs) controlled this one, but of course the Sixers made 2 runs, 1 in the 3rd & 4th quarters to put them within 10 w/just under 5 minutes left. We turned it on @ the end to keep them at bay, Knicks 92, Sixers 82.

Holliday would have a rough one (6-16) from the field w 2 TOs, while the A-Train dropped 22pts, 5 assists, 4 steals & 3 Blocks w just one turnover (JPoG).

VS. 76ers: A little too much cheese and I got irritated early with the easy buckets Holliday was getting off transition. The A-Train was blocked often by the bunching of players. He got a few other cheap ones on rebounds while "boxed out" (long rebounds)(allow off rebound...allow man to score), you jump by the time you recover he has the shot up (Hustle).

Holliday would bounce back on (9-17) for 20pts, assts, 2 steals w 2 TOs, while the A-Train threw a "string of interceptions" (5) in the 1st half and getting two frustration fouls. He would bounce back in the 2nd half, committing just one turnover while dropping 26pts, (FG: 50%), 7 assists, 3 steals & 3 Blocks w just one turnover (6).

Tidbits: The Sixers "draft pick" (Juwan Matthews - 70 - No 1 overall) was a PF who didn't do much against Amare. The 76ers are at rock bottom in the Eastern conference.

Skill Points: Upgraded Ability - Stepback Jumper to Average, I have my 3 primaries done now (Fadeaway, Dribble Pull-up, Stepback Jumper) and pushed my Hustle to (83).

We leave MSG and go on a 3-game road trip where I hope to save (5K) to move my Ball Security(81) to (85) as a precaution, then Save another (8000+ SP) to move my 3-pt back to (89) after losing my Jordan Brand shoes.

Booing: Upon return to MSG, it died down a bit after the 1st qtr, and the down the stretch free throws the quieting of the crowd returned. A good sign it just may be over.

I checked my Center's trade status in the Rumor Mill; ERASER: NEXT SEASON OUT OF MY HANDS - Kings hold team option for the Eraser for next year. Both players are involuntarily on the Trade/Rumor Mill Board.

Height & Weight do not matter too much.

My Center at 7-2, 272 lbs has been pushed by Jameer Nelson (PG/ 6ft/190lbs) under the back board. He can be kept off the low post block while being "bumped" by much smaller point guards in the paint!

Go to the main menu, and take a look at the average size and weight of players for PF & Center and see what you like. For example Al Horford is just 6-10/250lbs and plays Center, while Dirk Nowitzki is 7-0/245lbs and plays Power Forward.

Good Luck with your Big Man.

I dont know how much more the starters and our 6th man, CJ Miles need to keep busting our a** for the bench to do something. Melo had 32, Stoudemire had 20, I had 18 and a triple double, Ilgauskas, Douglasand CJ Miles all had 10, and we still lost 103-102...As defendig champs, we are only 8-7.

What a revelation Toney Douglas has been for us this season. Averaging 14 PPG and 4 APG as our starting SG. He is incredible beyond the arc, and he and Aaron Brooks (26/4/4) have been averaging just over three 3's per game. They ate both on pace to finish with 250 3PM, and I really want Douglas to break Ray's record. He is inconsistent sometimes... two games ago he got 22 on 5-11 3PM-A but than only got 10 points on 2-12 3PM-A.

i like my 6'11 center hes a mix of dwight howard and kevin garnett. he can rebound and score in the post. and has a dunk rating of 82. He weighs like 190 tho cuz i wanted him to look like dwight howard in real life , 2k got all the body shapes off. if i made em 245 he woulda looked big like shaq.

Question, did any of you purchase Paul Pierce's jumpshot? I just want to know if they have the different variations of his shot of just the one main form.

Advice on big men. I made a 7'0" 220 lb. Center. Projected to go 8th, but went 12th to Utah. Already becoming the most dominant offensive C in the league... Averaging 18.5 PPG and 19.3 MPG while having 9 FGA per game. I am drawing fouls like Karl Malone... Averaging 10 FTA per game. We have really bad plays in Utah, and have ball hogs for PG.

I want to be traded to a team where a C would be the focal point offensively.

                            Advice?

I've never had more fun than I've had with create a legend mode. I've decide to go with Irvin and bring the Cavs back to prominence. So far irving has been dominant. We are off to a fast start to a 6-2 record.

The best game I've played was against Boston in a overtime loss. I finished with 52 points, 12 rebounds and 11 Assists. Had a chance to win the game in overtime. Missed a jumper to win the game. I also had a chance to send the game to a 2nd overtime but I missed a bad 3 attempt.

So far I've amassed 50,000 skill points and don't plan on using any of them anytime soon.
