Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Made a new PG, this time a Scoring PG. Got drafted by the Suns and came off the bench while Nash wound his career down. I became the starter my second season while Nash backed me up. By the 3rd season, Nash retired and I was carrying the team on my back, because NOBODY could hit a shot consistently besides me. After we barely squeezed into the playoffs and got dispatched by the Thunder in 5 in the first round, I was out of there.
Free agent contract came, and I picked the Magic. Why? LeBron went there in the offseason, and Howard was still there too. That's pretty much all we need. Assists are easy to get now, since all I have to do is dump it in to D12. I share ballhandling duties with LeBron, so sometimes I play the 2 by default while he brings the ball up. I finally got my speed up to 99 (took a LOT of saving and the 5K point milestone for it to happen), so now I'm 99 speed/99 quickness. I just blow by slower PGs on my way to the basket. I scored 68 in a 2OT thriller against OKC a few games ago.
I'm having fun with this team. We're 29-9 and #1 in the East so far in my 4th season. I almost have all the shooting ranges maxed out (99 in 3pt/medium/FT/layup, 90 close and 86 inside). I'm working on upping the vertical and offensive clutch before I start raising his dunk rating.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself, long time reader. Anyways, figured I'd start postin' & btw this is by far the best MyPlayer thread on any site (2kSports, IGN, etc.) I've learned more here over the past few months than anywhere else.

Hi all, too a long time reader, just registered.
Have trawled through a lot of this thread but 278 pages is a lot so forgive me.
Only playing on Pro as first 2k game. After a week I can score 20pts & 4 boards a game but can't get rebounds up. Def Rebounds at 80, vertical at 85 and I'm a 7ft athletic centre.
Timing is getting better but I still get beaten 1v1 by my PG even though we jump same time or the ball always go to where I'm not. Should I use RT+Y instead of just Y?
Really want to ave 9-10 a game.
Any tips help you can offer?
Thanks in advanceComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Just had a good game in a loss against 76ers. They are a frustrating team to face because of the draft glitch plus they are good at getting steals(6 TOs for me). Besides TOs, I had a really good game. I had 26 pts(9-18), 7 rebs, 4 assists, 5 blocks, 5 steals. We mainly loss the game because my teammates couldnt make shots and they did.
After that game and last few games, I boosted FT to about 90. I have it at 85, but lately been having a tough time making FTs consistently. I will continue boosting Block. I have it at 59 and it maxes at 80. I will then boost Off AWR and Def AWR so I can boost OVR for my contract.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Finally got my internet back on so it's time for a LONG overdue update.
PG #12 Thomas Hamilton
Drafted 26th OVR by the Mavericks
I am currently 23 games into my 4th season.
STATS:
25.6 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 10.5 APG
2014 MVP
2x All Star
2x 1st Team All-NBA
2x League Leader in Steals
2x 1st Team All-Defense
2013 MIP
Interesting moves Around the league:
CP3-Signed with the Suns
Melo-Signed with the Clippers
Iggy-Signed with the Cavs; Traded to POR for Nicolas Batum
Brandon Jennings-Signed w/ the Pistons
After my third season (MVP) with the Mavericks, I was faced with a dilemma. I was skeptical at going back to Dallas because Mark Cuban had done NOTHING to improve the roster. I originally wanted to take my talents to the Staples Center and form Lob City 2.0 w/ Blake & D.J. since CP3 signed w/ the Suns. Unfortunately, they weren't on the list of interested teamsMy other 3 choices were the Heat, the Knicks, and the Magic. I initially wanted to go to NYC, but I noticed that they hadn't resigned Melo, (and had 4 PGs on the roster) so I decided against them. Then I said I'll go team up with D12 and demolish the opposition. Unfortunately, they were trying to lowball the reigning MVP with 7 mil/year. So I said eff that! Automatically decided against the Heat b/c 1. They hadn't resigned LeBron and I knew they couldn't afford us both. 2. I didn't wanna do the whole super team thing.
In the end, I resigned with the Mavericks. Currently sitting at 14-9, riding a 5-game winning streak. Dirk is a shell of his former self. I can't pay him to shoot a wide open jumper anymore. My most consistent teammate is Yi Jianlian who, despite having a C- ATH rating, throws it down on the opposition with regularity lol...I'm hoping and praying that the Mavs trade for a CPU generated 3rd year SF named Jake Fox. He was drafted by the Cavs in 2012 and averaged 22 PPG as a rookie. Since then, they've signed Iggy, traded Iggy for Batum, and drafted another SF named Mickey Winters. So now Fox is unhappy. Management better not screw this one up or im gone! I'll keep you posted!

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
My Player
Abe Carpenter [not my real name btw]
Position:SG
Play Type:3-point Spec
Modeled After:Lebron James/Oscar Robertson
Jersey Number:5
Draft:1st Round, 25th Pick[Drafted by the Dallas Mavericks]
Rookie Showcase: 37 Points, 10 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 55%FG
Set Difficulty:All-Star
Game Type:Simulation
Minutes:12
Interview: *Turned Down The Pistons, Golden State, and Bucks
*I didn't want to play for any bad teams anymore. It got really old carrying them on my back.
Our first three games in our schedule looks really difficult. We have the Bulls, then San Antonio, and finally OKC. If we win 2 out of those 3, I'll be very happy.
Bulls Game: 92-91 [Lost]
I have no idea how we lost. I was subbed out in the last 5 minutes of the fourth where we were up by 5, and when I simmed it, we lost.
Minutes:16
Points:18
Rebounds:7
Assists:2
Steals:3
Blocks:1
Highlight: A chase down block on Derrick Rose (he was going up for a dunk)
My field Goal percentage was trash. A measly 36% with 9/20 shooting. Most of it was because I couldn't finish hardly any layups, despite it being a solid 70. I plan on using my skill points to upgrade it so I can be a better finisher at the rim.
Spurs Game: 95-90 [Lost]
Minutes:16
Points:10
Rebounds:1
Assists:3
Steals:1
Highlight:A Three-Pointer two-three feet past the arc.
Just a disappointing lost overall. I had no minutes in the 4th and we just couldn't win. My shots, again, weren't just falling. My Field Goal percentage was horrible, hitting only 4 shots on maybe 12-15 attempts. Next up is OKC. God help us....
OKC Game:101-91 [Lost]
Minutes:19
Points:31
Rebounds:2
Assists:2
Steals:1
Blocks:1
Highlight:Scored 20 points in the last six and a half minutes of the 1st quarter.
Don't let my points fool you, half of them came from the FT line, where I shot 100%. I had a horrible FG% again, shooting 9/25. But, the thing is, every time I'm subbed in, it's like my teammates just want to stand there and do nothing. I try to move around and generate some assists but, again, their positioning is always horrible. But, thankfully, this was the last tough game, and it's a lot easier from here on out. It is possible for us to win our next 5 games since we're up against teams who are under .500.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
i have a 6'10" athletic SF, got his mid-range to 85 3pt to 86 and free throw to 99 and it's dominant, also got sizeup to great(easier to get into the paint), dribble pull-up to good and post fadeaway to good for a go to shotComment
