Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Why is there a huge difference in myplayer compared to say quick play or franchise? I see way more no look passes, double teams, zone usage, etc.

Pretty mad i slept on this mode for so long. I got drafted by charlotte im about 10 games in. Hoping to retire here. :O

Other than MyPlayer; I play Quick Mode w/my hometown Sixers, but, ....

MyPlayer mode is more "manual/controller" oriented for alot of the advanced moves and animations.

Passing: the higher the player "Pass" rating is the more likely he is to perform a "fancy" pass.
Zone: Only the PG can change the defensive set; Controller based: (directional pad on PS3).

Double teams: Is controller based; on PS3 it's the L1, the player icons will appear or if you hold it another player will "auto" come to your aid. Occasionally the AI will perform a double team on its own if the other player has a high defensive awareness rating.

Nice little story; how do you plan to make the jump to MyPlayer (no college version) so we can see how the story progresses at the NBA level? I am a Philly boy; you will be right at home @ Villanova!

          PG/ATH/Jazz/Rookie/OVR: 82

48-26 Utah Jazz vs. 38-35 Houston Rockets

The Jazz escaped with a win 117-114 in OT. This was the first OT game I have had in quite a while I was glad to escape with the W.

The biggest moment of this game was when my team was trailing 107-105 with 28.6 iirc seconds left we played defense forced a missed 3 I was running got the ball with about 3 secs left got into the paint and got up a fairly contested shot that fell through as time expired forcing OT after that knowing I wouldn't get subbed out I know I just had to take over and keep us in the game.

I want to tell anyone who hasn't had the joy to play with Al Jefferson that he is a beast. I will post both of our stat lines as we had to keep the team afloat to get away with the W. I will also post K-Mart's line as he was the hardest guy to deal with hands down.

          Stat Line:
          Kevin Martin: 44 Min 38 Pts 11 Reb 3 Ast 1 Stl 1 Blk 3 T.O. 15-25 FG 5-10 3pt 3-4 FT

He was hot from 3 as he hit 5 of the Rocket's 8 3s I really hope we miss them come playoff time.

          Stat Line:
          Al Jefferson: 44 Min 35 Pts 12 Reb 1 Stl 1 Blk 1 T.O. 14-23 FG 7-7 FT

Jefferson going perfect from the line was such a clutch game from him if he didn't show up like that we wouldn't of been able to get to OT as he converted multiple "and 1s".

          P. Henderson(MP): 46 Min 37 Pts 9 Reb 23 Ast 10 Stl 2 Blk 7 T.O. 12-32 FG 13-14 FT

Well I was disappointed how i shot from the field, but was glad that I was able to get the game tying shot and ice the game with converted FTs. This was my 15th career Triple Double. I'd take away 5 from Diff level but it is what it is.

Ugh, so fked up you can't get higher than 6th pick. Everytime I get interviewed w/ Toronto Raptors, goes out great, then I get selected by Wizards who I didn't even have an interview with

Does hustle help with getting rebounds??
What else helps with getting more boards??

if I were you I would look up noah and howard's ratings since they are two of the better rebounders in the league. I think hustle would be vital, but not 100% sure.

Ugh, im on my phone so sorry for quoting all of it. I know the layout and stuff but i was just saying that my player is more polished than franchise. The passing mobes, cpu running zone and trapping. This doesnt happen in assoc.

I am pretty sure loose balls in 2k language roughly translates into 50-50 balls which means it should help with steals, rebounds, and a few other things that are escaping me atm.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I just got around the starting this and really enjoying it.

Tried creating myself as lifelike as possible and throughout all my life (mucking around), I played as a big because everyone was small so I did that here too. Just a shame 2k has restrictions on heights. I can understand it but going downwards I hoped they'd have that unlocked.

So because I couldn't be a 6'3" center or power forward, I am a small forward but play as I did. Defensive template and every skill point I get is used in blocking and both rebounding areas. It was how I played.

It's tough that's for sure but fun and a real challenge. I'm 17 games in now and just became a starter for the Rockets at SF. I'm averaging about 26 minutes a game, 6.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks shooting 41% from the field. I get blocked a lot of the time inside after grabbing a rebound because I'm small so I need to learn to kick it out and reset.

My best game so far is a 19 point, 11 rebound, 3 assist, 3 block game.

It's tough but a fun challenge and I don't waver from putting points into my guy as per the plan. Everything goes into blocking and rebounding and then hustle, etc. I was never an offensive player. Most points came from put backs and receives from the PG so I try to play that way. Defend and crash the boards on both ends at every opportunity.

Had back to backs against the Thunder and Heat and man it's tough trying to play on LeBron and Durant. They both burnt the hell out of me but I did have that best game above against the Heat. Mainly because Mario Chalmers was guarding me instead of LeBron.

What's the best way to improve your defensive strafe because I find it tough at times to stay in front of even average players. It's like they go right through me. A gripe too, I hate when I get caught in a post up animation and get called for three seconds and also hate trying to run the play likes and the opposing player keeps bumping me. Even when I'm in front I get sucked back into a bump.

I'm playing the clipper's again and up 31-17 with 10:32 left in the 2nd. I just don't think this team can match-up with my Utah Jazz because H-town was a much harder game than this up to this point.

Interesting decision you made, for the bottom of your post I was pretty sure Def. Awareness helped with that also maybe On-Ball D for your SF since your going to be a D specialist anyway.

Why is it that my 3pt Specialist is not only a 3pt specialist, but a Defensive specialist? (defensive bar is 99 in roster menu)
