49-26 Utah Jazz vs. 50-24 LA Clippers (1st in west by 1.5 games)
Well I posted a quick post of the game earlier and the game really didn't change much as they never caught up and my team played as good as I have seen from a total team perspective. I will go over a few key stats for the game later in the post.
The final score was 114-92 Utah Jazz.
We out shot them from the field going 43/72 (59%) while they went 37/75 (49%) and the reason will be answered by another key stat.
They shot fairly well from 3 though 7/20 (35%) while we shot 1/3 (33%). This was one of the biggest reasons to the above question if only 3 out of my teams 72 shots were behind the arc that meant I was hitting from inside a lot more than them because about 26% of there offensive shots were from behind the arc compared to our 4%.
The FTs were what won Utah the game as we attacked inside and were rewarded by getting fouled a lot and getting to the line 36 times where we shot 27/36 (75%) and while the Clippers shot a higher percentage 11/14 (78%) isn't going to close the gap enough.
The biggest point of the game to me was outscoring them 70-44 inside the paint which is my teams number 1 goal. I as a PG want to get my team easy shots and no easier way to get my bigs involved then to get them down in the lane and even if they miss I will walk away from the possession happy that I gave him the best look possible while forcing the other team to respect our inside presence which opens up the court for our other shooters and My Jump shot.
My Stat Line:
41 Min 28 Pts 3 Reb 26 Ast 10 Stl 7 T.O. 8-16 FG 12-13 FT
I earned my 16th career triple double and 500th assist this game. I want to mention while I led my team in scoring it was only because the coach rested Jefferson and Millsap playing 29 and 31 min respectfully. The next 5 scoring leaders on our team were all players benefiting from the P&R.
Jefferson - 22 Pts
Millsap - 21 Pts
Howard - 14 Pts (I really like Howard on P&Rs he is really aggressive getting to the bucket after he gets the ball on the roll.
Derrick Favors - 10 Pts
Enes Kanter - 8 Pts
After this game I am trailing LAC and OKC by a half a game for 1st in the west.
