Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Hey guys just started my player with the new rookies on the roster. My guy is a face up power forward. 6'10" from Yugoslavia and his name is Dmitri Petrovic. Just finished up my rookie showcase with 19 pts, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. I'm really liking the post system this year, so many options to work down low.

Got interviewed by Golden State, Charolette and Utah (basically told them I didn't want to play for them). And I got drafted by....Charolette. Don't know if I am going to request a trade or not.

I see a lot of people are playing as guards. Any other big men out there? Anyone else find it easier to get higher teammate grades as a big man?

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

What up everyone I've been quite about posting things on forums and things...but I feel as if I need to share a few things with you guys! forgive me if I repeated any thing in this post!

first of all why the hell did 2k put those ugly no name jordans on the game?? don't like them?? go to codes and type 23 to unlock all the jordans..in order to use them in my player mode u have to start all over

for those who need help with my player mode all i can say is PLAY REAL BASKETBALL...this game is getting realistic every year so put some thought in it next time your chunkin up 3's and wondering y your missing!!

need help getting speed on dribble course? max out duribility and dribble off hands first to limit your chances on other attributes and raise the chances of you gettting speed...i tried it and got my man speed from 77-85 within 6 tries

wanna posterize ppl in the paint??? my sf has a 90 dunk 90 vert 85 spd and 80 quickness...i only have j r smith dunk package right now but i still get some in game contact dunks!!! also don't use any specialty dunks they take away from your signature dunks!!

in 2k11 one thing i did to get more skill points was i edited the rosters first...in order for a key game last year if you faced someone in the same position with a 89 ovl or better it was considered a key game. so i raised more than have of my opposing position rating over 90 to get over 50 key games and a 99ovl before my first season...

i've been having problems getting A+ this year but i recently notice double teams on defense gets you a lot of points and also blocking shots!

I'm playing as a 7'1'' center, it's a lot more fun and challenging than playing a guard in my opinion. And yes, I do find that it is easy to rack up A+ rankings playing a big man. Even if you don't have a good game, if you box out your man, set screens and rebound you are guaranteed at least an A ranking.

I had a 52pt 11reb 4ast 2blk coming out party in my last game and I'm on a streak of at least 32pts for the last 6 games. I've noticed that my teammates look for me more in the post than they did in the beginning, I practically touch the ball every time down the court in some facet. In the beginning I had to pretty much beg for the ball in the post for them to pass it to me so it's cool to see that progression as the season goes on.

wow the trading is way outta hand now. The knicks team i play for ran through more stars than a kardashian's, from amare, garnett, eric gordan, granger, melo.

Im a boss this year!My 3 pt rating is 93 and I just bought a sick, cheap dunk package called Flight White to elevate my game.My record is 5 3s in a quarter. My recommendations:Make a 3 pt specialist guard so your three rating starts at atleast 82.Buy Flight White for 500K it has sick dunks!

Started a new MyPlayer last night, named him Justin Robertson(lol was thinking Big O last night) and he's a 6'7 235 pound PG. in the showcase I got 36 points on 20 attempts. I abused my height and strength against the opposing PG's and even SG's. Also got 2 assists, 2 blocks, 3 steals and 4/4 free throws. Rose my draft stock higher than previous PG I made. Got interviewed by the Bobcats lol I told em I don't want em to draft me. Then they asked me did it matter if I was a lottery pick, I told them it didn't matter as long as I got my chance at the NBA. Then the bucks imo best situation since BJ isn't that consistent I told them right off the bat to trade BJ as he has trade value if they draft me. And how I would love playing as a buck my whole career. Then the warriors, told them I wouldn't fit and don't wanna play with them and their style of player with their overload of guards.

Before I go to much into this, I wanna make it clear this was only one game.

I have been having an extremely tough time finishing at the rim with my PG. I've had 99 layup and 75 dunk for about a season and my man just blows the shot or it gets blocked. I used a bunch of points saved up and raised my strength from the minimum of 40 up to 70. Needless to say my next game against the Celts, dropped 98 on them with 78% shooting from the field. Rarely did I miss an easy layup, powered about 5 dunks on KG and finished about 10 And-Ones on Rondo/Bayless. Like I said, not sure if there is a direct correlation but man I noticed a difference.

Yes it seems that Strength as well as the Dunk/Layup rating effect how well your contact shots go up. I suggest try taking a player and edit his Dunk and Layup rating to 99 with 25 strength then compare the results with 99 Strength and you should notice a definite difference.

I think I will run some tests as such. I did notice that additional Dunk/Layup animations that I have not seen before were used with the additional strength.

*Ran a few tests with Blake Griffin. With his strength completely lowered Blake would not trigger some of his normal dunk animations in freestyle practice. Have yet to test this in game yet but can notice a difference in what animations are triggered etc.*

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Height matters a ton. Thanks to all the undersized shooting guards/combo guards at the 2 in the current NBA these days, it doesn't matter if my 6-7 SG is covered because I elevate higher than the defender. It's really unfair and kind of cheap, tbh. Although that's the advantage of being taller in real life anyway.

I haven't played today, but I finally reached the all-star game last night. My rookie got the 11th roster spot. 9 points, 2 assists, and a rebound. Played like 4 minutes and the East won. I was surprised I even made it.

My team's winning streak stopped at 17 to the Grizzlies, two games before the allstar break. Kind of a back and fourth affair, but can't really separate from them. Always felt like a victory, even when we were down in the game.

I'll preface by saying, ever since we traded Jrue, coincidentally to the Grizzlies for Mayo and Arthur, the game starts Mayo/My Player/George/Lee/Bogut, but finishes with Daniels/Mayo/My Player/George/Lee. I HATE that lineup. I don't like playing SF because that makes me the inbounder and takes away my size advantage, and I ****ing hate playing with David Lee.

Anyway, we're down 6 and my guy drains a couple 3's to take a two point lead. Jrue ties the game with 3 seconds left. I'm the inbounder so I never get the ball back to try and win it and Mayo misses the winner.

Goes to OT and we lose by 3, I nailed a buzzer beater to cut it from 5 to 3 so it wasn't that close.

I swear I would have made that game winner. The 3 I made on the previous possession to take the lead by 2 was heavily contested and my dude was feeling it. Damn you Mayo, Daniels, and management for trading Jrue. Damn you to hell.

Btw, I saw those complaining about not getting post players in the absurdity that is cpu trading. Well my team has absolutely no guard depth. 1 PG and 2 shooting guards on the roster. We so happen to start the 2 shooting guards. That's counting George as a SF, since he starts there. 3 SGs and they all start sounds worse, I guess. You can go with that.

We(Houston) traded for Big Baby and J.Green.
                          Current Lineup:
                          RG-Lowry
                          SG-Stuckey
                          SF-ME
                          PF-Green
                          C-Big Baby

I am just glad to have Devin Harris off team. Besides Harris, I am not sure who was traded. But, I know I have a different roster than last year. But, I think Lowry might be next to go. We have a week before All Star. 25-25

I recently requested a trade from the "revamped jazz" to the atlanta hawks...atl was one of the few teams with the same current rosters after my second year.
                            Lineup
                            J Crawford
                            J Johnson
                            ME
                            J Sanders
                            Al Hardford

The hawks were #1 in their division and #2 in the east when i joined the team...now we are 1-6 since i've been on the team!!! WTF 3 players over 80 on the starting line up and the only win we get is against golden state?? My numbers for the team were the best i ever had...i was making 3's hitting all kinds contact dunks, great defense but the team overall is doing bad!! We run decent plays on offense but defense we give up so many threes...most games we lost were under 10 points...i had to downgrade from superstar/sim to all star/sim and i was still losing games...one question i have is what setting do yall use?? i refuse to use pro because i've gone almost 2 months without losing a game. and do yall run plays or freestyle??

Oddly enough, my team (Washington) is like the only team that's made any trades so far, and they've made a lot of them.

In the 2nd season, the team is now:

PG: Brandon Jennings (Washington traded Wall for my player and Jennings)
                              SG: Shannon Brown
                              SF: Chris Douglas-Roberts
                              PF: Boomer Schultz (my player)
                              C: Tyrus Thomas

                              Bench:
                              Paul Millsap
Ryan Young (#6 overall pick that they acquired from Boston), he's a SG
                              Big Baby Davis
                              Eric Bledsoe
                              Terricho White

So I have a pretty decent mix of talent with the exception of the center position, but Thomas, myself, and Big Baby man that position throughout the game.

I like the addition of Big Baby and Green. Adds defensive presence in the frontcourt. Even though we dont have a guy over 6'11, I like our front court and big man rotation. We have Green, Davis, Ilyasova, Monroe, White(former bobcat), and Turkoglu. We have guys that can shoot around the basket and pull down rebounds. Some of them can shoot 3s. Once Kemba Walker gets healthy we might have a good squad. But Stuckey is similar to Devin Harris, A combo guard who NEEDS the ball in their hands. he will take my plays away from me and other players to drive to bucket.
