Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
We lost our final game that we shouldve won. We were down 12 in 3rd and came back to tie. Then they pulled away late by 10 because my teammates got cold and I slacked off on defense. I actually shot great. I went 6-6, but I missed 4 FTs.
We still made the playoffs though, just slid to #8. We face Thunder. To be honest, I dont think we have a chance. I made All-rookie Team. I won Rookie of Month twice. I avged 9.5 pts, 5.7 rebs, 1.1 blocks. I got Shot Inside and Close to 90. Then I will work on Off Rebound then Dunk.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
My player would be soooooooo much more fun if 2K had put some effort in it. How difficult can it be to put in more hairstyles, tattoos, beards, body types, arm/leg length and more good stuff like that? It's like 4 hairstyles you can actually use.. You can be 170 lbs or 350.. Doesnt matter! You look almost the same anyway.
I hope and pray for a more detailed MP next year cause im not impressed.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
We lost 1st round against OKC 4-1. Couldnt match up with their overall athleticism. Kidd Retired(yes), We let go of Delonte(yes), Carter signed with someone else(he was good). We signed Gilbert Arenas, Ishmael Smith, and Asik. We have better size at frontcourt and more speed at backcourt.
Unlike my other MPs, I dont plan asking for trades.Comment

But I gotta say, this My Player mode is head and shoulders above anything EA has put together recently.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I have 6 key games in the next 8 games. I am closing in on 500 rebounds(53), 100 Blocks(11 away), and 100 assists(14 away). If I average 10+ rebs, 2+ blocks, and 2.5+ assists in my next 5 games, I can get them all in the a key game. We face Spurs twice, NY, LAL, Clippers, and POR. We are 3-1. We blew out Suns in iour 1st game. They have a different lineup. They have CP3 and thats it. I had 29 pts, 13 rebs, 1 assists, 2 blocks. Even though I had 29 and over 50%, I need to work on getting better shots. My points come from dunks and free throws. After I am done with Off Reb and Dunk, I will work on Shot Low Post and Shot Med. I got Off Reb to 81 and will stop at 90. I will work on Dunk till 80. If I can get those milestones, I can get my ratings up faster with all those XP.
I am averaging 15.5 pts, 9.5 rebs, and 2 blocks per game. My Off grade is 73, def grade is 79, and reb is 99. I can get my def grade up high, if I boost Def Low Post and Def Awareness.
I have to add a jumpshot to my game, but if I do that I will have to boost consistency with it.Since I have 3 milestones that I can get in a few key games coming up, I can get around 18000+ skill points including XP from games if I can get them all in one or 2 games. I might not be able to get them until my 5th game(mostly likely 5/6th game). I think I can get Off Rebound to 90 after my 2nd key game of my 6 key games coming up. So, the 2-4 key games before potential big XP game. I will will focus on Dunk in those games, then shot low post. I am not trying to boost Shot Med yet until I am ready to boost that and consistency together(need to develop a jumpshot in my game). If I can get those big milestones in my 4-6th key game and get around possible 20K XP, I will work on a few abilities. I will try to get both Post Spin and Post Hook to Good, so I can attempt them more.
So in my next 5 key games, I will have to focus on getting rebounds, assists and blocks. Blocks and rebounds isnt a big concern because it is mostly getting into position and timing for both. Assists is something I think I can do. In games I play, I avg around assists a game. Since we have guys like Dirk, Marion, Arenas who can finish around the basket and shoot to a degree, it is possible.
So, my goal is to avg around 18+ pts, 10+ rebs, 3+ assists, and 2+ blocks in my next 5 games to get those milestones. The hardest part maybe the rebounds, since all of the teams I face has great frontcourts and Dirk and Marion steals rebs from me. At least Kidd is gone, because he took rebs from me.Last edited by illwill10; 02-09-2012, 03:03 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Center/Bucks/Rookie/45 games - Fortunately for us we have not found new ways to lose as we keep pace w 21 consecutive losses. Plagued by injuries and poor offense, we soldier on hoping to selfishly achieve the Overall rank of 75 on All Star Difficulty.
I have managed to keep my sanity by changing my hair style and "pimping" & non-pimping my shoes. 3rd in NBA in blocks w (2.3) per game. Still not an offensive threat although recently he has posted 2 DBL-DBLs.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
this forum has helped me realize I'm not the only one screaming at the tv when my AI teammates mess up lol. Are you guys on 5 minute quarters? I'm a shooting PG, on the rockets, started before all the big trades in the NBA.
I've had to play around with the shooting release combos to find one that I could time right, but I've found that when driving to basket and hitting the move that make you dribble backwards (as to create space) really works well for me. my ft and defense suck though.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
any where from 40-60 minutes to complete a game if your a starter. sure you may not be able to play multiple games in one session. but still i like it a lot better than 5 minutes since im a big NBA fan in real life, so i like having realistic scores and realistic stat linesComment

And so I can get milestones quicker
That is why I only play key games.Last edited by illwill10; 02-09-2012, 10:15 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
We played the Celtics and, as usual, lost. I had 5 turnovers (3 in the first quarter) and fouled out with like a minute thirty left in the game. The only upside is I had 3 blocks, 2 on Rondo, 1 on Ray Allen; And I have to say, 2K must have been high when developing this game; Out of like the 10 medium-ranged jumpers Rondo took, he made either 8 or 9, most contested. Rondo CANNOT shoot to save his life in real life and I would purposely double team and leave him open but I didn't expect him to hit all those, in fact 2 or 3 at most would be realistic.
I play on 12 minute quarters as well, hall of fame simGT: assassinK24Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
They need to add goggles next year, Kareem style, and glasses like Rambis.
I have a problem. I started with an athletic SF, 6'8 220 pounds. My idea was to start with a player who could drive and do cool layups and sick dunks, and develop my jumper as I go. It's working, but when I sim games(which is a lot, I'm only 20 some odd games in so I'm not a starter yet) my player shoots threes. My three pointer is 47... this isn't like an 0-2 here, an 0-1 there. He's going 0-6 some games. My field goal is down to something like 29%, and my three is only 8%.
Is there anyway I can stop MP from being such a chucker?Comment
