Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

As i said in my last post, it was going to be an important offseason, and it was. I accepted Paul George's qualifying offer or whatever, which was $4.74. He is probably going to test FA anyway, but maybe we can make a run at a ring this year, and still have a chance at signing him.

in the 2013 draft, i traded dalembert and someone else for the suns 2013 2nd rounder(waiters, who is progressing very well, now at a 74 with **1/2) and their 2014 first. that 2014 first-rounder ended up being the #3 pick. During the draft I was targeting a great scoring shooting guard, with A inside, and A- ouside. The first pick was some center, and i did not think the SG was going to fall back another pick, so i traded for the 2nd pick. Here's the trade:

    I give: Len Torres (69 with ***1/2), and #3 pick (***)
Spurs give: Dejuan Blair( 81 with ***), #2 pick (***1/2)

I'd say that is pretty fair for both teams. With the 2nd pick, i took that SG and he was rated 83 with (***1/2) I used potential training camp to make him (****)

In FA, i resigned David West to come off the bench, and signed asik. I had an overflow of Sg's(4) so i traded Dion Waiters (**1/2) and Asik for Mahinmi(**) and 2 2nd rounders.
    So here is my rotation:

    Rondo (33), Hill (16)
George(31), Rookie(25), Young(traded John Jenkins for him last year, some 2nd round draftee)(2)
    Chandler(31), T. Williams(15)
    Blair(31), West(10),
    Hibbert(31), Mahinmi(12), Festus Ezeli(4)

    Thoughts?

I am going to restart my Rockets association with the updated rosters. When I started my original one I use the out of box rosters and it was during the lockout. I hope I can succeeded with this team and I will keep everyone updated with this association.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Accidentally over-rode my Warriors Association with my Heat Association. I had to restart the Warriors, but made almost the exact same trades to get my roster:

        Stephen Curry
        Monta Ellis
        Gerald Green
        Antawn Jamison
        Andrew Bogut

This time, I loaded up on draft picks I thought would be in the lottery; acquired the Cavs and Bucks picks, which turned into picks 2 and 11. On draft day, I traded:

Warriors Trade: Greg Oden (SMOY Winner)
T-Wolves Trade: #7 Pick, Darko Milicic

I drafted: Anthony Davis (Ppick 2), Jared Sullinger (Pick 7), Jeremy Lamb (Pick 11)

We finished as the 8 seed, but lost in R1 to the Thunder. Steph Curry made the All-Star Game as the Sixth Man. Greg Oden wins Sixth Man of the Year.

        ===
I won't be trying much in FA, because the important thing is re-signing Steph and Monta to our team. Roster pre-FA:

        Stephen Curry/Will Bynum
        Monta Ellis/Jeremy Lamb
        Gerald Wallace/Antawn Jamison
        Anthony Davis/Jared Sullinger
        Andrew Bogut/Darko Milicic

I don't know what I'll do with Davis/Sullinger/Bogut...I'm keeping Davis for sure, but what deals can I get? Not sure who to keep...Jared Sullinger or Andrew Bogut?

With my Rockets association I am going to play the GM role. I will make all trades, signings, hire/firings. I will sim or watch the games. My goal is to make this team a contender in the West and in the league. I will make this as realistic as possible.

Our first game of the season was against Utah Jazz in Utah. It was a close game but the Jazz pull thru with the win. Final score was 65-62. The Rockets only scored 7 points in the 3rd. And the Jazz took advantage of that.

Luis Scola lead the with 24 points. And rookie SF Chandler Parsons lead the team with 8 rebounds. Kyle Lowry had a team high 8 assist. Our next game is against Sacramento Kings in Sacramento.

            NBA news:
Greg Oden sign with Philly for 1yr for $5.76 million. Sacramento sign Terrence Williams to a 3yr deal for $15.22 million

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Andrew Bogut is stinking it up in my Warriors Association (12-13). Perhaps all his injuries in-game are affecting him, but he's averaging 6.1 PPG and 8.7 RPG on 32 MPG. I really need to trade him now, as Sullinger and Davis, who I selected with my picks acquired from Lee and Oden trades, are out-perfoming Bogut by double in PPG and 1.5x in RPG. I'm trying to build around these two for the future, and Bogut's trade value is plummeting.

It's not a problem yet, because we're 30-16 so far (3rd in West; 1st in Pacific) but I'm trying to acquire a pick for the '14 draft, and I need to draft a SF who can start over Gerald Wallace (12.2 PPG/6.8 RPG) who's declining but still a great defender for us. What would be a good deal? I'm looking for an:

              -Starting SF
              -Front-court Bench
              -Back-up PG

In order of significance. Current Roster FYI:

              Stephen Curry/Will Bynum
              Monta Ellis/Jeremy Lamb
              Gerald Wallace/Antawn Jamison
              Jared Sullinger/Andrew Bogut
              Anthony Davis/Darko Milicic

                ATTENTION EVERYONE
I made a new roster update for Association mode. This is my first roster creation that I'm actually uploading because I feel as if it's realistic and better than 2k's system. The update is titled "Roster 5/19/12 by TC28" check it out for yourself. I tweaked potential on players who 2k had turning into stars when they most likely never will be, such as Johnny Flynn and Greg Oden, as well as overalls. Go download it.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

After we were swept as the 2 seed by OKC in the playoffs WCF (I always simulate first two years completely; always sim regular season) we made a trade for a lottery pick in the '13 class:

Warriors Trade: Andrew Bogut, '13 1st Round Pick
Knicks Trade: Tyson Chandler, '13 1st Round Pick

A lucky bounce in the lottery, and we received the 3rd pick. I traded down with Washington for the 4th pick, and Shabazz Muhammed fell into our laps. In the '13-14 season, he's the front-runner for ROY, and is averaging a solid 13/4/5 this season. Picked up Tony Mitchell (how did he go undrafted?) as a FA. Made Rookie-Sophomores Game.

Monta Ellis got injured in the playoffs vs. OKC with a Torn ACL, and was out 8-10 months(!) Lucky because I forgot (!) to resign him last season. Got a chance and pounced on it, signing him for 6yrs/$107M. Well-deserved for the All-Star. Steph Curry and Anthony Davis (Traded Lee + '12 1st Round + '12 2nd Round for Jamison + '12 1st Round Pick).

After Anthony Davis becoming a second-year All-Star, and Jared Sullinger (traded picks + Greg Oden for No. 5 pick) both are leaning back and forth for FA. I'm upgrading Davis' role to Star on the team, but what can convince them to stay? Amazing that we are the 3 seed, simmed w/o Ellis for this season, and if Davis and Sullinger stay, we're going to be a huge threat for the title...how can I convince them to stay? Sullinger's morale is 100 and Davis' is also 100 with the boost to 'Star' status. Roster:

                  Stephen Curry (36)
                  Jeremy Lamb (24)/Kris Joseph (4)/Jake Robinson (1)
                  Gerald Wallace (30)/Shabazz Muhammed (28)/Tony Mitchell (18)
                  Jared Sullinger (30)
                  Anthony Davis (340/Tyson Chandler (28)/Darko Milicic (2)/Drew Cook (1)

Help on keeping Davis + Sullinger?

I think in FA, I'll have to throw everything at Davis: 6-year contract, Star Role, around $95M+. Already an All-Star in his second season averaging 14/10 on 52% shooting; 2.2 BPG. So much range, and he's going to be amazing for us. I can deal with losing Sullinger, but I have to keep Davis.

NvM, Davis and Sullinger both have team optins. They both Accepted. Interesting in South Beach as LeBron enteres FA but and D Wade chooses to stay. We lose in 7 in the Western Conference Finals to the Thunder. Thunder win championship vs. the Bobcats (Kemba-87 OVR in 13-14 season!)

In the draft, I trade our pick No. 26 and Tyson Chandler for Mo Williams and Pick 10. Mo is in his decline at only 76 OVR. Freed cap to sign Davis, cleared logiam in front court and gave us PG depth/

EDIT: Just drafted PG Quinn Cook with the Clippers pick. Looking to trade Mo Williams.

Traded Mo Williams (upset with role) for picks to draft Michael Carter-Williams and Sim Bhullar. Bhullar is a man-child and averages a double-double in under 30 MPG! Sullinger will be testing FA, but after clearing cap and signing many young talents and rookies, I think I'll have the best deal for him lined up. Steph Curry makes the All_Star team for the 4th time in a row (2012-16) and Anthony Davis made two straight All-NBA Defensive Teams, and a DPOY last season.

We make the playoffs as the 4 seed, and I will be playing every playoff game here on out. Looking to trade Gerald Wallace at season's end, and happy I picked up the pick to draft Shabazz Muhammed after giving up Andrew Bogut. Shabazz averages 15 PPG on only 24 MPG; giving him a starting role, and he's going to be a monster. Happy I picked Quinn Cook as the 22nd pick in last year's draft; Roster:

                      Stephen Curry (90 OVR)/Quinn Cook (79)
                      Monta Ellis (85)/Michael Carter-Williams (68)
                      Shabazz Muhammed (77)/Gerald Wallace (77)/Tony Mitchell (68)
                      Jared Sullinger (78)
                      Anthony Davis (83)/Sim Bhullar (72)

Happy with the way things worked out, after trading Lee, Bogut, Oden, Klay Thompson, my '12-13 1st and 2nd Rounders and others for draft picks, which turned into Shabazz Muhammed, Anthony Davis, Jared Sullinger, Sim Bhullar, Quin Cook and Michael Carter-Williams. Cool to hear how at the start of the pres-season the commentators were talking about my team's huge potential and the young core. We only have one player over 28 y/o (Wallace).

'15-16 season for my Warriors. We beat the Nuggets in 6 games. I simmed 4 in which we went 2-2, but the other two I played (Game 5/6) I just blew out the CPU. Interesting. Played on Superstar Difficulty.

We're matched up against the Hornets, the 1 seed (!) with MVP Brandon Jennings. We're doing well in the first game, and shutting down the stars, and getting Gordon into foul trouble is working for us right now. We don't have to worry about anyone else. (Mi. Plumlee, Ariza) We would play either the T-Wolves, or the Kobe-less Lakers (retired).

I have a problem with my front-court. I have three guys in their 4th seasons; Royce White, Jared Sullinger and Anthony Davis. They're all RFAs this year, and I am going to have the cap to sign at least two of them (going to trade Gerald Wallace; Shabazz Muhammed at SF). Not sure whether to keep Royce White or Jared Sullinger. White can play the 3 or 4, but I already have that in Davis (can play 3/4/5). I'm not sure who I should keep...suggestions?

I'm going to have to let one go, because having their and Wallace's contracts off the books is $24M. Davis will command big money, already an All-Star, All-Defensive Team, All-Rookie First Team, and DPOY in 4 seasons. Sullinger won SMOY in his rookie year, and can turn into something great. White has huge potential as a 15/8 guy in the NBA.

Now with 4-1 standing. Thinking of trading rw as we are too strong already and kd is now 98 while rw is 93. Hmmm

Just beat the #1 seed Grizzlies in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals as the Nuggets of 2014 with McGee out for the playoffs unless this series goes to game 7 and I win he should be back for the finals.
