As i said in my last post, it was going to be an important offseason, and it was. I accepted Paul George's qualifying offer or whatever, which was $4.74. He is probably going to test FA anyway, but maybe we can make a run at a ring this year, and still have a chance at signing him.
in the 2013 draft, i traded dalembert and someone else for the suns 2013 2nd rounder(waiters, who is progressing very well, now at a 74 with **1/2) and their 2014 first. that 2014 first-rounder ended up being the #3 pick. During the draft I was targeting a great scoring shooting guard, with A inside, and A- ouside. The first pick was some center, and i did not think the SG was going to fall back another pick, so i traded for the 2nd pick. Here's the trade:
I give: Len Torres (69 with ***1/2), and #3 pick (***)
Spurs give: Dejuan Blair( 81 with ***), #2 pick (***1/2)
I'd say that is pretty fair for both teams. With the 2nd pick, i took that SG and he was rated 83 with (***1/2) I used potential training camp to make him (****)
In FA, i resigned David West to come off the bench, and signed asik. I had an overflow of Sg's(4) so i traded Dion Waiters (**1/2) and Asik for Mahinmi(**) and 2 2nd rounders.
So here is my rotation:
Rondo (33), Hill (16)
George(31), Rookie(25), Young(traded John Jenkins for him last year, some 2nd round draftee)(2)
Chandler(31), T. Williams(15)
Blair(31), West(10),
Hibbert(31), Mahinmi(12), Festus Ezeli(4)
