    My roster:
PG Jonny Flynn (will leave tomorrow via trade)
    SG Jamal Crawford
    SF Nicolas Batum
    PF LaMarcus Aldridge
    C Greg Oden
    6 J.J Hickson PF
    7 Wes Matthews SG
    8 Raymond Felton PG
    9 Omer Asik C
    10 Brian Scalabrine PF
    11 Joel Pryzbilla C
    12 Nolan Smith PG

    Trades :

OKC (user) Gives Kendrick Perkins to Bulls (user) for Joakim Noah

When they finalized this trade, I could have sat in a corner and cried.
SO you're telling me that I have to play Durantula, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, AND Joakim Noah FOUR times a year?

Portland Gives Flynn and a '13 1st round pick for Suns Josh Childress

I needed a backup SF so I don't have to move Scal up to the 3 spot
That trade was horrible for you. You gave up a young pg with good potential, plus a 1st rounder on a bad team for an awful sf with a bloated contract. i don't care if you needed a sf, go to FA or don't give up that much!

I understand where you're coming from. Now that I look at it, it seems like a mistake.

I do disagree with you on the pick. Our team is getting better, and I think the pick wouldn't have given us much.

Portland is 8-2, with one of those losses coming to a network disconnection.

      ANOTHER important trade :

OKC (user) gives James Harden to the Spurs for Manu Ginobili

Can you give me your opinion on this one? I honestly don't know what to think of it. It takes Harden out of the mix, but it gives my division rival a great shooter. He is 34 years old, however, and in turn will make his career decline faster.

If you plan on playing this association for a few years, then the impact won't be so bad, because Manu at 34 will probably retire in a season or 2. It does make the Spurs a lot more versatile.

I plan on playing this association for a few years, so that's some good news.

On a completely unrelated note, we gained a new player for our Association.

          So now it's :

          League Owner/Admin : Thunder
          Other friend : Bulls
          Myself : Trailblazers
          Newbie : Heat

Well its good for you because now you do not have to face harden with all the amazing thunder players, but i don't know why the Thunder guy would do this. I agree with the other guy who says if you play for a few years, it doesn't hurt that bad. i believe currently ginobili is rated higher, but in 2 years he won't be.

Also, with the perkins for noah trade, why did the bulls do that?

The Spurs are controlled by the CPU, so I want to know what 2K was smoking when they came up with the CPU trade "logic".

The Bulls are a user-controlled team. My friend claims that Joakim Noah can't rebound as well as Perkins, and that he didn't use Noah much in the first place. But I am still struggling to believe that anyone on God's green earth would even consider doing that trade...

The league is going crazy with trades. The league owner (Thunder) put Thabo Sefolosha on the trading block and our newest member (Heat) is going after him in exchange for Mike Miller.

It's been a wacky ride so far, and I'm looking forward to playing the rest of it.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

'12-'13 season for my Superstar Difficulty Warriors Association. Steph and Monta both make the All-Star Game, and we've qualified for the playoffs in game 60-something. I'm not simming the last two games, because I want to get as high a seed as possible, and win the divisional title; we're tied with LAL so far. Signed Monta and Curry for HUGE contracts, but they're long contracts:

                Steph Curry: 7 yrs/$108M
                Monta: 6 yrs/$110M

Major trade we did in the Draft; Our 5th Pick and Nate Robinson for the 2nd Pick, which I chose Anthony Davis with.

Than, I traded David Lee and Alonzo Gee for Nene and the Wiz 1st Rounder. They're stinking this season, and we're on the upswing now.

I can see the Noah for Perkins debate.
I'm not entirely sure as to the contracts, but I believe Perkins is cheaper per year. Secondly, His is a defensive stallwart, where as Noah is merely a hustle player. The Bulls guy was smart because they still have 7 ft Omer Asik. This guy has a lot more flexibility now. Offense - Boozer and Asik, Defense - Perkins and Taj Gibson.

I never really thought about that.
In retrospect, the trade does seem fair.

OKC(league commish) runs a fast offense. If they don't play defense very well, the Thunder can make up for it with the likes of Kevin Durant, Joakim Noah (trade), Manu Ginobili (trade), and Russell Westbrook.

My Bulls friend prefers a more defensive play style. If the offense stalls, the defense gets good stops and fights for the defensive rebounds. With Perkins coming in Chicago, the Bulls could become an even greater contender for the NBA Title. If Rose can stay healthy and run the offense, they'll be practically unstoppable.

See, the trades may seem dumb if they were realistic, BUT, the playstyles you described fit the trade perfectly. Noah fits the up-tempo style while giving size and critical offensive boards. Perk provides an even greater defensive presence, which suits the user.

As for myself, I prefer to shoot mid-range jumpers and three-pointers than lay-ups or close range shots. As soon as my opponent either plays tight defense on my long range shooters or double teams one of them, however, I hit Aldridge in the post for an easy two. Personally, I run a balanced team in Portland. Something about me just doesn't want to prioritize one side of the ball more than the other.

BTW dynamicswish, I saw on one of your earlier posts that you have Scalabrine as your 12th man

Pacers association going great! Currently we are 33-21, 3rd in the conference. Nothing really happened in the offseason, besides i picked up this guy named Len Torres PF because that is still my only hole. he has 3 1/2 stars.

For some odd reason, david west leads me in points with 15.8. we are like the sixers, and all the good players averages around the same area.

David West- PPG: 15.8, RPG: 4.7(disappointing)
Wilson Chandler- PPG: 14.4, RPG: 6.6, SPG: 1, BPG: 1.2
Paul George- PPG: 13.9, RPG: 5.9, SPG: 1.5
                            Hibbert- PPG: 13.3, RPG: 7.8, BPG: 1.4
Terrence Williams- PPG: 10.4, RPG: 3.1
Rajon Rondo- PPG: 9.6, APG: 9.8, RPG: 5, SPG: 2.5
George Hill- PPG: 9.3, APG: 2.5
                            Dion Waiters- PPG: 5.4

And the others are irrelevant. The point is, we are an all around great team, but after getting rondo's medium shot up to 80 between drills and training camp, i thought he would score more than 16 ppg.

We just played a crazy game against the heat, in which i actually played. 6 minute quarters, it went into 3 0T with us pulling it off 96-86!

George had 20, Hibbert had 17, Chandler and Rondo had 15. Waiters also had 10 in only 10 minutes. Rondo had an incredible 9 steals, not sure how he pulled that off.

I play a 1-3-1 Zone and it worked to perfection when we had a 22 point lead with 2 mins left in the 3rd. at the end of the 3rd, we were winning by 19 and the heat outscored us 26-7 in the 4th to tie it up, but in the 3OT George took over with a three, an and one, and a huge assist to hibbert leading to an and one.

I just simmed the season, and we swept the celtics in the 1st round, then got swept by the heat in the second round (unlike real life)

Just did the draft lottery, and last year during the draft i traded for the suns pick, and it ended up #3! This will be a big offseason because i need to decide who to get with my 3rd pick, and also i NEED to resign the all nba first teamer Paul George

Having a blast with my Warriors Association. 12-13 Season Review:

-Signed Monta Ellis, acquired in a trade involving Paul George, Dorell Wright, '12 2nd Round Pick to a 6yr/$110M contract

-Signed Steph Curry to a 7yr/$106M contract
-Signed Brendan Haywood to a 1yr/$480K contract
-Signed Gerald Wallace, acquired from trade with Klay Thompson, Richard Jefferson to a 4yr/$27M contract

Warriors Trade: David Lee, Alonzo Gee
Wizards Trade: Nene, '13 1st Round Pick (projected mid-1st Round)

DRAFT: Warriors Trade: '12 1st Round Pick (from Jazz), Nate Robinson
Hornets Trade: '12 1st Round Pick (2nd overall after lottery)

                              Warriors Draft: Anthony Davis (12.2 PPG/8.7 RPG/2.0 BPG/53 FG%/30 MPG

                              ===

Went to our best start yet, at 9-1. Monta and Steph were rolling to their 1st and 2nd All-Star appearances, respectively, as the 6th and 7th man on the roster. We would cruise until the period before player re-signing. I let Earl Watson walk, and acquired Greivis Vasquez to a 1yr/$1.11M contract after he was waived. No trades were made.

Came down to the final 2 games for the No. 2 seed duel with the Lakers, and the divisional crown. We win two games against the Clippers to cap off the season, and finish tied with Lakers at 54-28, but we won the tie-breaker after sweeping the season series 2-0. Curry made All-NBA Third Team (!) and Anthony Davis made All-NBA Rookie First Team, and finished second in ROY voting to Harrison Barnes (Toronto). We will face the Sacremento Kings in the 1st round. Hoping Rockets can defeat Lakers, but OKC will be our battle if we get to the WCF. Hoping they get eliminated (fingers crossed!)

                              ===

Set for the future, after signing Curry and Monta to those long contracts. They'll be just in their primes, or at the end of them by the time the contracts are up, and with our Wizards '13 1st Rounder, which is looking to be a very high pick, we won the David Lee trade for sure. Not sure what I'll do if we get a very high pick. Roster:

                              Stephen Curry/Greivis Vasquez
                              Monta Ellis/Shannon Brown
                              Gerald Wallace/Gerald Green
                              Anthony Davis/Nene
                              Andrew Bogut/Greg Oden/Brendan Haywood

                              *2013 Wizards Pick
                              *2014 Warriors Pick
                              *2014 Warriors (2nd Rd.) Pick

Wasn't sure I could do it, but with the trading of our '12 picks, and our young prospects, I've built a team for the future w/o trade over-ride. Association is by far the most fun mode. More fun than my ALl-NBA 1st Team My Player. I play on Superstar Difficulty for Assoc.

BTW dynamicswish, I saw on one of your earlier posts that you have Scalabrine as your 12th man
I did but we already started a new online dynasty with the real rosters. I chose the 76ers again.
