Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I just started an association with the bulls. I'm doing 82 game seasons but I'm simulating most of them. I play 6 min quarters and sim at 7 min quarters. Right now we are only 30-23 with one day left until the trade deadline. I'm not sure why but it seems like the team struggles when I sim games. I've played around 6 games so far and went 4-2 in those games. So without my 4 wins the team could've possibly been around .500 at the trade deadline.
I'm not sure if I should make any trades and try to improve the team before going into the playoffs. Right now we are a 5 seed and I would like to at least get to a 3 seed before the playoffs start. I just don't know what the problem is with the team right now. We are rated 2nd in defense and 13th in offense. Our overall I believe is a 92 or 91. The Current roster is the original:
pg Rose/Watson/Lucas
sg Hamilton/Brewer/Korver
sf Deng/Butler
pf Boozer/Gibson/Scalabrine
c Noah/Asik
Scoring averages for the starters: (6/7 min quarters)
Rose 15.8 ppg
Hamilton 9.9 ppg
Boozer 9.5 ppg
Deng 7.3 ppg
Noah 3.2 ppg
At first I thought about trading Boozer but he's doing alright on the scoring front. I could only justify trading him because of his sub-par defense. Noah doesn't give me much offense, but he's a great defender and the teams leading rebounder. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could improve this team?GO HAWKEYES!!!

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Simmed through the 2015-17 season with my Warriors. Traded Monta in he off-season for the No.1 pick from the Mavs. Drafted Jabari Parker. Though Monta was a perennial 20 PPG scorer, I could'nt keep him and Curry's $18M contracts. Cleared a ton of cap room, and I signed Anthony Davis to a 6yr/$103M contract, Wesley Matthews to a 2yr/$7M contract and Danny Green to a 1yr/$2M contract. In the off-season, also traded Alonzo Gee (74OVR), our 1st Rounder and Bill Walker (71OVR) for the Knicks '17 pick, and Daequan Cook and they finished in the top of the lottery so I will have a lottery pick again and with the '17 draft with many great offensive PGs, that is good.
Stephen Curry makes his 6th consecutive All-Star appearance (20/7/4) and Davis had a bad year by his standards averaging 11/10 on 42% shooting with 2 BPG. Perhaps it's the frontcourt sharing with Hirford who struggled as well... we finish as the 2 seed (Minnesota) and are facing the Kings in the first round.Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I made two trades with trade override on because in these two cases the teams either overvalue the player in real life but not in the game or want to find the best offer available due to off the court issues.
I'm the Lakers and here's the first one:
Lakers receive: Andre Iguodala, Goran Dragic
76ers receive: Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Rocets 2nd round pick
Rockets receive: Pau Gasol, Ramon Sessions, Spencer Hawes, Lakers 1st round pick
I think it's fair for all 3 teams even though both declined because the Rockets were willing to give up Scola, Martin, and Dragic for Gasol alone. Even though his value has dropped a little they get Sessions and Hawes in return which I think evens it out. As for the 76ers, they definitely downgrade at the 3 but they get two solid players in Martin and Scola and they can move Brand to center. Assuming they lose tonight they're already planning on trading Iggy and they end up getting a 1st rounder so I honestly think it's fair all around.
Second trade:
Lakers receive: Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Duhon
Magic receive: Andrew Bynum, Metta World Peace, Steve Blake, 2nd round pick
I also think this one's fair because the Magic were very close to pulling the trigger on a trade before the deadline that looked like this:
Lakers receive: Dwight Howard
Magic receive: Andrew Bynum, Steve Blake, Devin Ebanks
Plus they get rid of Turkoglu so a win win right?
I then signed Lamar Odom and my starting lineup looks like this:
PG Goran Dragic
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Andre Iguodala
PF Lamar Odom
C Dwight Howard
Do you guys think these trades are fair?
I played my first game against OKC and it was a thriller. Sadly Kobe missed the game winning buzzer beater but it was loads of fun. Kobe had 31, Dwight 21 or 23, I forget, Iggy 20. The fourth highest scorer had 5 hahaGT: assassinK24Comment

Starting a OKC offline association. But something is bothering me and that is Russell Westbrook. Because it's hard for me to score the two of them (KD and RW). So I'am thinking of a trade. I want to trade Westbrook for Rondo or Deron Williams. Which one do you think? Rondo or Williams? If Rondo the defence will be solid but for Williams offence will be solid.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
sup guys, I'm new to operation sports. I'm trying to start a online association non draft 7 min quarters hall of fame, 58 game season on fast. also with a franchise player rule where you can not trade you're franchise player, you have to pick one player from you're squad that is going to be the franchise player, just like every team has that one guy they will not give up, seems realistic to me, as well no vetoing trades. i have around 5 people that are down, and I'm looking for a good 25 guys to join that enjoy basketball and want to play SIM realistic games. any help around here? thanks guys!!

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Wow. What a season. My non-Fantasy Draft Warriors go for the 3-peat from 2016-18. Steph Curry wins 3 Finals MVPs to go along with his 6 All-Star Appearances thus far. Acquired Anthony Randolph (86) from Houston in exchange for Nerlens Noel. Later got Sim Bhullar for Pattrick Patterson (81) who is pissed he's on the bench, same with Quincy Miller (73), since we have Jabari Parker, Shabazz Muhammad, and our 8th overall pick rookie (81) who is IRL. I have several trades in teams interested in those two, which is the best for me?:
Patterson/Miller for:
Andre Iguodala (81)/Yi Jianlian (79) - Iguodala doesn't want to be a Sixth Man
Josh Smith (85) - Doesn't want to be a Sixth Man either; 31 Years Old
Andre Drummond (81) - Wants 30 MPG, but wants to be a starter, too...
Isaiah Austin (79) - Averages double-double, second overall pick in 2014
Jrue Holiday (80) - Letting our back-up PG walk, and Holiday could get 30 MPG
Jerryd Bayless (80)/'18 1st Round Pick - Averages 18 PPG on 24 MPG
Tyrus Thomas (81) - Averages 18/5 and is an annual DPOY candidate in-game
Which deal is best? We're loaded in the 2 and 3 spots, but need a back-up, and one PF/C who can fill the rest of the minutes; they'd both get around 30 MPG.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Just had an online draft with the Charlotte Bobcats, 5 minute quarters on Pro, 14 game season. This is my team, I've got Amir Johnson on the trade block I'm trying to get a seven footer for him. Other than that I like my team, nice and balanced. Kenneth Faried is a monster in this game. Won my first game 88-63 against Orlando.
PG: Jason Kidd - Chris Duhon (RP)
SG: Manu Ginobili - Marcus Thornton (6th) - Brandon Rush (BW)
SF: Danilo Gallinari - Trevor Ariza (RP)
PF: Andrea Bargnani - Kenneth Faried (RP) - Ekpe Udoh (BW)
C: Al Horford - Amir Johnson (RP)Here's to good friends livin' large in Texas. Texas forever!

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Signed Jabari Parker to a 6yr/$59M deal. Underperforming this season compared to last (15/4/3).
Waiving 77 OVR Quinn Cook has been great for us, as Stephen Curry is back to what made him a 6x All-Star, 3x Finals MVP with us at 30 y/o. Averaging Tony Parker-like numbers this season (18/7/4) and is looking at his 7th All-Star Appearance. Anthony Randolph is sensational averaging 17 PPG and 8 RPG and Anthony Davis back to his All-Star form averaging 11/11. Drummond is averaging 10/10 off the bench. We're worse than last year, but still have a chance for a '4-peat'; we're 27-16 and Top 4 seed in the West in 18-19; Roster:
Stephen Curry (89)/Kasey Long (70)
Shabazz Muhammad (80)/Benton Tullis (81)
Jabari Parker (80)
Anthony Randolph (87)
Anthony Davis (84)/Andre Drummond (81)
Those 8 take up all 240 minutes and because of that, three of our bench warmers are fuming at me for apparently being 'the worst GM in league history'. I found that comical from the AI. The worst GM in league history took the Warriors to a 3-peat lol.Last edited by K.So; 05-27-2012, 07:54 PM.Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
In year two of my Cavs association using Paul Pierce's rosters and sliders. I wanted to build around Kyrie Irving and I'm having a lot of fun so far. I only played a few games in the first season and simmed the rest. We stayed in the bottom two of the standings most of the year but somehow we caught fire at the end and won 12 of our last 13 games! Our final record was still bad enough to earn us the 6th pick in the draft. Using vtcrb's draft class btw. I ended up getting John Henson which to me was a steal for the 6th pick. He is a 74 ovr with 99 block. I made another move in the draft, trading Boobie Gibson and my 2nd rd pick to the Raptors for their 2 rd pick and their first round pick next year. Even though Boobie is a outstanding shooter, I know the Raptors will have a top 5 pick next year so it will be worth giving him up. I also picked up Kris Middleton and some shooting guard from Missouri in the 2nd round.
I had a lot of cap room in the offseason so I used it to upgrade my wing players. I was able to pick up Eric Gordon and Delonte West. I also signed Dahntay Jones so I will have a lockdown defender at small foward. I decided to resign Jamison just to have some extra depth at power foward. My new rotation for year 2:
Irving
Gordon/West/Denman
Jones/Casspi/Middleton
Thompson/Henson/Jamison
Varejao/Erden
I have one of the best backcourts in the league with Irving and Gordon. Jones is a great defender with a 91 mid range rating. Thompson and Henson are both solid defenders at the 4. Henson just swats away everything. I like him better than Thompson, but I like his versatility so I bring him off the bench for now so he can come in at either post position. I really like this team and we are young so I expect to be a contender for a while. I just want to make the playoffs this year and hopefully be at least in the conference finals by next season.
Lucky for us, Garnett had been injured for a few weeks and would miss the first two. The first game was close throughout, but we ended up losing by 3. We just couldn't stay in front of Rondo and their defense was too tough. In game 2, I turned the fastbreak up and decided to run every chance we could get. We ended up playing amazing defense, holding them to 35 percent shooting and blowing them out by 20.
In game 3, the Celtics came out determined to get revenge on the blowout loss. They started the game on a 13-0 run and had a 10 point lead after the 1st. We ended up making a big run in the 2nd quarter and it became a tight game the rest of the way. It was Delonte West who came in and turned things around for us. He helped stop their run in the 1st and led the comeback in the 2nd quarter. We found ourselves down 6 with 2 and a half minutes left in the game. Kyrie Irving hit a couple free throws and then got a quick lay up to cut it to two. On our next possession West hit a big jumpshot to tie the game. After another stop, West came back down and nailed a 3 to give us a 3 point lead. We ended up winning game 3 by 3 and now have a 2-1 lead on the top seeded Celtics.
Even though we have the series lead, I'm not sure my team is good enough to take out the Celtics who had the best record in the leauge. Garnett came back and dominated game 3, and if they would have gave him the ball more we definitely would've lost. If we can just win this next game at home, we will be in control with a 3-1 lead, and have three chances to close them out.Comment
