Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
So we've been getting mixed feedback with regard to 3PT shooting %'s offline and online. Some say it's perfect, some say the %'s are too high. Looking at the league leader stats online, the 3PT %'s look to be spot on. But nevertheless, we need to be sure before patching anything.
So do you guys think that 3PT shooting should be tuned? If so, in what way? If you have complaints, please provide as much detail as possible.
For example:
- offline, online, open, contested, great shooters, poor shooters, perfect timing, bad timing, certain shot types, against users, against AI defenders, My Player, Quick Game, Ranked Online, certain difficulties, what %'s are you seeing? etc.
Midrange is very imbalanced by the way. Could be a ratings thing, but I find even guys in the mid 70's seem automatic from midrange this year.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
To me its not that 3s are falling too much. Its just that they are getting open too easily
when playing against the cpu (my player, associaion, CAL) you a.i teamates leave guys wide open to "help" on guys on the opposite side of the floor. I personally think this is a way the A.I cheats to have **** comebacks.
Other than that its fine to me. In 2K11 no 3s were falling so its the opposite. No contested 3s are falling. only if they are wide open, which is how its suppose to beComment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
What does it matter what % we're witnessing across game modes with simulations? What matters is the core gameplay and whether there are too many threes being made and/or attempted. Anyways, the answer is: there are too many three pointers being made and attempted across all game modes by users and the CPU in both simulations and games played, online and offline.
Possible Fix: A quick look at the rosters reveals there are way too many players with a high tendency for three point shots, coupled with too high a 3-point attribute and voila, therein lies the problem.
Oh, and custom-edited game sliders should apply across ALL game modes!!!Last edited by jtb028; 10-11-2011, 08:39 PM.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
for open set shots, absolutely not. for shots on the move, and contested shots, absolutely yes. and I agree the reach in foul slider need a substantial boost online.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
I think they should tone down the % that the CPU takes and hits....60+% every game..... It's not even the SUPERSTARS that's nailing all these 3's.... You got centers pulling 3s.... Cmon will ya..Memphis Grizzlies.....
TN Titans....
UK Wildcats......

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Bring back the previous league settings please specially the LEAGUE SLIDERS. As much as possible please plan first your online association before implementing it, it’s an **** FAIL, we can’t even adjust the league sliders to tone down some settings like 3pts, mid range, steal accuracy, etc... and the automatic simulation is really irritating (can’t even reset a simulated games or disconnection game in the league), please also consider that all players of 2k12 don’t have all the time to play, i mean we also sometimes getting busy like you, in online association if you failed to play your schedule game it will be automatically simulated which is so frustrating and irritating. Lack to adjust the LEAGUE SLIDERS became our league a shooting feast. Once you perfect the shot release of any player (good shooter or poor shooter) and specially the superstars it’s already automatic 2pts or 3pts even you have a defender in front, I also noticed that any kind of shot has the same release as a jump shot. Please also patch all the contested shot (inside or outside) that should missed or give at least a 25% to 30% accuracy of going in, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o

I bought your 2K12 for online leagues, I hope you fix your poor planned ideas (online association) and bring back the previous year's online league where you became successful. <o></o

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
A couple of issues:
First of all SOME PEOPLE need to act like people who come to OS are the only people who play the game. If the default sliders are changed they need to be changed in every single mode across the board. That includes offline play, and that includes association. "Yeah you can just tweak the sliders etc." Except you're forgetting that the vast majority of the people who play this game wont read this thread and wont know that slider adjustments have gone into place until they "feel" it for themselves. What about the guy who plays with his buddies at his house every now and then and then goes online later? Plenty of these people are content to never touch a slider and just play with stock settings. By not changing the settings for them they'll have a completely different online and offline experience, and be frustrated because they'll never know why. Sliders need to be normalized so that their offline and online success is the same.
The next point is that if there is a slider tweak there has to be a tendency tweak too. Right now the computer is taking 3s and making them with a ridiculously high rate, but what happens when the success is turned down and they still throw up those shots? Suddenly (My Player) goes from frustrating to a bit too easy.
Last point of note - this should be a lesson for 2K13. Sliders should effect simulation stats. This way people don't have to worry about balancing sliders with ratings. As long as the ratings are correct relative to each other people can just tweak the slider as a catch all fix, instead of having to worry about the attributes of hundreds of players.
Also along with the 3pt success being lowered (slightly) the "zone of influence" for contesting shots needs to be strengthened and widened ever so slightly to compensate for the offense having such a movement advantage due to input lag. I say slightly in that A- > B+, B > B-. This plus a -2 on the 3 point slider would balance everything.Last edited by Hotobu; 10-11-2011, 08:30 PM.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Please give as a freedom to adjust the sliders online, like in your previous installments. Please bring back the Sliders settings in the online league, Please bring back the previous online league settings where the commissioner of the league has the total power to control the league. Contested shot shoud missed or only have a very low accuracy percentage to goes in.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Never thought I'd be complaining of all people but yes...online needs to be toned down. Just finished playing a game the got dropped against a Thunder user. Nate Robinson hit 7 CONTESTED threes with the "pressure shooters" The user would just dribble in place and take either a set three pointer or a drifting three. NEVER in my my 2k career have I ever had to go into the coaching menu and set "double team always" for NATE ROBINSON. Had that game not dropped, it looked as if Nate was on his way to 50 on 15 of 16 behind the arc. Smh. Love 2k...but hate it 2.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
cant people control offline with sliders except for myplayer?
patch needs to work online since they took out all of the customization options for player matches. Played with celtics last night in HOF SIM game and went crazy with pierce , allen, and west. hit 7 straight 3pointers even with opponent playing on ball D. the balance is gone and server side sliders need adjusting ASAP. Also bring back the 2k11 player ratings until season starts. The ones available dont represent the real players.TWOLVES are best 3pt shooting team in the game now !!!Comment
