I agree. 2k used to have a right stick dunk system where simply pushing stick forward + Turbo equated to a standard/simple dunk, push another direction for a fancy dunk, etc. Now they seem to put all these crazy dunks with the standard dunks that play out like you said in the most unlikliest situations. They should take your advice.

Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure. -
Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
The contact layup/shot animations should all be breakable, meaning if you get drawn into a contact animation you should be able to pass out of them if you want to. In 2k12 there are some contact animations where you have no control once drawn into the animation which is very annoying.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
I want to be able to do a 360 layup. In 2K11 I could break out of the 360 dunk animation and make it a layup but it didn't look clean. Here's some examples:
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/BKwFzcnbe08" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GSMwoMYaeUM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/plGm4Edp2Mc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It should be an ability and to do it as smoothly as Vince Carter you should have a 'great' ability. You should also have a high layup rating.GT: assassinK24Comment

There's one in the paint too. It's this super akward, double clutch thing where players look more like they're a quarterback getting sacked and the defender is twisting around their legs so they try and throw the ball away. I'm sure you've seen this layup. It was way more common in 2K11 than now, but it still appears. However the CPU has a layup where they double clutch and their legs wind up kinda twisted to one side and their torso is the other and they bank it off the glass and in almost every time I see it.
AH! And I nearly tore my hair out the other day (which would've been something cuz I have a fade) when I had Tyson Chandler under the basket for an easy bucket he was floating up off the ground for the two hand dunk and everything, but a friggin' point guard must've brushed his Achilles' Heel, and Tyson brings the ball down from the rim to double pump some crazy layup thing that clanks off the bottom of the damn rim. He could've still dunked it just cuz there was contact doesn't mean the defender could've really affected his dunk.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
I have been a fan of NBA 2k since it came out on dreamcast, and i will continue to be one because NBA live is garbage and has been for quite some time. I just have a couple things to say about what needs to be fixed as far as gameplay and as far as a few features as well.
1. First of all the gameplay has come a very long way, but lets just be honest. It still has a long way to go. The A.I. is pretty much braindead as far as the decisions that it makes, both in regular gaming but especially in MP. They need to make it more realistic. When your playing a game why would the center be out by the perimeter dribbling out the clock and then jacks up a three? Or I can go back and a video that I watched on YouTube from chrissmoove. It was the last game of the finals versus the bulls and they just dribbled out the clock until it was a second or two and then just thru up a crazy shot with someone other than drose? #comeonson!!! Shot clock cheese, etc. I could go on and on really, but I have made my point.
2. Animations are getting better but there are certain ones that are pretty much unstoppable. The up-and-under is crazy, you can pretty much make that at will. Dribbling off others feet and body is a cool idea because it makes it more realistic, but that also needs to be tied in with the A.I. If I am running the fast break then the other players should realize the situation and not blatantly move directly in my path of dibbling.
3. MP is getting better every year, but it still feels like it is missing something. Maybe have a feature where you can cross your player over into the association or other modes where you can control more than one player yet still have the ability to have your MP progress. Also, they need to add more features to this mode to living things up a bit. It just gets repetitive and seems like you have no real goals. Maybe go back to the old 2k's and incorporate the crib again or things you can buy/do with your money instead of just NBA cares and team functions.
4. Online needs to be completely revamped. This is the main reason why I pretty much stay off the online modes. They lag tremendously, it seams like the gameplay is tweaked. You literally have to devote numerous games to even get the feel of how you should play online in contrast to a regular game.
5. They need to incorporate ways for the xbox and ps3 versions to be editable like the PC versions. I understand that this could be difficult but its worth a shot. I see all these videos on YouTube from operation sports and they all have classic teams, better looking player models, all the alternate jerseys, everything they want to put in the game basically. Console versions would be way better if they could incorporate this somehow.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
There's a glitch with steals in which a defender will knock the ball loose but it counts it as a steal even though he doesn't have possession. Then, if the offensive player recovers the ball, it counts the defender as getting a turnover.
Also, on an unrelated note: Free throw practice in My Player would be nice.Last edited by kmiree16; 07-28-2012, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
Another report from watching my friend's My Player. He was traded to the Bulls, and he's recently been taking more shots than Derrick Rose every game, and his My Player is like a 73 overall. This shouldn't be allowed at all. Not saying the game shouldn't allow it, but the coach should reprimand him and threaten to bench him if he keeps jacking shots like that, especially with Rose on his team, and especially especially since they've been losing since he got traded there.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
You want the CPU to have even more influence on your shots? What if you're down by 1 and take an open jumper to win the game but miss because making the shot wouldn't coincide with the player's real FG%? I can understand real FT%, because if you get a perfect release, you're guaranteed to make the free throws, plus every free throw attempt is the same. But jump shots are contextual and you're not guaranteed to make a certain shot even if you're open especially on higher difficulties.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
nooooooooooooooooo that dumbing it down even more . 2k11 had it right where release and ratings determined success while 2k12 gave everyone a quick release and invisible ratings boost if person had no defenders around . If you having trouble shooting keep practicing because realFG% will completely destroy any need to practice shooting .Comment
