I just want the players subbed out to jog to the bench. Or let us hit x to skip their long walk.

      Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

Things that need to be added/improved for 2k13:

      Gameplay

      - My Player Crew mode.

      - Ability to play with the legend teams online with/against friends (co-op). Private team-up games would be one place where it would be great to be able to use these teams.

      - More responsive & tighter player movement like 2k11. There is far too much sliding around on the court this year, feels like your on a hockey rink. Makes it hard to stay in front of another human opponent while playing on-ball defense. Also when trying to move in the opposite direction its very slow & delayed. Also many times players just slide out of bounds.

      - Trying to contest a Shot/Block the ball, jumping is very delayed and sluggish. Last year when you went for a block or wanted to get a hand up in someones face as they were shooting the ball you would actually jump towards the guy who was shooting. This year you just slowly float in the air.

      - Playing on-ball defense and you're holding LT (intensive D) and the person shoots the ball, your player should put a hand up like in 2k11.

      - On-ball defense there should be a little more contact. This year offensive players are able to slide right by your defense a little bit too easily.

      - Improve passes into the paint. Many times when you pass to someone who is wide open in the paint or is cutting to the paint they bobble the ball, fall out of bounds, or the computer tips/steals the ball.

      - Blocks need to be improved. Many of the blocks this year look so dumb and are so weak. You can be going up for a layup or shot and before the ball even leaves your hands it gets blocked.

      - Improve the Live Ball Physics. I'm so tired of balls constantly being knocked loose by going off another players foot, back, or being blocked by a players elbow, armpit, ect.

      - Steals/Loose balls need to be toned down just a little bit. There are far too many on-ball steals (especially online) where someone just reaches in, around, or behind you and steals the ball or they're able to knock the ball loose from you.

      - Players that progressively sweat like in 2k11. It makes the players look alot more realistic.

      - Bring back signature shot releases like what were in 2k11. The shot releases in 2k12 have all been dumb downed. It used to be fun to have to learn and practice the various players releases. Now people don't even have to practice to be able to shoot good.

      - Being able to dunk or put up a simple layup needs to be improved just a little bit when your standing right under the rim. Sometimes your guy will throw up some weird looking layup animation when you want him to dunk or simply layup the ball and so it ends up getting blocked or hits the bottom of the rim.

      - Continuation Fouls the defense should not be frozen. The defense should be able to contest/block the continuation shot.

      - Alley-oops need to be improved just a little bit. They were dumb downed from 2k11. I'm tired of seeing guys jump for an alley-oop and seeing an animation were he doesn't even jump up for it properly and the ball just sort of fumbles off his body.

      - Improve Boxing Out/Rebounding. I'm tired of boxing out and at times my guy won't even turn and face the basket or boxing out and the computer still gets the rebound behind me or jumping for the rebound and it being tipped several times and not being able to grab the rebound. Also, I hate sometimes when you use turbo and try to get a rebound and you end up plowing over someones and getting the foul.

      Online Team-up

      - Inbounding the ball needs to be fixed. It is severly delayed this year or sometimes won't work at all if a defender(s) is considered to be too close to the player(s) your trying to pass it to, which leads to having to call multiple timeouts or many times leads to getting 5 sec calls and turning the ball over .

      - In-game substitution method needs to be improved. This year the screen disappears too quickly at times, sometimes the little box won't go away at all, starter disappears from the list at times, sometimes it won't let you sub at all, scrolling only in one direction is a pain, and there needs to be a confirmation button.

      - Friends invited to play together this year will sometimes end up on different teams. Friends in a lobby need to be grouped together like in 2k11.

      - Ability to call Defensive plays with the PG needs to be added back.

      - Shot timing feedback system like in 2k11 needs to get added back.

      - Win/Loss record for team-up games needs to be added back.

      - In the back court if your bringing the ball up court and it gets knocked loose by someone from the other team and you recover the ball the 8 second rule doesn't reset, so you get back court violations when you shouldn't.

      - There should be lobbies based on players rankings & DNF %. Far too many people quit in team-up. If there were lobbies for players with say Superstar/HOF rankings and say a min of 75% that completed their games it would be so much more fun for those of us who love playing a full games of team-up with very few people actually leaving.

      - Ability to play with the NBA Today team match-ups for that day would be awesome and would make team-up alot more fun, instead of having to play with the same team match-ups over & over again.

      - Ability to see who is talking in the pre-game lobby and be able to mute annoying people should be added back in.

      - Private team-up, we should be able to scroll through the players on the team in the pre-game lobby. In case we want another player to start or to see who else is available to play at that position.

      - Ability to see how many timeouts are left would be a big help.

      Thank you for listening!

More MP control would be awesome. For me, at least, it would be so much more realistic if we could choose to walk up to teammates after they shoot a free throw. It's something super small, but it would be cool to have that control. As for another MP adjustment, you shouldn't *just* get a good defense rating for contesting a shot. Why can't the rating go up if you play great on-ball defense during the first 20 seconds of the shot clock? If you're running through screens and staying with the player, raise the teammate grade!

As far as accessories go... when we are editing a player we should decide WHAT accessories he wears. At the screen where we pick what jersey we want, we should be able to press the Y button and pick what color headband, sleeves, bands, socks, and home or away shoes. This would keep us from having to go in and edit players before every single game.

If you're going to have 2,000 animations or however many, than more than 20 animations should eventually play out. It's like only the first few animations ever play out, especially with contact shots and dunks.

Go back to the 2K11 controls as far as layups and dunks go, it was easier to control, and felt better.

With the escape dribble pull ups.... you should ONLY be able to do them when you are just holding the ball or dribbling in a stationary position. It seems to play out A LOT when I'm driving to the basket and I'm trying to do a reverse layup and my guy just runs out of bounds.
Also, a lot of the escape dribble pull ups include a pump fake at the beginning, but the CPU NEVER goes for the fake.

Get rid of all of the sliding, super jumps, invisible step, etc. Try to get rid of as much morphing and clipping as possible.

More walk the ball up animations ala 2K7. I mean when we walk the ball up court now they OBVIOUSLY carry the ball, it looks ridiculous.

Last but not least, LIVE UP TO YOUR PROMISES... if you are going to say you'll have frequent art updates, then have them! In 2K9, y'all would add and remove animations throughout the season, haven't seen you guys do anything like that since.

If you don't want to eventually lose out to the NBA Live series, you're going to have to STEP YOUR GAME UP. 2K12 was a serious let down...

            MyPlayer

I would like for there to at least be an option to have a more realistic/tougher experience in MyPlayer.

Starting with making it tougher for you to get consistent minutes and become a starter when the player ahead of you has a better overall. A high draft stock should be alot harder to get also. In NBA 2k10 I averaged 15, 5, and 5 with my MyPlayer and was drafted in the mid 2nd round. In 2k11 I averaged worse and was drafted in the mid 1st round. I prefer the 2k10 results over the 2k11 results.

Also, to make it tougher, the NBA D-League should be used as a starting point instead of the Rookie Showcase that was used this year. Much like MLB the show does with AA and AAA baseball before you make the big leagues.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I think the D-League has a draft just like the NBA has a draft. U can get drafted by a D-League team, play out the season(maybe be a D-League all-star, go to playoffs, etc.), maybe get called up, etc. And If the season ends without you getting called up then maybe you can make a summerleague team.

**I would like to see summerleague and training camp games return in 2k13**

There also hasn't been the option to play preseason games in MyPlayer, I would like to see that added in 2k13.

I would also like for team practices to be an option on days when games aren't played so you can get used to your team's offensive plays.

            Association

I think there should be an option to start Association right after the NBA draft. That way you get to play out your team's off-season before the season starts. It will also give you an opportunity to get used to your rookies/new players and run a training camp before the season.

I would like to see the summerleague from MyPlayer added into this mode also, mainly as a way to test out rookies after you draft them.

                    • When making A player at a certain position, let the gamer choose his body build, like if you choose A SF let us choose a Durant type of body or a Lebron type of body. Or if I'm a PF let me choose a Carloz Boozer type of body or a Blake Griffin type etc.

I hate when I make a player my PF or C just looks like a really tall Guard.

If they just added in an option for wingspan they could do something like this. Wingspan is an important part of basketball. In this game, everyone's arms are the same length.

                        Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

1.) Rate players' attributes with the intent to create realistic season stats, instead of just throwing numbers together to get a desired OVR rating.

There's a few things that go into this one. First, we know it's possible to get accurate season stats in most categories if you know how the game mechanics interpret individual ratings, as most of the good roster creators on OS have done so by creating formulas using real NBA stats. If unpaid "amateurs" can do this, there's absolutely no excuse for the professionals not to. But in some categories (blocks, passing, INS shot) even at 99 there is no way to get realistic numbers for the top guys in the league. This needs to be addressed. 2k should be testing to make sure the game mechanics allow things like 3+ BPG, 12+ APG, and 75% SP at the rim. Also speed and quickness ratings need a complete overhaul. If Rajon Rondo is in front of everyone on a fastbreak, bigs like Tyson Chandler should absolutely not be able to run them down and get a block or contest the shot.

Now 2k, before you say, "But ballsohard, most of our sales come from casual gamers. If we rate the players the way you suggest, they might not have as much fun." I have an answer for that. Create the sliders with each style of gameplay in mind. Keep casual as the default and let casual gamers cheese their little hearts out, but
(more importantly) make the simulation sliders actually play like an NBA game and create realistic stats. Just be sure to let us choose the sliders we would like to use online. It would have to be set pregame and used by both players. It could be one of the options you select when setting up the game, like quarter length. That way even online people who want to cheese can play others who like to cheese, and people who want to play simulation basketball can play others who want the same thing.

2.) Let the users swap jerseys and change team colors for said jerseys in game.

Give us the same options that hex editors have. It is absolutely ridiculous that we have to rely on hex editing to make the game look the way we want. There should be a "Manage Jerseys" section in the menu. In this section we should have the option for switching one jersey for another, changing the team colors for each jersey, changing headband colors, changing sock colors, changing length of shorts worn, and changing the way the jersey fits (how loose/tight, v-neck/normal cut). And if this is added, please don't only give us one or two variations of each color to choose from. In my opinion we should get a color chart like this one (see image below in spoiler tags)
and also the option to just type in a hex code for colors.
                        Spoiler

In 2k12, some teams come with an insane amount of jersey slots, while others only have 3. If we had the option of swapping jerseys, 5 slots would be plenty for each team. The default could be current home and away, secondary, and one home and away retro jersey. Then if users chose to they swap them out for jerseys they unlock either in game or threw DLC. This would also allow 2k to not have to make promises they can't keep, in terms of jersey updates, because we could do it all ourselves. Once again, we should also have all of these jersey customization options online as well.

3.) Give us every jersey ever worn in the NBA through a Retro Jersey DLC.

I'm normally not a fan of DLCs, as I feel I shouldn't have to pay more for additional content that should have been in the game from the beginning. But with that said, I realize programming that many jerseys into the game is a lot of work, and if there was ever anything I'd be willing to spend an extra ten bucks on, it'd be this. I'm sure the majority of people would feel the same way, as long as you added my previous suggestion of jersey customization.

4.) When calling plays for a player, we should be able to select which play-type we would like to call (without eliminating all other play-types from that player mid-game).

This is a quick fix, but it would make a world of difference in gameplay, in my opinion. When calling plays it should go like this: Hit LB/L1, choose which player you want to call play for, then that players play-types show up and you choose one, then only plays with that play-type show up. Now while this does add one "extra button" press, even someone playing the game for the very first time knows what type of play they are calling. It would also cut down the pages we would have to sift through to get to one of the plays that's near the back of the playbook for the users that know what they are looking for.

5.) Bring back Quick Plays for all players, or at least allow us to change recipients of the quick plays in game.

This is another quick fix that would make a world of difference to gameplay. In the past, we were able to hit the quick plays button, choose the player we want to run one for, than have all available QP options for that player. In my opinion, this should be brought back. But if for some reason it can't be brought back without taking something away, give us the option to change recipients of the quick plays in the coaches profile. Having it predetermined and locked in by tendencies seems foolish and doesn't allow the user to have a realistic NBA experience.

6.) Give the user more control over passing.

We should be able to control the type of pass we want to use (bounce, chest, lob over the top of defender) and speed/strength of the pass. I'm not sure on an exact solution for this, but incorporating pressure-sensitive button presses and LT/L2 modifier button would be a great start.

If all of these suggestions are implemented and 2k12's glitches are fixed, 2k13 would be the best basketball video game of all time and restore fans' faith in the franchise. In closing, I hope I articulated my thoughts well enough to express what I'm looking for, as I'm quite tired. But if anyone from 2k sees this and has any questions, I'm more than willing to answer anything via PM.

                          "The Little Things":

                          Fix player movement
Almost all movements in this game are SPASTIC. It's like the players always have a million thoughts going through their tiny virtual heads ALL THE TIME. Going into a shot looks somewhat spastic most of the time, especially from a dribble because no matter where the ball is, it will morph to your hand, if the player is in the middle of a dribble when you go to shoot, he should FINISH THE DRIBBLE, that would be realistic.

Make the players smaller or the court bigger, this would probably help with spacing issues (which apparently were worked on for 2K12, but spacing is still horrible).

Physical attributes should matter. Period. Centers shouldn't keep up with Derrick Rose, just like he shouldn't be able to out muscle them in most cases.

Get rid of canned animations, contact should be based on position, weight, strength, etc. NOT a random animation.

Create some kind of field to where players can't morph through each other to get rid of clipping, same thing goes for the backboard, the ball, and the rim.

                          Not so little things:

Either get rid of the shot stick and make it the control for dribbling, or go back to 2K11's controls for it, mixed in with the escape dribble.

There are almost TOO many shots a lot of the times, yesterday I was trying to perform a drift shot to the right and my player goes in for some warm-up looking layup and gets forced into a CANIMATION (surprise, surprise). It gets annoying when I can't control what's going on.

In CAP: Let us upload our face, fix the facial hair so it's not crooked, fix the head hair to make it actually look like hair. Give us the choice of short length, and jersey fit.

Ability to relocate teams or change team colors. The Wizards just changed their colors, what if I want to change the Bobcats colors or the Hawks, Nets, etc.?! Let us create jerseys for our teams. Maybe I want to create a new alternate black jersey for the Lakers. Give us that choice.

Give us a TeamBuilder mode so we can start expansions or relocate teams. It would have to be online, and if I say relocated the Hornets back to Charlotte, I would have the choice to make up my own roster or use the current Hornet roster. We would be able to decide our colors, jersey style, sock color, etc.

When we edit a player, we should decide WHAT accessories they wear and at the jersey select screen we decide what color we want our headbands, sleeves, bands, socks, and use home or away shoes.

It should be ALL ABOUT CUSTOMIZATION. THAT is what will sell. You give us the awesome gameplay, let us worry about everything else, because then WE can decide how our game looks. I promise, if you give us more customization options, you will make a TON of money...

2K13 needs 3 game modes: Casual, Sim and Challenge. 2K12's Sim is supposed to be Challenge mode. It's not Sim basketball. And it's ok to have this kind of mode, but please don't call it Sim.
                            My Specs:

                            ZX Spectrum
                            CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
                            GPU: Monochrome display
                            RAM: 48 KB
                            OS: Sinclair BASIC

Just thought that it would be nice if they added a post moves speed rating. Tim Duncan and D12 shouldn't do the moves at same speed.

Reintroduce the old "on-the-fly" substitution menu: The menu used in 2K12 is a vast downgrade. I do not understand the logic behind its introduction. It seems to offer nothing that might improve upon the previous menu used in past 2K installments.

Here are a few of my issues with the current on-the-fly substitution menu:

                                1. Button Subbing: Contrary to previous 2K's, 2K12 utilized on-the-fly substitutions by having the user press a face button that corresponded to a particular position (ex: "A" for point guard). This created numerous problems. Namely, there was a lack of control as to who one is choosing to sub. Since time is of the essence in on-the-fly substitutions, buttons are often being pressed quickly. As such, if I'm the Pistons and I'm pressing "A" to sub in Brandon Knight - only I click one more time than necessary, I must then go all the way around the horn to find Knight again.

I'd suggest returning to the system where on-the-fly substitutions are toggled entirely by the D-Pad. Pressing a direction on the D-Pad would bring the sub menu up, then pressing "Left" or "Right" would cycle through specific positions (just as 2K11 provided). This way, if the user accidentally overshoots a sub, they can simply press the button once in the opposite direction to re-select the player they initially passed.

                                2. Subbing Availability: In 2K12, it seems as if on-the-fly substitutions have been limited to smaller windows. In previous 2K's, the on-the-fly sub menu could be brought up at just about any moment. In 2K12, there seems to be a fair number of moments (including when a player initially steps to the free throw line) where the user cannot bring up the sub menu and subsequently cannot make their preferred substitutions in time.

Further, I feel as though I've heard stories of folks looking to make substitutions via face button, only to trigger their player to shoot a free throw instead.

Essentially, I feel the former on-the-fly sub menu to be far superior to the current system.
