Authentic stadium sounds. Get rid of the generic crap 2k puts out there, or the half hearted arena sounds that sound 'similar' - When I play in Chicago stadium, I want it to SOUND like i'm playing in Chicago stadium. Not just have the arena sounds for one game then dissapear afterwards. (Legends mode they're fine, outside of that, they are non existant)

Passing - give us the ability to bounce, lob or thread the needle etc. The passing this year has been totally flawed.

More legends/legendary teams - Self explanitory. I'd rather have this than any blacktop/team up/my player or crew mode.

Speed to matter - If I steal the ball and am already at half court ahead of everyone else using, say, ROndo, I don't expect a lumbering Centre to magically catch uo with me at the rim for a block attempt. Sort this out.

Revamped dunks/new dunk animations - Game is in desperate need of better dunk packages.

More sig layups/shots - 2k11 had me pulling off these shots quite frequently, ala Jordan's one handed hanging shot/Kobe's reverse pivot, but this year I can honestly say I've only ever seen these but a few times. Make them more accessible 2k.

Classic playoff mode - full playoff rosters for years such as 1992, 1994, 1996, 2001 etc to be fully playable as you take your favourite team of that year through to try and win the finals and re-write history.

More triple threat animations - head and shoulder fakes, shimmies, rocker steps etc. Oh and of course, have the animation of Michael Jordan palming the ball before he explodes out on that first step....

BRING BACK CREATE A LEGEND! I love this game mode! Reviving Macs career, getting nash the championship, and if your a fan of him which i'm not..get Kobe his 6th ring! Next year I would love to start the career of Kendall Marshall or John Henson! For those who love the idea of keeping it LIKE this post...hopefully 2k sees that its a must have for next year!

I've played basketball for a long time and I've got to say that there are lots of things NBA 2K creators should improve.
One thing I've noticed is if you've played NBA 2K9, 2K10, 2K11 and 2K12 long enough eventually you would start to see some kind of routine. Like for example you would knew when player is going to pass, when he is going to shot and whether he'll make his shot or not.
So firstly you should make AI act more appropriate.
Secondly players should be able to control other players in more specific way, like f.e if you are PG you should be able to do Pick&Rolls more accurately (even some kind of special practice mode for that would be good).
And what comes after that is - passing. It's just so bad in NBA 2K12, no matter that your passing skill is maxed out, your player would still throw the ball to the hands of your opponents, and that just makes this whole skill points collecting thing ridiculous, because eventually you will pass badly with your overral passing skill raiting 99 as you did it with 50. More control of passing is needed.
Next thing is dribble moves. It's so difficult to cross the guys in NBA 2K12 (even if you are a point guard and you're trying to cross the center position guy). They should make the dribbling thing more difficult but more effective too, that way it would not just be a thing of how much of skill points you did put to your dribble moves, but what you can actually do yourself.
That are just some thing that should be improved in gameplay (but there's so much more).
Other thing is graphics. It's 2012 year out there and they still can't make some players look a like in a game. Seriously? Spend some time on it, make players unique, not the same. Also improve overral graphics, because the graphics engine that is there now is too old, it's started with NBA 2K9 and it's still the same! Guys make something new!
As for additional stuff like All-Star weekend I agree, it would be cool to make 3pt contest etc. But the only thing that can keep gamers playing this new NBA 2K13 is good gameplay. So improve it dammit!!!
(There's so much to improve, but I don't really have time to write everything down here and also I don't get paid for that, directors of game get though, so get your asses up and start creating something that would make us (gamers) proud of you.)

My Player
-Have better nicknames
-If your player's name is not in the a game have the announcer say the nickname and the last name
-Better hairstyles (Mohawk like B.Jennings, different braids, better looking dreads)
-Full sleeve tattoos
-Allow us to choose different color headband (white, black, team 1, team2), give multicolored headbands
-When you get drafted show the player where the team's hat
-Allow us to choose an agent
-Allow to start with at least 15,000 SP
-Fix the Speed
-Have a practice schedule to help build up more skill points
-Put in sliders for the CPU and Teammates
-Have broadcasters talk about you every game as you progress each game
-Remove the bumping animation
-Allow us to choose our jersey's and the opponents jersey
-Have other TV broadcasters (ABC, TNT, ESPN)
-More Endorsement (Nike, Adidas, Reebok, UA)
-Allow us to choose who we want to endorse
-Have accessories change colors when it's Fit Week, St. Patricks Day, Christmas, etc

In this game when players raise their eyebrows for some reason their eyebrows get thicker and higher when it should just be the brow that is raised, the hair on it shouldn't expand or anything.

Really all I want is for 2K to overhaul the animation system to as close as perfection as they can(I still see canned animations), allow us to keep control of our players a little who after the whistle, and for my player, make the AI smarter and add sliders. Also, keep adding more features into my player.

I don't know if anyone has already said this but- I would like to see Create A Legend expanded. 2k should make it more interesting so that you're not just playing games and getting rated on how well you do.

A compiled list of all my suggestions for 2K13's my player mode:

-Photo Game Face

-Team Builder

-More accessories – goggles (different variations), face mask (clear or black), mouth guard, two-tone arm sleeves, overlapping accessories, injury specific accessories

-Allow technical fouls, flagrant fouls, ejections and suspensions

-Different jersey fitting – loose (for example Kobe), tight (Rose, Howard), regular

-Edit wingspan (with CAPS for each position)

-Different body builds – thin (Kevin Durant), husky (Dexter Pittman, Shaq), buff, ripped, normal

-More hairstyles – ability to use any player in the game’s hairstyle

-Tattoos – upload your own picture that can be used as a tattoo that can be placed on any visible part of the body

-Ability to select jerseys

-Different selection of voices

-Ability to ask to be subbed in/out

-Choose a hotspot – select a spot (like a zone from the shooting drill) that your player has a higher percentage chance of making it from

-Bring back crew – with complete customization of jerseys AND court, different court textures (like how the Magic have a checkerboard design) and option to have 3D text on baseline or sideline (like the Raptors)

-Jump shot creator – for Kinect users motion capture your form. Otherwise ability to customize follow through, arc, how high you jump, the way your feet move, where the ball starts out and where it is when it leaves your hand

-Ball rotation – Choose if when your player shoots the ball whether it has regular rotation, no rotation, or sideways rotation (like Joakim Noah)

-More packages – like layup and dunk packages, there should be packages for passing (Rubio’s through the defender’s legs pass), blocks (Dikembe Mutombo's finger wag after a block) and celebrations (Jason Terry’s “jet”)

-More endorsements (Nike, Addidas, Reebok, Under Armor, Spalding, etc.) that offer different amounts of money

-On certain occasions allow accessory color changes (Breast Cancer Awareness, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas)

-Integrate FIBA teams and allow your player to play oversees

-Off-court apparel - allow your player to choose between different suits and accessorize with no-lense glasses, a backpack, or Beats (to name a few)

-Include All Star Weekend with the Taco Bell Skills challenge, Haier Shooting Stars Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, Sprite Slam Dunk Contest and change the Rookie Sophomore game to the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge where your player gets drafted to either Team Shaq or Team Chuck, all indoors with accurate presentation

-Pre-game, halftime, and post-game interviews

-OPTIONAL: Select a player to mold your playstyle after (like how MarShon Brooks resembles Kobe and how Kobe resembles Jordan) whose signature package(s) you automatically unlock

-My player leagues where your friends can play in the Rookie Showcase and enter the draft with you

-In the Rookie-Sophomore Game have players wear their team's jerseys

as a long time 2k fan that's my take on what 2k13 should improve/focus:

GAMEPLAY
- bring back effective Double Teams by CPU even when a player is not hot: KB24 and DH12 are DT even at the start of the game
- improve pick'n roll and pick'n pop
- improve defense in the paint: add more contacts between players
- add more sig. animation and possibly sig. running styles
- improve sig. shots animations...but here 2k12 is just very solid ^_^
- improve block mechanics....add more "strong" blocks where ball is sent into the crowds
- self alley
- improve "live ball" physics to create a even better "dynamic flow" of the game



PRESENTATION
- add player introduction for starting five (ex: #6 from St. Vincent St. Mary.....Lebroooon Jameeees....and so on)
- arena sounds are great but ball bouncing with the rim is just atrocious....please record new sounds
- improve playoff/big games atmosphere: we really need to feel the immersion and importance when we'll play those games
- arena camera improve arena specific cams
- custom camera: allow us to customize everything for in game cameras

GRAPHICS
- ability to choose between tight fitting and loose fitting jerseys
- ability to choose between tight fitting and loose fitting shorts
- ability to choose between long/short shorts
- improve palette: red is red....not pink....black is black...not gray..
- add more HD quality shoes/accessories
- add legs "tattoos"
- bring back "progressive sweating" and jersey sweating
- improve slighty player models and add player wingspan

Also every team should have their classic teams. When on the home screen about to play a game, you should just be able to press a button to change to the classic teams. If you have to unlock every team a specific way that's fine. In case of some legends getting left out they should make a Legends Pool(same as free agents)

Most definitely. I know it'd be a huge ask, but every team should have at least 2 classic versions to chose from.

Pretty much for My Player I want to see the evolution of a true career mode, true multiplayer, and truly customizable My player.
