    Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

    Another wish:

What is up with the double team cheese? When someone presses double team, it automatically starts this magical force field pressure on the ball handler -- whether or not there is actually a 2nd defender in the vicinity. That is the type of CPU-controlled b.s. that noobies / cheesers love because it's not actually them doing the defense, it's them pressing a CPU action of double team or intentional foul to create an artificial pressure. Please get rid of this, it's been in the game for far too long and it takes zero skill to do this. Especially in team-up mode. Teamup mode should be about the USERS manually controlling EVERYTHING. So any CPU functions that does the work for the user should be removed. This is one of those silent cheese moves that no one talks about because it's hard to detect but you know when it happens.

Please improve the AI of the players and teams. Make guys play like themselves. Players like Kobe and Paul Pierce don't utilize a mid range game in 2K12. Everyone, even little point guards are rushing into the paint to block post shots from big men. Everyone does dribble pull ups then pump fakes. It's too mechanical. Tendencies need to be revamped. There is no identity from team to team. No team implements any kind of philosophy on the court, especially on defense. In real life, some teams like to pack the paint. Some teams are overly aggressive (like Miami). Some are more lackadaisical (like Sacramento). But in 2K12, everyone is a super dedicated and aggressive defender. There's no identity.

          Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

I have just a few more important requests for 2k13 that I forgot to mention in my previous list. I think improving these areas is pretty crucial to next year's game, so hopefully they can work on these issues for 2k13.

          1. first problem: slow dribbling. Compared to 2k11, the ball handler often accelerates very slowly in 2k12, so you don't feel like you can explode quickly out of a stand-still or out of sizeups. Some times I'll hold turbo and try to move forward, but my player just sluggishly dribbles forward...even though I'm holding turbo and controlling a fast guard...meanwhile the defender can accelerate and shuffle at warp speed to cut me off. This year the defenders are lightning-quick, but the ball handler seems to have no speed, acceleration, or explosiveness. there's just something wonky going on with the lack of speed when dribbling. It also feels like the game just ignores the turbo trigger. I'll be dribbling and holding down turbo, but my player accelerates slowly and just jogs forward rather than moving with explosiveness. it takes forever to accelerate when dribbling...the player will take a few very slow steps as he starts to move forward...but in real life, fast NBA players can explode forward and accelerate extremely quickly with the ball, but that doesn't feel like the case in 2k12.

          2. second problem: wonky dribbling locomotion. compared to 2k11, the dribbling locomotion just feels strange. when moving around with the ball, the way the player switches the ball to the opposite hand is strange. It felt better in 2k11. I don't know how to describe it, but if you do the dribble course drill in both games back-to-back and compare them, you can see that the timing of how the ball handler changes direction and switches the ball just feels less responsive and less intuitive in 2k12. the way the ball handler moves in 2k12 just feels off and not as "snappy" as in 2k11. in 2k12 the way he changes direction and moves is slower and "sloppier". I don't know how to describe it, but it felt better in 2k11. In 2k11, as soon as you started to change direction, your player would switch the ball to his other hand...this made directional changes much quicker and more explosive...but in 2k12, it feels like the timing of the "hand switch" is too late and this contributes to the dribbling feeling more sluggish somehow.

          3. third problem: in 2k12 you can't pass out of certain contact layup animations...instead you are forced to put up the shot even if you try to pass out mid-animation. in 2k11, you could pass out of any animation, but for some reason in 2k12, certain animations must play out all the way and can't be passed out of.

          4. many of the isomotion animations (like crossovers and spins) are often ineffective. for example: I notice that a lot of the crossovers don't really allow you to change direction - meaning, after the crossover, the game just makes your player move forward rather than "to the side". so rather than being able to use the crossover to change direction and move around the defender, the crossover often just forces you forward. what's the point of doing a crossover if my player doesn't really change direction? also, it feels like with some crossover animations, after the crossover animation plays out, the game forces your player forward with a couple of canned steps, so there are some extra steps tied into the crossover that carry you forward, rather than giving you back control immediately after the crossover animation. adding unnecessary canned movements to animations just takes away control and makes the game feel too canned and sluggish.

          5. When controlling a defender, bring back "lateral hip ride animations" when turbo running along side the ball handler. For some reason in 2k12, there is no such thing as "lateral" or "side contact"...you can only create contact when you are directly in front of the ball handler. The contact system is so picky about when it initiates a contact animation. Make the contact more nuanced and subtle. In 2k12, for some reason, you can't create any contact with the ball handler when running with turbo - physics just go out the window. I don't care what buttons I'm holding or where my player is, if my player is running into the ball handler, there should be contact...please just attempt to replicate real physics and have contact occur when it would in real life. Seeing players constantly slipping and sliding past one another when they should be colliding is pretty frustrating.

          6. When controlling an off-ball player (like in My Player) you should be able to do spins and directional changes to break out of bump animations. The off-ball bumps are just way too long and uninterruptible. You should be able to break out of them fairly easily. In My Player or Player Lock, trying to control an off-ball player is a nightmare thanks to all the suction and exaggerated bumping and holding going on...allow us to break the bump animations quickly by doing a spin or simply by changing direction or running away from the defender.

Retro footwear. If you're gonna have teams from the 80's and 90's, give us enough classic footwear to kit them out.

                Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

A couple personal preferences of mine that I'd like to see added/modified in 2K13 are:

                1.) Speed differentiation
                - all too many times, I've played the passing lane to start a fast break with LeBron, only to have him max out his speed and get caught. 2K12 took a great strive in having the "throw the ball ahead" animation, but I'd like to see it taken a step further by making a more realistic acceleration between one end of the court to the other

                2.) Fast break animations
                - again, the fast break took a step forward in 2K12, but to really set the pace, it would be good to have signature animations for players with specific running styles.

                - If someone showed me a silhouette of Derrick Rose, I could easily tell you it was Derrick Rose. If someone showed me a silhouette of LeBron, Wade, Wall, Tony Parker, and Ty Lawson, I could tell them apart. So to me, there should be a similar approach with running animations; no two (star) players run alike.
(LeBron takes huge strides when gaining momentum, whereas Derrick Rose jerks his head forward in a jittery manner as he gains momentum)

                3.) Passing
                - With the great strides 2K made from 2K10 to 2K12, the passing still seems a bit untouched. It would be nice to have at least an option to "bullet pass" (maybe holding the pass button or a pass modifier)
                - a cross-court lob pass could also be a great addition

                4.) Dribbling
                - 2K12 had a great dribbling/Isomotion system, but it still felt like it was missing something. As a basketball player, I'd like to see a wider variety of moves. 2K12 had a vast selection of dribbles, but some seemed a bit useless given the position. Maybe adding a different way to branch the moves would give the user more control
                - This may be a stretch, but on a fast break, I've seen it done a few times this season, but maybe a quick dribble through the defender's legs (situation-based so it doesn't become a cheese)

                5.) Defense
                - swarming defense specific to certain teams. Miami's help defense is easy to exploit with ball movement, but the pressure they apply in real life is a bit overbearing and it would be cool to feel that same pressure at times during the course of the game

                6.) Dunking
                - more signature dunks (yes, I'm looking directly at Blake Griffin's Mozgov/Perkins dunk)...of course, situation-specific only.
                - Dwyane Wade and LeBron have their "signature" alley oop where Wade jumps and leaves the ball in front of the rim for LeBron to dunk

                7.) Tip off
                - this one's minor, but Rondo's antics after the opening tip would be a nice little touch, haha.

Also, maybe more dynamic fan interaction with players. Like after a critical play resulting in an and-1, maybe have a few different animations where the scoring player celebrates and the fouling player talks to the ref. Again, it's just a minor addition.

Anyways, these are just a few things I could come up with. They all seem pretty plausible in my opinion. Cheers, mates.

When we run plays that require one of our players to run off of screens, make them actually sprint instead of jog. The defenders sprint around screens to keep up with the offensive player, and it makes it impossible for guys to get open off of off-ball screens unless the defender gets completely screened off.

To add with that whole aspect, fix player awareness so that they actually set screens in the right place, or continue screening until the defender is past him. There are lots of plays where guys will set screens in the wrong place because they set it where the guy catches the ball instead of the spot that the actual play calls for. Also, they will sometimes stop setting screens before the defender even reaches them. This makes it even easier for the defender to catch up to the offensive player.

One wish I have is time to start phasing out the legends stuff. Outside of the gameplay Association and Online need a lot of love for 2k13. I mean what went down with Association in 2K12 is alot like what happened to franchise mode in madden 11 but 2K tried to handwave online Association as an improvement when it is a completely separate experience. They should take a lot of that time they spent recording dialogue for the legends game and apply it to some very forward thinking Association audio.

Wow, completely the opposite of what i'd like. So long as 2k include the legends, they'll be raking in the $$$.

I won't even entertain the thought of buying 2k13 if the legends are no longer a part of the game. I couldn't think of anything more dull than playing an association with any of today's teams, but hey, i'm an oldie, just my preference.

                        Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

It's a lot, but here it goes..

-When a player calls a play, he should signal something to his teammates. As of right now, the team just reads his mind.

                        -Give the referees whistles.

-Steal attempts on passes shouldn't end with me reaching for a foul. Also, when I'm trying to intercept a pass, don't move me in slow motion, don't make it look like I fell out of a moving car, don't make it look like I'm blind, and don't make me reach where the ball has no chance of going. Seriously.

-Assuming you will be bringing back My Player pickup games, make game 21, win my 2, and no jersey numbers, because really, what's the point of that. Also, no uniforms would be nice, although I wouldn't count on it.

-In My Player mode, like in Association mode, keep all the free agents available until they no longer want to, or are unable to play anymore. I noticed that once the offseason in My Player passes by, and a player, weather young or old, isn't signed anywhere...they disappear.

-I post this every year, but during freethrows, I would like to move around behind the 3-point line, and change spots around the key as well.

-Also, let us be able to do everything the CPU can do.

-And the commentary, don't let the announcers reference things 5-6 years down the line in a mode, MP/association, by sayin, "You know, last year, blah blah blah" if the 'last year' they're talking about is this current 2011-2012 season. It gets quite annoying.

-And with 'Defensive Assist', when I set it to '0', I don't want you help at all on defense from the game, don't move my player at all, for anything. Every year in complaining about this. I know you have to help the CPU and whatnot, but come on 2Ksports, if it's set to '0', it means 'none'. Thank you.

-There should be a 'grab the loose ball' button. I get highly annoyed when my player with a 99 off. Awareness rating doesn't at least try to grab the ball in certain situations. It's extremely irritating.

-Player's hometowns in correlation to if they're playing in or near their hometown in any given game, and have the announcers comment on it.

-Bring back the 'Showtime' camera view. And on the subject of cameras, as I ask 2ksports for this every year, let us practice(preferably in my player mode) on the same camera we play on in-game. It's almost useless to practice moves and whatnot on a different camera angle than the one you play with.

-My Player players still aren't mentioned in the stat overlays that pop up during games. I'm talking about the 'top five' pop ups.

No NBA Blacktop, just burn the idea

-Also, don't let anyone from the opposing team help a player up, I haven't seen that happen all season in real life.

-Keep track of Double, Triple, and Quadrouple doubles, and add that to the 'NBA Records' section.
-Keep track of quarterly points, and quarterly point averages by players during games.
-Keep track of player's average's versus every team during seasons, and the player's career.
-Keep track of player's Career Playoff numbers.
-For the playoffs, keep track of player's Averages for each series.\
-NBA Finals MVP should be chosen on his NBA Finals play alone, not his entire playoff play.
                        -Keep track of all streaks
-In post-game interviews, have reporters ask about my double, and triple-double streaks. It is quite legendary.

-Also, possibly my player pickup game Records.

-Let us play our Arena Music in My Player pickup games, or not, I'll just turn off 2k beats music if we can't play our own music like I did before.

-Take it easy with all those agile moves by the bigmen in the league, not all bigmen do all that twisting and bending in the air.

-Rebounding and blocking shots. Sometimes I press jump(while my player is on the ground ofcourse), and I get no response, nothing, no jump at all. Please fix that

-Better reaction by the defense during fullcourt passes/long passes. Everyone just watches the ball go, and after the catch is made, still they don't really react.

-In My Player Mode, add the fact that our team won into our answers at press conferences. Speaking of press conferences, they should ask us question in the locker room too. Like at our locker/space in the locker room.

-In My Player mode, we should get emails or something of the sort to notify us of any changes made to our team.

-Optional training camp before every season in My Player mode. By optional, I mean we can either play or simulate through.

-As we play more & more My Player Pickup games, we should get reputations, like Star, No-name/Nobody, Superstar, or at least show our average grade, I don't know...

-After a shooting foul, we shoul be able to contest the potential 'and-1' everytime, sometimes the game stops us from contesting, and we can't move.

-While shooting freethrows, have the freethrow shooter get 'encouraged' by all four teammates on the floor.

-If a timeout is called after a momentous occasion, let the teammates react very excited, with jumping into the guy(s) who were on the floor doing good, or the player that just hit a big shot.

-Also, when a home team player is doing well, have him give a courtside seat holder a 'high 5' from time to time, it happens.

-This isn't really an animation, but in timeout huddles right before a potential last possession, let's say towards the end of every quarter, have the coach for the team on offense pretend to draw up a play on an actual clipboard.

-And the mop personnel, there should be at least 2 on each end of the court, and they should run out and mop anytime a player hits the deck, stop play, if it's a cut scene, we can just bypass it if we choose. Alright thNks.

-In real life, if you are a good ball handler, dribbling the ball, and someone is bumping you, you can still put the ball through your legs, behind your back, do spin moves, and all that good stuff, so I don't appreciate how in the game with talented ball handlers, they are stopped momentarily from attempting some sort of isomotion dribble move because of physical play. In 2K13, I would hope this issue is resolved. Thanks.

-When player injure something during a game in either 'Association mode' or 'My Player mode', the game should automatically put on a brace, bandage, or padding where appropriate. They had it in the Fox Sports Nba game a loooong time ago, so try it out, I think it would be a clever new addition. Thanks.

-Off. Awareness should have nothing to do with your ablility to grab the basketball, that makes no sense. Grabbing the loose ball is just your vision, anyone with decent eye sight can grab the ball.

-There are a whole bunch of cool featue from the College Hoops series that I am yet to see in the NBA series, look them up and add them please. Thank you.

-In your "College Hoops" series, you guys gave scouting reports on our opponents, bring that to NBA2K12, but enhance it ofcourse. In 'My Player' mode, give us a scouting report on our matchups(anyone we could end up defending). In 'Association' mode, give up scouting reports for the opposing teams and players. Yall kind of did it in 'Draft Combine' last year with John Wall, Evan Turner, Wes Johnson, etc., but I'd like the scouting reports in writing, just to be clear, and make them available during the actual games.

-To add on the making MP pickups game 21(win by 2), no game timer, no shot clock and if someone is fouled, his team just takes the ball out, no freethrows, 3-pointers count as 2-pointers, and 2-pointers count as 1 point. Again, just a thought. Make is look like the players are calling the calls on the MP pickup games or insert referees.

-No more automatically slowing down and speeding up players, the only time I should slow down or speed up is if I'm either pressing or not pressing turbo, thanks.

ok i love nba 2k12 for pc but i think we should have more please 2k make it DIFFERENT from the rest i mean make this game as if it was your last
                          here is my wishlist

                          1) You should have your own voice and more hairstyles and tattoos like Full sleeve or something

                          2) Be able to be a top 5 pick or be the first overall pick. It depends though if you have a good showcase, also there should be the Nike hoops summit and if you do well or really good it will determine were you will go including the interviews.

                          3) There should be more interviews( before games, during time outs, halftime and after) also interviews during your non playing days therefore there should be a calendar.

                          4) Better teammate AI, I get frustrated when my teammates make stupid mistakes.

                          5) able to change jerseys, also more endorsements with nike, adidas, etc.

                          6) In the offseason see what the team is doing because in 2k12 you cant. Also when you become the best player on the team they ask you what player you would prefer your team to draft.

                          7) REALISTIC TRADES! I get tired seeing the worst trades. Also when a star is in free agency if he is happy he will stay but if he is mad he Will leave to a realistic team not the bucks lol.

                          8) All star game if your good at ducking you could be in the funk contest and if your good at threes you could be in the three point competition also add the team shaq team Chuck game in the break.

                          9) your contract money could go in a house or a car etc.

                          10) this one will sound really unrealistic but add twitter and facebook. After each game you will tweet and if it is a bad tweet popularity goes down and vise versa, more popularity more followers and on Facebook more popularity more likes. You have a section and it is called the media section and you can tweet and go on FB but you want go on all the time you have to buy tweets in order to tweet but you still sweet after every game. Lets say dwight howard goes to the nets or mavericks you post it on Facebook and twitter saying congrats to my man dwight on the big trade.

                                My player wishlist

Jumping- Way too often your player appears to be jumping for nothing when going for a rebound. Same with jumping on defense. Im tired of jumping only to see my guy fly beyond the shooter like he has no idea that im trying to contest/block a shot.

Boxing out- other people have mentioned this, but im tired of all 5 guys on defense boxing out immediately after your team shoots. Then there is point guards that box out as effectively as centers. It's just too unrealistic.

I won't mention shooting too much because so many other people have talked about it, but the constant 3's raining down on my team reguardless of who shoots it is ridiculous. Blake Griffin should not be hitting 3's.

And again, as you have read before, the dribbling off a teammates random body part and losing the ball is just something that doesn't happen in the nba very often. And im tired of seeing poor dribbling positions (pf/c) just lose the ball because they get bodied.
