Rubio will be a good player, but he still needs time to develope. I watched just about all of his games this season and last, his game is too inconsistent at times.

        Re: Rubioooo!!!!!!!!!

Dude his rating is fine. For anyone thats played a deep association trust me your dream comes true as his potentiol is like a 90 somethin.I dropped it to a 80 in my roster.

As far as bein one of the greats i say pull back the reins on that one.Doesnt matter what he's done in Spain this is the NBA.In Spain he doesnt have to go up against D.Rose,Chris Paul,Deron Williams,Rajon Rondo etc every night. This is a HUGE step up in competition.

Let a year or so go by then we can really pass fair judjement on the kid but for now i say 2k did just fine.

ok rubio is not great at offense or defense, so you're not going to see the overall rating go up. he has a high PASS rating in 2K12, what more can you ask for??

and to the Rubio naysayers. I tell you this. this kids special, he's been special. and now he is gracing America with his specialness. He has IT. And he has a lot of IT. Larry Bird-like feel for the game, Jason Williams type flair. We are all witnesses. Get on board or get left behind the Rubio train. He will be better than Nash because in year 1 of his NBA career, he already is a better passer.

I've been dominating with Rubio online. He gets around 20 assists for me. The Wolves are fun to use

I know this thread is ridiculous, but Rubio did really control the entire flow of that heat game. He has some of the best court vision I've ever seen. Granted he's 21, and still makes alot of bad decisions, and isnt a great shooter or finisher, his court vision and ability to dictate the flow and rythym of a game is phenomenal.

I was at the heat game, and when he lobbed that oop to randolph there was a collective "Who the hell is he throwing that to?" moment for everyone there, even the heat players on D. He was running the opposite direction, never glanced at randolph, and throws a perfect oop.

I don't think he'll ever be great, but a flashier, better scoring less defensive rondo is what I can see him becoming.

                        Re: Rubioooo!!!!!!!!!

I just want to chime in with some stats here... because as much as i believe Ricky Rubio can be a special player at PG, he's not there yet, nor is he even close to the level of Steve nash, or any other elite pg for that matter..

Through three games this season, which is a TINY sample size... Ricky Rubio has an assist/turnover ratio of 2.7. that's actually pretty good. Now, you have to take that with a grain of salt seeing as he's only played three games in the league. Steve Nash holds a Career AST:TO of 3.0, and at his best, was 3.22. Chris Paul, for comparison's sake, has one of 4.0 for career and 4.6 at his best.

going into Rubio's Euroleague stats (this is strictly Euroleague, and doesn't include other competitions like the olympics) his FG% is 39.7%, with a 3PTFG% is a horrid 27.6%. If i remember correctly, the 3pt line is closer overseas also, so that makes this number even more alarming. Steve Nash holds Career FG% of 48.8% and 3PT% of 42.9%. I'm not even going to give his season bests, because it's not necessary.

Both players are marginal defenders, with rubio having time to get better of course. But the stats speak for themselves about this, Ricky Rubio does not equal Steve nash. Not only does Nash have a resume in his corner, he has a better AST:TO ratio and better shooting percentages.

a 67, i believe, is a comfortable rating for Rubio at this point in his career, because he doesn't have score-at-will ability, nor does he have shutdown defender capability. Rubio is, as of right now, a great passer, and a spark for an offense because of it. but some of his passes are errant (watch him overthrow lobs and miss passes while playing for MIN, it happens.) and he has plenty of room to improve with the rest of his game.

*note- i couldn't find TO stats for euroleague play, not sure what his ratio is overseas.

How high SHOULD Rubio be rated?

I'm thinking just one point ahead of where he is now (68) based on his passing skills alone.

Like everyone else mentioned, he has a LONG way to go.

What's funny, though, is if you run 10 seasons of association mode into the future, he gets up to 94 overall.
