I don't know but if it's a deposit it's even a better deal. If people wanna play 2K13 as soon as possible I see no reason why not put down a deposit and get it on release day.

I'm pretty sure it's a deposit (I think you can even pay the full price if you want).

      CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz

I live in Sweden and you had to put down a minimum amount (around $7) to pre order. I paid half the cost of the game when I pre ordered which means they will take off half the price when I finally go and pick it up.

        That's a pretty good deal

I'm pretty sure after the game releases, eventually All-Star Weekend will be a DLC for a small fee. The casual potential paying customer (who isn't anticipating the release as much as we are) whom would catch wind of All-Star Weekend DLC after the game releases and goes viral won't be counted out if there is a profit to be made. When there is a demand for All-Star weekend from those who bought the game after or on release day, it will be there. You'll just have to pay for it.

It will most probably be a DLC that you get a code for in the box. As of right now, as has been written multiple times in this thread, the only way to get ASW is to pre order the game and pick it up on release day.

            Why take the chance?
Because by waiting a month and some change I save about $30.

That's fair but you do take a risk in not getting ASW, if indeed this will be the only way to get it.

If they release it as a DLC later on, which I would do if I were the company, It'll probably cost around $10 or so.

Personally; waiting until October 2nd is long enough. I wouldn't be able to wait any longer so that's why I preordered

                Exactly, well said.

This is 2K ($$$$$$) we are talking about, of course this will be released as a DLC.

I don't really care about this mode but I'm going to order this game anyways later this week. But even if I ordered this game 1-2 months after the official release in Europe I would still get the code, 100% positive.

Already have my copy pre-ordered so I'm not worried about it. However I don't see 2k passing on releasing this as DLC a few months after release. People will pay for it, and 2k won't miss out on charging $5 for it.
