Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
I'm pretty sure after the game releases, eventually All-Star Weekend will be a DLC for a small fee. The casual potential paying customer (who isn't anticipating the release as much as we are) whom would catch wind of All-Star Weekend DLC after the game releases and goes viral won't be counted out if there is a profit to be made. When there is a demand for All-Star weekend from those who bought the game after or on release day, it will be there. You'll just have to pay for it.Comment

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
From what I understand it's only a $5 fee for pre ordering in the US so why take the chance of not getting ASW?
It will most probably be a DLC that you get a code for in the box. As of right now, as has been written multiple times in this thread, the only way to get ASW is to pre order the game and pick it up on release day.
Why take the chance?GT: assassinK24Comment

That's fairbut you do take a risk in not getting ASW, if indeed this will be the only way to get it.
If they release it as a DLC later on, which I would do if I were the company, It'll probably cost around $10 or so.
Personally; waiting until October 2nd is long enough. I wouldn't be able to wait any longer so that's why I preorderedWhat we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
Either way, if pre-ordering truly is the only way to acquire the All-Star Weekend, it feels like a terrible strategy in terms of providing a full gaming experience. There has to be oodles and oodles of consumers who either don't know they need to pre-order in order to acquire an awesome portion of the game or can't pre-order, and to think they'll all miss out on something like that is a little unfortunate.Lol, people get enjoyment from their game in different ways. Why they enjoy one thing over another is not really important. --trobinson97Comment

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
This is 2K ($$$$$$) we are talking about, of course this will be released as a DLC.
I don't really care about this mode but I'm going to order this game anyways later this week. But even if I ordered this game 1-2 months after the official release in Europe I would still get the code, 100% positive.Comment

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
The All-Star add-on content is ONLY available if you pre-order the game (which you can do here: http://2kgam.es/NBA2KStore)
From the Kotaku article:
<table style="margin-top:5px;margin-bottom:5px;width:90%;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tbody><tr> <td> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td width="75"> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="50"> <tbody><tr> <td width="37"></td> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/07.gif');width:1px;height:24px;background-position:center;" valign="middle" width="100%"> Quote:</td> <td>
</td> </tr> </tbody></table> </td> <td align="left">
</td> <td align="right" width="100%"> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td width="100%"> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/11.gif');width:100%;height:24px;" width="100%">
</td> <td align="left"></td> </tr> </tbody></table> </td> </tr> </tbody></table> </td> </tr> </tbody></table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/04.gif');width:37px;height:1px;" width="37">
</td> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/00.gif');width:100%;height:1px;" width="100%">
</td> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/05.gif');width:18px;height:1px;" width="18">
</td> </tr> <tr> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/04.gif');width:37px;height:1px;" width="37">
</td> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/00.gif');width:100%;height:1px;" width="100%"> And if you don't preorder the game, your play-now and career modes will still have an All-Star game, it'll just use the previous year's venue and uniforms (in this case, Orlando's) until the All-Star game is actually played and 2K gets permission to patch in the new skins.
</td> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/05.gif');width:18px;height:1px;" width="18">
</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="37"></td> <td style="background-image: url('/vBulletin/images/quotes/02.gif');width:100%;height:14px;" width="100%">
</td> <td width="18"></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>
Thank you for re-stating this. I assume that this will be the case for PC users, no matter what, correct?Comment

But wait... I live in EU and won't be able to pre-order my Xbox360 version because of the region codes. How do I get the ASW at launch?Success is temporary - Loyalty means forever

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
Already have my copy pre-ordered so I'm not worried about it. However I don't see 2k passing on releasing this as DLC a few months after release. People will pay for it, and 2k won't miss out on charging $5 for it.If flopping was rewarded in real life as it is in the NBA, I’d swerve into guard rails each time someone changed lanes in front of me. - Alan HahnComment
