Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Lol.. It’s soo funny how people have the game and have completely different experiences.
For me I loved the game at first, but the more I get into it the more I am starting to dislike.
Pros – As others has said, the presentation, graphics, animations, movement everything about that arena of this is excellent. The best to date period. A lot of the positives have been focused on so I will discuss my cons
Cons – This game is starting to become more arcade than sim for me… (FYI My mode of play will be 90% offline association, until then just play now). Wayyyyy too many fast breaks from the CPU… no matter the team (Or changes I make) it seems after everyone defensive rebound they are off the races. The constant run and gun is why I am forced to play on 8/9 min quarters to get realistic stats vs 12 minute quarters… Also the CPU almost never plays through the post.. even with a talented post player… It’s all about crossing players up and jump shots in this game for the CPU. This is Great for selling to the masses, but not great if you want to play Sim Ball with the CPU like I enjoy.
Offline association, I did not mind them not giving the mode any update, but I was hoping that all major bugs would be fixed… seems like the got about 1 or two but that’s it… Team building still questionable at times, Big man 3’s still in the game, Player progression is still broke (Well I will not say broke I will say maybe player potential is too high so this maybe a rating issue), Draft classes are still wack, playbooks and coaching profiles are off… All the things for Sim players I am just finding to be neglected. I mean it’s okay to not add to the mode, but at least fix all the major known bugs!
Which leads to my overall conclusion… This is a GREAT game for the masses (Non-Sim community). I think the Sim community is only a very tiny portion of their revenues, as such we are neglected. Looking at the offline bugs that were not fixed, and the changes that makes it harder on the people here who mod/fix the game to give us the the realism we strive for tells me that we are not a priority. Honestly I can’t see myself playing multiple 58 game seasons with some of these arcade like gameplay that cannot be fixed..SLIDERS SUCKComment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
I played the Spurs and Parker and Ginobili were torching me with all kinds crazy shots in the paint, but it didn't even bother me because they actually looked like shots they would make in real life...the Spurs are maybe the hardest team i've faced yet - Parker cuts through the lane like a knife through butter, Ginobili is money from just about anywhere, and their defense is stifling.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
pretty much any shot near the hoop is money...i'm torn on whether this is good or bad. in the the real NBA, if a guy gets the ball right under the hoop, it's pretty much money. so i guess the game is just replicating the NBA in a sense.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
I agree blues. with this game, you have to do your defensive work early, even if it means using the right analog stick to push people around in the block off ball. if a player gets the ball down low, it should be a bucket more often than not. so far my defense on the perimeter and my work in denying post entry passes has kept me competitive, both on and offline.PSN: PrettyToneyComment

I'm ****ing addicted to this game already.
Again if you play with the right people, learn the dribble controls and the post moves you're in for a treat. ME and my sim heads ballin on HOF sim.
Only problem with the game is rebounding, wayyyyy to much offensive rebounds.Add me om PSN for a good game of basketball!

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Definitely too many offensive rebounds. But ive noticed something that Im doing wrong that may be contributing. I have been challenging with my bigs way too often. This has been leaving them out of position for rebounds. the animations for blocks play out more slowly than past 2k's, which is good. Someone who commits to trying to make a block should be out of the play momentarily. When im more selective with my block attempts my rebounds are better. Just something ive noticed, about the way im used to playing 2k.
I also try to box out and manually grab all my rebounds, I noticed I do jump a tad bit to early.Add me om PSN for a good game of basketball!

Yes, REALLY enjoying this game--the small nuances (running back on D and seeing my mans head look back to see where ball is....looking @ replay and seeing facial expression slightly change/mouth open)...
Have gotten a couple gms in against lobby Chum--so/so--but it plays great..very smooth~~did notice the Offensive rebounds getting out of hand so i made a point to box out myself instead of letting cp do it..
and i thought Madden took a Jump...this version of 2k i'd say Trumps it...**if it Bleeds, i can kill it**

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Playing on All-Star sim, 12 min qtrs, no sliders.
The more games I play the more frustrating it becomes.
Points in the paint. Interior passing. Offensive rebounding. All too much.
The game gets things half right. For instance, the Celtics are a poor rebounding team but, the Raptors aren't a good offensive rebounding team yet, they kill the C's with second chance points. If a defender has to help, the offensive player should go get position under the board. They get that part right. What doesn't happen is the defensive teams players should all rotate down. They don't. Half right. So, if KG has to help because DeRozen beats Pierce off the dribble, Gray goes right under the basket but Bass doesn't rotate down. You get DeRozen to miss but, the ball never even takes an off bounce. It vacuums straight from the rim to Gray for the put back.
If you're contesting an outside shot, it sucks to know you did your job only to see one of the cpu players (oftentimes a guard) standing at the rim between two of your bigs. You don't really have time to switch to attempt a box out so, you just have to helplessly watch as their guard gets the board.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
C'mon man. Another example. Just happened. Me Celtics, cpu Raptors.
Lowry drives. I cut him off with Rondo. Lowry goes into a Euro lay up. Completely cut off. Aaron Gray runs in the way bringing KG with him. 4 players all bunched together while Lowry is attempting a Euro step. What happens? Lowry magically passes through Rondo and KG out of a lay up to Gray for a dunk.
No bueno.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Anyone else think the shot release is off? I'm talking about My Player as I haven't played a Play Now yet.
I've released my shot in what looks like a nice and smooth release, only for it to be 'early' and the actual shot release they want looks off..a little glitch in the release... a bit.Comment
