Oh and the fastbreak???? It has never been better than this. No more worrying about being caught from behind. 2K must of took last year off. How could this game a year later play like this??? In bowling when someone is trying to start the season with a low average we call it SANDBAGGING.

      Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

Last impression of the day for me...

The only negative that i could possibly force myself to have about this game is the HEAVY Jay Z influence. Mind you, I am a Huge Jay Z fan and it's all perfect for me. But my biasness aside, his presence is kind of forced upon you. If hip hop, or Jay Z particularly, isn't your thing, be prepared to listen to your own music. You can always just skip it with the press of a button as well. Minor issue if you ask me.

With 2Kshare coming up, the missing rookies, teams, shoes, will be up in no time. This game is for sim heads while forcing casuals to learn to play the right way. Or lose. The Choice Is Yours. **rapist voice that raped Chris Hansen on Boondocks**

For the last couple of months, I've been pissed at LD2K for teasing us with his .gifs knowing he has played the game and it's killing us inside to play. And for the last 3 days, I know exactly how he felt. I can't wait for you guys to get your hands on this game.

No need to say any more. You guys will have it at midnight!
      JOIN ME IN 2K HEAVEN!!!

Here are my stats playing on All Star Sim. 12 min qtrs. Lowered Game speed to 47. Critique as you see fit.

The game online is NOT for Sim heads. They run around crazy moving the right stick all around until they get into the lane and dunk or lay it up. That's all I'm seeing thus fast with only 20 people online

I agree. The 4th qtr they were jacking it up trying to get back in the game.

Playing vs weaker teams/rookies you can no doubt tell. Lol. This yrs all star plays like it

15-20 of those PIP came from Nash getting beat off the dribble out on the perimeter:wink: and I'm not joking

You guys gotta remember this is "1" GAME, "1" GAME. I could play this game all over again and the stats would be totally different. Trust each game plays out differently

                Playing Celtics/Thunder in OK City...

Just cannot accent how great the *contact* is around the basket:

**big men vs little men (mismatches) are a great thing to watch play out.

**the AI tries to draw charges down low (flops w/a scream) ...great to see & hear!!!

**the BLOCKS....is just a dream to see...realistic as it gets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                **fluidity....just fun to watch.

(I spend way to much damn time watching replays of this damn game, because the animations are just so fun to watch...) - another reason they need to FIX gametrack.

FYI - There was an update when I loaded the game up today...don't know what it's all about...

Also, the AI allows 88 points in the paint? Obviously you know how to play the game, but in a true simulation that should simply not happen that often, regardless of how good the player is.

Now I know Denver dropped like 90 in the paint on the Raptors, but the league average is roughly between 30-50 PIP per game.

I hardly see the AI playing much midrange game using off ball screens. I feel like PGs are a bit too aggressive driving to the basket. Maybe the 'run plays' slider has to be set higher, will test that.
For me I don't expect the game to be 100 % what I see in a Nba game i expect Video Games to resemble what i see. I don't go tic for tac on everything when it comes to video games. If some do that's there choice. If rebounds/assist are off from the NBA average?? Oh well, but that's just me. I just try and enjoy my purchase and if i don't i sell and move on. My impression is this game is as Sim as it get IMO

I don't think so flight. The Pip is define itely an issue. No matter who. Guards with high attack ratio gs and high penetrate ratings are just prone to vetting g in the paint to score. The Ai is also very good at finding the cutters and being patient. Looking for the open man and high percentage shot. I'm trying desperately to find a slider solution to this. Its tough because the dribble moves are so powerful.

Well I think that goes without saying...online is usually pretty bad. Last year I got a bunch of OS guys on my friend list and it made the game enjoyable....As for impressions, I suck at impressions compared to what these guys are writing. I will say the control is a lot better and the right stick control is great to me once you get the hang of it and practice it more. I was able to string together some slick moves with Austin Rivers and get in the lane for a few layups. It wasn't cheesy though...they brought back the jumpshot feedback online so I like that a lot. I have a busy life and don't have time to practice with every team and learn everyone's jumpshot so I rely on the feedback at first. The gameplay overall is a lot better and I'm glad people can't spam the steal button. I was able to get a few steals but they were legit strips.

With that being said, the first patch should definitely address boxing out/offensive rebounds. I mean I played 5 games online and i think 4 were against the Lakers. Now I didn't match up with them...I did use the Bobcats and the Hornets but it seemed like every shot they missed, either Howard or Gasol got the rebound and put up an easy layup...which led to their team catching fire...which led to me missing easy layups and wide open shots(the dreaded 2k momentum swing) and eventually led to me losing by about 20 points each time. No, I'm not a 2k elite player but I can usually hold my own...yes, I tried calling timeouts to slow them down...yes, i understand I used the Bobcats and the Hornets BUT these guys were missing easy point blank layups during those runs and wide open jump shots. My advice is unless you are a hardcore 2k player or you match LA with a team like Miami, Boston, etc...if your opponent picks the Lakers, put it in reverse and back out because you won't stand a chance. Plus I like to play with different teams because I'm sure people get tired of playing the same teams every time. 5 games...4 against the Lakers. If they get the box out/offensive rebound fixed, I will have very few complaints. Oh yeah, defensive players will like the way you can defend this year. I had MKG on Kobe and he actually slowed him down...not shut him down...but slowed him down. But as for right now playing on-ball D may be something you want to reconsider unless you don't mind giving up a ton of offensive rebounds.

AI gets caught in too many picks. Just used the Rockets and KMart got an open look everytime i ran a play for him..

I've been playing for two hours or so and the game is great out the box IMO.
I play with sim sliders on allstar. Default is good but sim is better for me.
I also changed intense d, to always on the controller settings.Even though it kind of feels like cheating, it helps out alot on defense... believe me.
