Much better to me. Teams play like their real life counterparts. But I will say if you're facing a team like the Spurs, tony Parker will relentlessly drive against you if you don't play good D. So far they're playing like the Spurs though.

Lots of 3s and a good in and out game.

My only nitpick about this game so far is that they don't have the Nets' Full Roster and are still missing Teletovic, Taylor and Shengaila. Only thing holding me back from playing a game with them.

Back to Practice/Training Camp I go, lol.

EDIT: Also forgot to add, why do they keep putting a Calf Sleeve on Deron? He hasn't worn that since he's been a Net.

I'm not liking the controls on the three point contest. Seems really laggy

Played two games on all star sim, rebounding is definitely an issue particularly offensive. Perhaps just an issue of my own.

Left out Blatche too, I think, while also leaving Donte Greene there.

            Rosters being updated this weekend.

              Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

after all the anticipation, i know alot of folks prolly like to jump right in and get the hands wet; but 4 the 1st day or so i like to just watch the cpu play the cpu.

so ive been doing that all day (pro-sim/allstar-sim) and one of the things that i was noticing (that i did not like) was that i felt the cpu was doing way too much dribbling. i mean everyone was tryna be and-1 i felt. and as a result i felt the offense didnt have much of a real flow to it.

not gonna lie i was kinda worried (and maybe i still am) because i mostly play against the cpu.

but then i did something i never did b4 and i put the game on hof-sim. and its like the cpu players said aight time to get down to business. the cpu cut out all that crazy dribbling and went to straight professional effecient dribbling. not 1950's but dribbling how pros do in the real games on tv. only whats needed to get to where they needed to go.

so im excited about that lil discovery, but i just have one question is HOF the equivalent to ALL-Madden difficulty in user vs cpu games. i mean when you really think about it the cpu cant cheat itself. basically what im asking is is HOF actually playable for a long-haul association or is it just an exercise in frustration?

i usually just play games on pro w/ sliders (maybe allstar), so im not 1 of those ppl who needs to play on HOF for ego, i just wanna get the best experience and atleast from cpu vs cpu, HOF is clearly the best experience.

anyone else take notice to this and do other folks play against the cpu on hof-sim default and actually enjoy it?

Hope they update their Practice Uniforms also since they're still wearing their NJ Gear.

                  Quick early impressions:

                  - As others have said, there's an almost startling difference between the demo and the retail version

                  - Animations are absolutely crazy; I love all of the contact that occurs. On any given play or you may see players trying to fight through screens and contorting their upper body, to just regular contact when you bump or run into someone. Or you may see someone fall or try to catch their balance from being bumped or their momentum carrying them. I thought last year's movement took a noticeable leap from the previous year, but this year it seems they went several levels beyond last year. Player interaction/movement is superb

                  - Still so-so on the Control Stick. I was able to go into Freestyle practice mode and see the ridiculous array of moves you can pull off - even more amazing that they're context-and-player specific - but hard for me to pull them off intuitively right now. With K12 I was really good at pulling off drives and knowing the timing of how to finish whether left/right or whatever. Haven't gotten that with the Control Stick yet. Need more time practicing

                  - The Presentation is very in your face, but I like it overall. The variable intros spliced with in-game footage are fantastic. The live shots of cities are fantastic. I've found myself several times getting caught up in the soundtrack, although the songs are pretty chopped up because of bleeping out the harsh words. It does seem kinda loud so may turn it down some. There's so much going it's easy to overlook the improvements to the commentary, which was already top-notch

                  - So many little things...
i'm not a troll. yea, almost every single post of mine is about crew, that doesn't mean i'm a troll though. i said i wouldn't buy it, but i wanted to see what my player pickup would be like, and saw it ended up being a huge fail.
oh well, i'll probably only end up losing 10 bucks on it.

As fast and responsive as the dribble moves are with the control stick, the post game just seems so slow and clunky, especially with shooting with the right stick now being relegated to a modifier. Guys in the NBA don't need 5 secs to execute a post move, but that's the way it seems right now.

                      Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

I rented this anyway to test something out. Not buying due to the all-star pre-order shenangians,I won't support that.

It's rather fantastic gameplay and presentation wise. Pretty sure there was lots of new commentary but last year was just a rental too.

It seemed to come down with a bit of NHLitis when the AI just decides they're going to get a dunk/layup and that's it. It was the fault of my AI teammates becoming statues, about 3-4 times in that game the opposing AI just blew by them with 0 effort for a dunk/layup. Other than that I wanted to buy it after playing one game but remembered why I'm not going to in the first place.

Actually getting an appropriate ammount of fouls this year and my first game was 8 minutes winning 82-74 so clearly need to play on 10.

Default controls were awful, fine once it was changed back.

but they announced the myplayer 3 on 3 before the game was released, so why'd you buy it?

i thought the 3 on 3 was only the private games, while the regular would be 10 people. also i didn't know how bad the 3 on 3's would be. felt like i was playing some cartoon game or something, not even close to the 2k11 feel.

This game is the GOAT. Everything is great about it. Don't even need to tweak the Simulation sliders, feels PERFECT.

Impressed by the ALLstar game festivities. They add a lot to the game actually. Cool funny commentary by kevin harlan too. Really feels special to be honest.
