This is the Year of the casuals as this game caters to it big time so far in my findings

What made you pick the game up? You had pretty much negative feedback across the board in regards to the demo...

Man 2k really really needs to look at rebounding first and foremost....it's a crapshoot rebounding the ball...

            xbox 360
            Allstar
            simulation
            8 minutes qrts
            sample size: 8 games
            (all vs the AI)

            1. presentations are really the best i have seen in a sports game the match up intros with the videos are very impressive
            2. blocking/charging calls are perfect and really makes positioning on the court matters on defense and offense( was looking for the slider never found it i guess its a thing of the pass cause there is no need for it)
            3. stats overlay and end of game summaries are very welcoming for a stats guy like me..love the stats of lead changes and ties during the game and they biggest margin of points teams were up by and possessions by time for each team....brilliant
            4. atmosphere in the stadiums are real nice
            5. commentating is not of this world its a very smooth flow to the chatter among the 4 of them(sideline doris burke) and they call the action with different tones that set the mood for big plays and urgent situations for a team to score......and gone are they annoying announcers calling ur defensive change as u do it..u know "and they change to full court press" and ruin the surprise element to try to pull on ur buddy
            6. contact animations are just so implemented nicely and plays out well in the pain and mid air

            • dribbling with the right stick and using the modifier to shoot is not a natural motion that need some real getting used to...( i know u can change it in the settings but will give it another 8 game or so then make a decision with a bigger sample size)
            • players tend to be standing wide open and when i pass the ball to them they start moving into traffic
            • pass fake (double tapping A) is ok but was better with a dedicated button like 2k12...would be nice to see in future iteration while moving and doing a pass fake would make u pick up the ball and start a 1-2 step
Humans fear what they dont understand, hate what they cant concur i guess its just the theory of man

              Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

Just played my first game. Played online against OKC as the Jazz, and I stuck with him until the 4th quarter when KD started going off. Then I made the mistake of trying to press them. They were just too fast and too athletic for me to keep up with them. I really like how they made sure that Utah's strength was in the half-court. Hayward made some pretty sick shots too!

                Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

Gameplay: is great for the most my only complaints so far would be points in the paint and rebounding. This game completely blurs the line between watching a game on a TV and playing a game on TV. They nailed the signatures down like I have never seen before in any game. So many small details are done correctly.

Controls: first thing I did was go into practice freestyle turn on shot quality feedback didn't do training camp yet but I actually like the controls using the control stick.

Difficulty: I have been playing the same difficulty as last year All-Star Sim. What I noticed it is harder to keep the CPU out of the paint for two reasons it is too easy to pass inside and your teammates help too late most times. It is a little easier to get to the paint for the user as well. All of games of the 12 minute variety scores are just too high and the points in the paint are too high. I think it is combination of being able to get passes into the paint too easily and the rebounding. I may look to sliders but I think I need to bring some of the sliders down. I actually run a pretty patient offense and use plays and I am scoring too much.

Rebounding: The offensive rebounding seems to be a problem which is making the PIP go way up. It is not the total number offensive rebounds that are the problem for me, it is location of the rebound and the ability for the CPU to just go back up for an easy score. Most teams in the NBA get around 10 OREB/game so if you are around that then you are ok. They need to change the location of the rebounds to not all be right in front of the basket when you can just do an easy quick dunk. The CPU is killing me with this. There are hardly any OREBS that require a reset It happens too often.

Dunking: The dunks look so releastic but too many non elite dunkers are dunking too much off of standing probably a slider thing so I can adjust on my own.

                  Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread

So far I am really liking this game, My biggest beef still remains that 2K refuses to fix it's player shooting tendencies that still half work. It really ruins the immersion of playing against some teams. I just played two games against the 76ers and Royal Ivey was playing like he was possessed with the spirit of Kobe Bryant, while Andrew Bynum took a total of 3 shots in two 9 minute quarter games. This is the same kind of ridiculous stuff that used to happen with NBA 2K12. I even played with the coaching and gameplay sliders, and Bynum is still virtually nonexistent. I just don't understand why this is something that is so hard for 2K to get right.

With that being said, this is still a very very good game to play online against like-minded people, and it can get even better if this above issue was somehow FINALLY rectified. I'd probably never stop playing Association mode if I knew that all of the high level players would consistently play the way they should be playing.

Quoted for truth. This entire year of build-up and development has been Sales and Marketing 101. Find, target, and reach your largest customer segment and let everyone else fall where they may.

Online and Casual Gamers = Winners. Not everyone else is a loser in the equation, but they took a page out of EA's playbook with this one as far as alienating the offline hardcore gamer.

From what I've been seeing teams play more like their real life counter parts on pro level than allstar

U haven't played enough if u think nothing is wrong with rebounding. Teammates still suck at boxing out and when u box out the CPU slides pass u most of the time and gets the rebound.
