First impressions after a few games.

I'm not sold just yet.

They nailed the Celtics style of play and overall sense of animations.

Rondo Mug is horrible. They added new skin textures but did not do many faces over?

Kevin Durant still does not look like himself.

They added the ability to now tweak player speed slider on play now games.

John Wall's movement fits the new dribbling style/animations

Even with the drive to the basket slider all the way down points guard who should drive DRIVE. Nice

I have a new name for this game... JayZ13. Thanks to the presentation aspect. Its seriously like a JayZ mod for PC.

Don't like the fact you can not upload sliders. but that's me I know some on here could care less about even using sliders.

GREAT GREAT use of adboards.

Blacktop is is literally 10 parks away from being a new more streetball NBAStreet...Make it happen 2k!

Heres a headscratcher for you

In blacktop mode, the top players on each team require VC to play as(or unlock to play as)

Im baffled. 2K wants to encourage microtransactions i guess.
Oh and you cannot let the AI play itself in 1 v 1.
1 step forward(making up for the step backwards last year) and then another step backwards.

I LOVE THIS GAME. THE NETS HAVE THEIR NEW JERSEY UNIFORMS IN THE GAME.

Cons:
Nets practice uniforms need to be updated
Bobcats aswell

One thing that disapoints me is that they seemed to have taken away the highlight reel and press reel at the end of the game. I enjoyed watching that after the game. Now all they have is the player of the game.....

Yo, I may be trippin, but damn, I dont think so. I cant create any off ball contact after whatever update the game just had. I dont think this was a issue before I got off work and I have had it since Sat.

Oh yeah, the game is playing completely different now and thats in a negative way, there is barely any contact going on at all off the dribble (not in the paint).


Dude, forget dribble moves, there is no contact AT ALL off the ball. Nobody is being bumped right now bro. I tried to body up as a user off the ball and I could not connect with anyone, now I see no body contact off the ball by the cpu.

anyone else want to comment on this?

Lost Nuggets (me) at Lakers by 6, but the last minute was a lot of desperation. Mostly a two to four point game. Dwight Howard was the difference, and me trying to get off jumpers with Ty Lawson like I could in 2K12. Pull up J's might be discounted a little with certain players this year. But good offense isn't. I lost because the Lakers had a monster and a more than capable sidekick (Gasol) locking down the paint. I don't expect that would happen every time.

So far nothing but praise for the online portion. Time to hit the training gym for this control stick business.


@ the post above, I would say that is all his own experience, contact plays a major factor in this game. There was not one point, other than some random ball clipping, where I thought the game was gypping me. It's a seriously great play out of the box, user vs. user online. I can't wait to see what the rest of the game is like.

MyPlayer/MyCareer definitely got next to no attention. Same hairstyles, tattoos, etc. Anyone figured out how to add accessories to your player? Can't seem to find that anywhere. Rookie showcase and post game interviews for it are the exact same. Pretty sure the dialogue hasn't changed at all. Oh and did they forget to add +1 attributes to the gold completion of drills? What is my motivation for doing any other drill besides dribble course now that you get no extra bonus from getting on that drill?

wow this is pissing me off. played knicks twice online and melo was making every single shot. also the knicks were getting excessive amounts of offensive rebounds it was extremely annoying to not be able to rebound at all.

Took me some time to figure it out... man I was pissed also. Don't worry bro', just press x or square on ps3 for highlights in box score. Also you can press x or square for the directer cut on replays.:wink:

Durant is unstoppable, the Spurs are hard to beat. I played them three times back to back untill I won. First two games against the Spurs was blowouts, 15 and 25 point loses. I'm the Celtics and Garnet gets tired quick. So C's fans take note and make subs accordingly.

Where is this insight you speak of? I'm going off of what I see playing it. I did figure out the accessory thing but the other stuff I said still stands. Not sure if I am going to enjoy this mode as much as I used to with all these weird changes.

Did training camp and played one game, Knicks (me) @ Nets. Some brief observations:

-Saw CPU double teams. Not sure if it was them just mixing it up on D or doubling because my players were hot. JR Smith was pretty hot in the 1st quarter and then I saw my first double. Melo was soft doubled in the post a couple times, DWill cheated off Felton to do so. I was 0/3 from 3 with Felton, so smart double.

-Reggie Evans. He only finished with 4 pts and 5 rebs, but he made his presence felt. He had 4 ORBs and grabbed a few my guys should have got, but didn't put a body on him.

-CPU has an inbetween game finally. That was one thing that was absent from 2k12 but in 2k11. You see the CPU pull up from midrange instead of going all the way to the basket, you see fadeaways and drifters.

-Reggie Evans got hurt on a rebound. He tipped it (Camby snatched it) and came down limping. I didn't notice it until replay because the game didn't stop. I went in transition and got a dunk, then the commentators mentioned it and the camera panned to Evans back at the other end. Live injuries >>>.

-Also had a play with Evans guarding Melo. Melo took him one on one and pulled up for a contested J over him and sank it. Evans played near perfect D and upon seeing the ball go thru the net, he covered his face and then threw his hands up in frustration.

I wish my body wasn't telling me to sleep.

One thing that impressed me is just how much you don't know until you do the training camp. Seriously, if you haven't done it yet, I suggest you do. There are so many other moves I never knew about, and you learn the game better so take the time to do so...Plus you unlock something. :wink:

Played a blacktop game for shiggles. Don't know how many of yall venture into this mode but I always liked playing it as a change-up and chance to channel my inner Hot Sauce.

Anyway, there's been changes made in this mode finally. There's different times of the day for one. First game I backed out of it was night, the next game it was dusk. Secondly, NO MORE BLACK AND WHITE GENERIC UNIS. Players wear their respective team uni, which makes me wonder if they've finally added that to the Rookie challenge. Thirdly, there's commentary, there's a streetball announcer, maybe the same guy from last years Legends DLC.

On the downside there's still very little options. Any game 3-on-3 or less has to be played half court. No changing that to full. Also no adjusting the scoring, all games to 21. And some players cost VC to play with, it appears to be star players. You can play with lesser guys.

First game ever was a Random Quick Team Up. The game was REALLY smooth. No problems server side. Game wise, I can't complain. We, as the Nets, handled the Lakers all game. A lot of players quit leaving just me as Deron and a SF player versus Steve Nash and Pau. Not bad because I like 2 v 2 all the same. I guess this year players can join the game while in process? Maybe I'm trippin'.

I like the new controls being that I am an ole' Live fan. It's like Live meets 2k this year, which as a lifelong Live fan and recent [of course] 2k buyer makes me REALLY love this game. Was almost going to get Re6 instead. Lol. COULDN'T DO IT!!
