    Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

Ok picking the Bobcats for association because they're record was awful and I'm getting some extra training camp points for improving their record.

    Fantasy Draft, Serpentine

Flipping a coin for draft position.

    Heads = Upper half
    Tails = Lower half

    Results
    Tails = 16-30
    Heads = 16-23
    Heads = 16-19
    Tails = 18 or 19
    Heads = 18th pick

    This Blows.
    But,

I used to put important things here

Just fired up an association with the Warriors (Curry, Barnes, Bogut). I considered leaving the team as-is; they're two players deep at every position. But after playing with the trade finder, I had to make a splash!

David Lee, Jarrett Jack, and 2 1st rounders for LaMarcus Aldridge and the legendary Adam Morrison!

I know it's not the most realistic, but it's not thaaaat crazy either considering the two picks to a rebuilding team. And Lee is a decent stop gap for them as well.

*I also made a small trade to get CJ Watson for my backup PG

My lineup going into the season is:

      Curry / Watson / Jenkins(?)
      Thompson / Rush
      Barnes / Jefferson / Green / Ammo
      Aldridge / Landry
      Bogut / Biedrins / Ezeli

      The fun starts tonight!

As for the "start on today's date" option, you're right. It was there before but now it's greyed out. I think the 2K team just realized that they didn't program the association to start before the season so they greyed out the option until the season starts.
smh... 2k putting out a game that has a bunch of tiny bugs, who'da thunk it.. at least the online stuff works fine... oh wait

          Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

So with the 18th pick I managed to get a mediocre, yet adequate team.

          Gay
          Lawson
          Faried
          Battier
          McGee
          Terrance Ross
          Rudy Fernandez
          John Henson
          Mo Harkless
          Antonio Daniels
          Kyle Weaver
          Jason Collins

I was going for defense and youth for the most part, the bottom 3 guys were salary cap pick so I have some room (hopefully) to make a move in the offseason

Oh and playing on 8 min, 10 min sim, simulation sliders

So Far My Magic Association Is Going alright 3-4 I getting my *** kicked on the regular but that was expected.. I thought I was going to rebuild my team around Andrew Nicholson but he sucks so I decided to build around the 19 year old Mo Harkless.. I traded Hedo to make more cap room he went to the hornets for a second round draft pick.. I signed Shelton Williams for rebounds and Hassan whiteside for post play also brought back T-Mac.. I thinking about trading A Nicholson for Jon Henson do you guys think that's cheese?? Lol I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible.. Moe Harkless is raw but I'm trying to bring home along.. It's going to be along season

              Starting 5

              Jameer Nelson
              Aaron Afflalo
              Moe Harkless
              Glen Davis
              Shelton Williams

              Subs
              Sixth man T-Mac
              C.Duhon
              JJ. Redick
              Al Harrington
              H. Whiteside

Trade bait to Bucks Ishmael Smith And Andrew Nicholson plus a second rounder to the bucks for Jon Henson what's your thoughts about that??

                Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

Started a Raptors association, gonna sim the first season so I can get a team I like put together. They have a good young core so the pieces are there, I just have to find a way to make them all fit.

After simming to the all-star break our record stands at 13-40. We are absolutely awful

Came this close to accepting a trade from the Mavericks. O.J. Mayo and Delonte West for Kyle Lowry and my 2nd round pick. In the end I declined it, sighting team chemistry issues.

There's about a week left until the trade deadline and it doesn't look like i'll be making any moves. We are 2nd to last in the Eastern Conference, only trailing the terrible Bobcats who are 8-44.

Andrea Bargnani (First time All Star) leads our team in scoring at 21.7 PPG, he's second behind Ed Davis in rebounds with 7.6 a game. He's clearly who our offense runs through.

Demar Derozan is having a career year. 19.4 PPG and 5 RPG. He wants a contract extension and that's exactly what i'm going to give him for 4 years and 27 Million

I'm loving our entire backcourt, Kyle Lowry is also having a career year with 15 a game and 8 assists, even Landry Fields, who's a bit upset about his playing time is averaging over 10 a game.

Besides those guys, no one is doing a damn thing for this Toronto squad. Hopefully we can turn it around a bit after the All Star break.

Carmelo Anthony has the Knicks currently riding 6th place in the east with his league leading 29.8 PPG. So much for him shooting less this year.

The Heat are obviously in first place, with the surprise Nets 4 games back in 2nd.

The Lakers are first in the West behind Kobe and his 24 PPG, and it looks like Dwight Howard is a shoe in for defensive player of the year. The Nuggets aren't far behind though, 1 game back of first. Suns are clinging to the 8th spot by half a game over the Wolves. It's gonna be a fun rest of the year in the West.

There were plenty of trades, but none were very high profile or worthy of note. Will update at end of season

Alright I Couldn't Have Fun With Out Town I Was Getting My *** kicked game after game and Maurice Harkless sucked!!! Lol So I picking another down and out team the Phoenix suns!!! Lol I figured I would have more fun because there are a lot of realistic moves I could make and I like Kendall Marshall now I have some problems to sort out..

                      1. Dragic or Marshall who gets to drive the car?? Ilike both of these guards and they are both young I might get rid of Dragic.. Don't know if he will be happy coming off the bench again

                      2. Not sure if I'm sold on Marcin Gortat be my start center just not really feeling him...

3.im a Louie Scola fan but I'm wondering if trading him to Boston For Fab Melo Would Be Chesse..

                        Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

The Raptors had a decent showing after the All-Star break, finishing the season 27-55. At the pace we were going I didn't expect to get close to 30 wins. I'm proud of this young group.

                        MVP: LeBron James
                        ROTY: Damian Lillard
                        6th Man: Ramon Sessions
                        DPOTY: Dwight Howard
                        MOP: Brandon Jennings

Kyrie Irving made his first all NBA team and All Defensive 2nd team

Terrence Ross made the All-Rookie 2nd team for us.

Andrea Bargnani finished the season with 21.7 PPG and made his first all star team. He finished the season with a 39 point high

Demar Derozan averaged 20.2 PPG, going for 20 or more the first time in his career. That big extension we gave him isn't looking too bad at this point. He also set a career high in points
with 47 during one game this year. I gurantee he's an All-Star next season.

Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant both shared the scoring title with 29.0 PPG respectively. Now it's time to see who can do more in the Playoffs.

Somewhat surprising, Blake Griffin led all rebounders with 12.3 PPG. Dwight came in second with 11.9 and Kevin Love came in 3rd with 11.1

Goran Dragic did his best Steve Nash impression with the Suns, averaging 10.1 APG to led the NBA, he also added 14.5 PPG. Pretty good year for him.

The Playoff seedings look like this..

                        (1) Miami Heat Vs. (8) New York Knicks

                        (2) Brooklyn Nets Vs. (7) Washington Wizards

                        (3) Philedelphia 76ers Vs. (6) Atlanta Hawks

                        (4) Chicago Bulls Vs. (5) Indiana Pacers

                        And in the West...

                        (1) Los Angeles Lakers Vs. (8) Pheonix Suns

                        (2) Denver Nuggets Vs. (7) Memphis Grizzlies

                        (3) OKC Thunder vs. (6) Los Angeles Clippers

                        (4) San Antonio Spurs Vs. (5) Golden State Warrios

No big upsets in the first round, as most teams who were expected to win did just that. The only win that could be considered a surprise were the Warriors upsetting the Spurs in 7\

In the second round, it was a whole different ball game. The Lakers cruised to the West finals by sweeping the Warriors, the Nuggets shocked the world by beating the Thunder in 7

and in the East, Chicago outed Miami in 7 and the 76ers beat the Nets in 7. The Lakers took care of the Nuggets in 6 while it took Chicago 7 games to beat the 6ers.

Kobe was looking for his 6th ring, while Derrick Rose was going for his 1st. In the end though, the powerful Lakers were too much and they brought the NBA Championship back to LA in 7 games.

It was a feel good moment for Steve Nash who retired after the season, securing his 1st and only NBA Championship... Now on to the off-season

Off-season time and you know what that means! Draft Lottery! The Raptors have a 19.90% chance at the #1 pick, let's hope we get it.

I was sweating the entire time the lottery was happening, and then the worst thing that could happen, did. We ended up with the 4th pick. Not a bad pick. but, I was hoping for 1 or 2.

Ahh well, the first 5 picks are, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte BobCats, New Orleans Hornets, TORONTO RAPTORS, Orlando Magic.

We kept Dwayne Casey as our head coach, based on the good run we had after the all star break. Let's hope to replicate that success all year this upcoming off-season.

Now onto the player options. We had one team option this year, young PF Ed Davis. He had a decent year in PPG for us last year with 7, but posted career highs in rebounds and his D is good

enough for us to bring back to the squad. Linas Keliza accepted his player option, and thankfully Aaron Gray declined his option. We probably won't be resigning him.

The resigning phase was an interesting one. We had good backup PG Jose Calderon to discuss. He posted career lows in PPG and APG, but he was coming off the bench. Not sure if he's worth the

7 million that he wants. We'll see what we can get in the draft or free agency. i'd rather have instant offense off the bench as my sixth man. I also let Quincy Acy walk.

He's not a very good scorer and his defense is ATROCIOUS. He's not a player I have for the future of this team.

Time for the NBA Draft, we have the 4th pick. Let's hope we can get one for the future. With our 4th pick, we took Joseph Byrd. A 6'6, 221 pound Small Forward from George Washington.

Our scouts say he could be the best Small Forward in the entire draft. His athleticism and inside game is out of this world. He could improve a bit on his outside game a ball handling,

but he's definitely a guy who could be the missing piece of this team.

A few trades went down, the first would be the Cavs trading Alonzo Gee and the 7th pick to the Pistons for Jud Harmon and Jonas Jerbko. The Knicks trading pick 15 and Steve Novak

to the Suns for Luis Scola.

I came close to trade Landry Fields a few times, but I knew the rookie we drafted wasn't ready to take over the permanent SF position yet. Although I need to find some way to get Terrence Ross

more involved in the offense. Maybe trading fields wouldn't be such a bad idea? Joseph Byrd comes in equipped with two sig skills, Scrapper and Interceptor.

On to free agency. We have 6.35 MIL in cap room available, and the MLE. We can maybe make one good signing, and a veteran to help mentor these young cats. I like our roster

across the board, might not have to make any BIG signings, but let's see what I can get.

Top FA's are Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Andre Igoudala, Brandon Jennings, James Harden and Paul Millsap. The NBA is about to get shaken up.

We went after one guy, Chauncey Billups and we got him for 1 year, 3.9 million. This might be his final year, and using him as a mentor to Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozen, while providing

big buckets off the bench is exactly what i'm hoping for! A couple BIG free agency shake ups! Dwight Howard signed with the Cavs, they are an INSTANT title contender.

Kyrie Irving, Dwight Howard, 81 overall Rookie Jud Harmon, Dion Waiters, Leo Barbosa and Tristan Thompson. DANGEROUS. Andre Igoudala went on to sign with the Jazz, while Chris Paul

took his talents to Detroit, instantly making them a contender in the East. It's gonna be a fun year!

I took it upon myself to trade Landry Fields. We have too many good, young swingmen on our roster that I want to get immediate playing time, and I knew Landry Fields could go somewhere else

and be a better contributer. So I sent him to the OKC Thunder for two young big men full of potential. I got Perry Jones and Cole Aldrich in return. These two could be a huge part of Toronto's future!

I'm very happy with our roster heading into this season. The lineups look like this...

                            PG - Kyle Lowry
                            SG - Terrence Ross
                            SF - Demar Derozen
                            PF - Ed Davis
                            C - Andrea Bargnani

                            6th Man - Chauncey Billups

Rookie Joseph Byrd will also see a good amount of playing time this year. A lot of people are questioning the move to SF for Derozen, but, check this. He's taller than both Ross and Byrd, and, I feel he would have trouble guarding the elite sG's in the league. Although against teams like Miami and NY i'm hoping he can hold his on against those superstar SF's

                              Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

Started a Wizards association by fantasy draft. Drafted Blake with my first pick, followed by Harden, MKG, Tyson Chandler and Marcus Thornton. The rest of the team rounded out like so...

                              PG Vasquez/Barea
                              SG Harden/Thornton/
                              SF Kidd-Gilchrist/Posey/Harkless
                              PF Griffin/Arthur/Bass(backs up Tyson)
                              C Chandler/Valanciunas

First thing I did was trade Vasquez, Barea, a '13 1st and a '14 2nd to Houston for Kyle Lowry and Gordon Hayward. Houston also had Tony Parker, Lin, and Damian Lillard so Lowry wont be missed too much. Also signed Eddie House for depth.

Now my rotational lineup looks like this...

                              PG Lowry/House
                              SG Harden/Thornton/Hayward
                              SF Kidd-Gilchrist/Hayward/Posey/Harkless
                              PF Griffin/Arthur/Bass
                              C Chandler/Bass/Valanciunas

Won the first game 104-86 against the Cavs who were 6th in power rankings as opposed to the Wiz, who were 30th. Harden went off for 31 pts, 11 rebs, 4 asts, and a steal. Blake backed him up with 21 pts, 17 rebs, 4 ast, and a block. MKG and Lowry also pulled down double-digit rebounds, so maybe I might have to tweak the sliders if I keep rebounding at this rate, but for now so far, so very good. This team is gonna be fun!

Might start a hornets association and trade for Marshon brooks and make him my SF think that starting line up would be great an fun. Rivers-Gordon-brooks-Anderson-Davis
